The katechon is both enabler of creation into 3D, and the enabler of transmutation of such into the dominant field when that creation ceases to have the required duality of consciousness to remain in isolation from the dominant field it is within.

From a phenomenological point of view, consciousness and self-consciousness are synonymous...... this is the implicit view of Barfield, ie, personal consciousness did not evolve.

A source of confusion about the quantum observer may be that it is not an individual........ it is necessarily interpersonal.  

Nor can the instances of observation be isolated.  

Observations are nothing, if they do not fit a pattern of coherence.

We are talking about cosmic entanglement.  

Now, entanglement is not necessarily personal....... our neurons are entangled into the quantum aperture that we call consciousness.

All of this has to do with a very generalized notion of ontogenesis recapitulating phylogenesis, and vice-versa.  

Atoms exist to allow ontogenesis to recapitulate cosmogenesis, and all the microcosmics involved in that.

This may depend upon our respective points of view.
