With Open Minds Forum restored now for almost half a year at it's new location with forumotion.com we can now turn to look at reaching out to OMF's original members who have not yet returned home. OMF's original membership was over 6,000 members strong, prior to the proboards suspension, according to the rolls of the time. We can probably safely assume that some of those accounts were unidentified socks. If we were to assume a reasonable guess of maybe as many as 30% possible sock accounts then that would leave potentially somewhere between 4800 to 4900 possible real members to locate. That is still a substantial number of people.
Who were all these people? Some were average individuals with common interests in ufology, exopolitics, globalism, corruption, earthchanges, science and technology, and a variety of other interests. Some just enjoyed being part of a vibrant and unusually interesting community. Others were representative of various insider groups participating in observation and outreach projects, while still others were bonafide intelligence community personnel. All with stake in the hunt for truth in one fashion or another. Some in support of truth, and communication. Others seeking real disclosure and forms of proof. And others highly skeptical of anything or limited subjects. The smallest division of membership being wholly anti-disclosure oriented.
So where did these members vanish to? They had many options. There are almost innumerable other forums out there on the topics of UFO's or Exopolitics, the Unexplained, and Conspiracy Theory. Did they disappear into the world-wide network of forum inhabitants? Did some go find new homes on chatrooms or individual blogs? Did they participate in ufo conventions or other public events and gatherings? How about those who represented groups in special access? Or IC and military observers? Those with academic affiliations? Where did they all go and what would be the best way to reach out and extend an invitation to return?
And what constitutes a situation deserving of their time and participation? Is the archive enough? How exactly do people within the paradigm most desire to define a community? Is it amenities, humanity or simply population size for exposure? Most of the special guests have been emailed and have expressed that population size for exposure is what most motivates them. But not all. Long-time member Dan Smith has other priorities and values motivating his participation. Should this open opportunities for unattached junior guests who have experience and dialog to contribute to the world? How best to make use of OMF's time, experience and resources?
Many skeptics would like to see the historical guardian of discourse opportunity to just up and disappear; go into permanent stasis. They think that not everyone has a right to speak about their experiences and if there is no proof involved then there can philosophically be no value to discourse. I personally would respectfully disagree with them. Discourse has always been the prelude to meaningful relationships and meaningful mutual relationships have always been the prelude to exchanges of proof. In a contentious social environment with regards to communication vs disclosure how do we best re-establish a haven for those preludes? Is it only the "if we build it they will come" answer? Well considering OMF has been largely fully functional over the last four or five months this line of reasoning is not necessarily true. So what would be the best way re-establish this? Your suggestions are sought. Please comment.

The reason they cannot fathom out about been conscious is due to them thinking that the physical makes itself conscious, instead of realising that consciousness makes the physical . Thus all is one consciousness.
This chakana cross shows how the straight line geometry enable the spiral pathway for consciousness to implode.
To quote Jung, “Evil today has become a visible Great Power…. We stand face to face with the terrible question of evil and do not even know what is before us, let alone what to pit against it.”
We live in a time of the emergence of great darkness in our world.
Jung felt that the catastrophic evil that is manifesting in our world today is an archetypical expression of the process of humanity’s transition from one epoch—and state of consciousness—to another. He was of the opinion that the fate of the world literally depended upon the recognition of the shadow elements within us and their assimilation into a more expanded sense of self that includes both our light and dark aspects.
What we don’t accept in ourselves, but rather, exclude from our self-image and push into the shadows of netherworld of the unconscious—thereby depriving it of light—becomes toxic. These repressed shadowy contents build up a charge in the unconscious, becoming contaminated with archaic archetypal energies from the collective unconscious. It is truly frightening how many of us are so out of touch with our own shadow that we can easily become unconscious instruments through which archetypal evil, which lies hidden within the dark side of the human psyche, can act itself out through us into the world.
The first principle of psychological method is that any phenomenon to be understood must be sympathetically imagined.
No syndrome can be truly dislodged from its cursed condition until we first move imagination into its heart. One of the most crucially important steps in dealing with evil is, according to Jung, to develop what he calls an “imagination for evil.” If we can’t imagine the evil that human beings are potentially capable of—and of which we ourselves, under the right circumstances, could also be capable of—in our naivety, we offer ourselves into evil’s hands. If evil escapes the reach of our imagination, it will dictate, enforce and establish dominion over us, both within our imagination and in our concrete lives. Because our imagination can help us get a handle on evil, evil tries to stifle and ultimately destroy the imagination, which is why mobilizing the creative imagination is crucial in dealing with the powers of darkness.
I have fought evil with flowers and paint and clay and writing. I have kept it in my imagination where once it mastered my life and ran free.
I fought it with poetry and commitment and working hard and focus.
It is a constant work.
One must be vigilant on the wall.
One must call forth their own greatness, which will call greatness out in others.
This is an epic eternal struggle.
Jung pulls no punches in making this exact point when he writes, “we are always, thanks to our human nature, potential criminals. In reality we merely lacked a suitable opportunity to be drawn into the infernal melee.” We are all inseparably interconnected and partake of the shared collective (darker) unconscious of humanity—the shadow side of being a human being—which is why Jung wrote, “None of us stands outside humanity’s black collective shadow.”
Jung writes, “The gigantic catastrophes that threaten us today are not elemental happenings of a physical or biological order, but psychic events…. At any moment several millions of human beings may be smitten with a new madness, and then we shall have another world war or devastating revolution … modern man is battered by the elemental forces of his own psyche. This is the World Power that vastly exceeds all other powers on earth.” In other words, the great power—and seemingly darker force—that is threatening us today is to be found in the place where it originates, within our psyche. We should no longer underestimate, but rather, recognize the primary role that the psyche is playing in world affairs.
The next step for us to take in dealing with evil—in Jung’s words, “what to pit against it”—is to recognize that the darkness in our world is revealing to us something within ourselves that it greatly behooves us to know.
Our lack of insight into the evil that any of us are capable of, to quote Jung, “deprives us of the capacity to deal with evil.” We need to be on intimate terms and know the darkness within ourselves if we want to have any hope of effectively dealing with the darkness in the world at large.
If you want to be able to face the evil in you and the world and live with it, to quote Jung, “Therefore the individual who wishes to have an answer to the problem of evil, as it is posed today, has need, first and foremost, of self-knowledge, that is, the utmost possible knowledge of his own wholeness.”
If you are all about uncovering the evil in the world you are a liar and fraud and agent of evil.
A pusher of lies and evil.
If you uncover yourself before others and expose your darkness and share how you have battled it and come to live with it, that’s the best you can do.
The ancients knew this and you must study them.
They have given us some powerful tools.
Write poetry.
Read poetry.
Let it wash over you.
Spend time in nature.
Grow things.
Cultivate your connections to man and beast and earth.
Smell it.
Taste it.
Love it.
This is how you live your best life.
This is something to be alive.
Treasure it.
If you have come to suicide, you are rejecting the evil I describe in the worst way.
It wants you to destroy yourself.
It feeds on you on your way and feeds on others you cause pain to.
Don’t do it until your time to leave has come.
You will know when your time here in earth is done.
Or a bus will hit you before you have a chance to settle things.
But I do not feel things like that are as random as they seem.
We draw these things to ourselves in mind first.
I do not feel one pointing a gun at you is a random act.
That is a clear message.
Yea, I see evil.
I see it in me and I see it all around.
But I shall not fear.
“Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”
The symbolism of the staff dates all the way back to ancient times in which a staff (hook) was used by shepherds to guide their flock. Herein resides significant symbolic meaning of leadership and altruistic authority which still stands strong today.
When I see the staff in the tarot cards I think of the rod of Asclepius and the Caduceus.
Most importantly, esoteric symbolism holds the staff as a conduit or cosmic connector between heaven and earth. Ideally, the magician holding a rod or staff has a direct link to information of the spirit realms and earth realms as the rod connects the two.
We are the nexus of many worlds.
We have a responsibility to each other.
We are the gatekeepers.
Forces seek to control the gates.
They shall not pass.
Take up your rod and staff.
Know the power of wholeness.
I have often thought I cannot take this into the world.
I can not bear this message and way of living.
But I was wrong.
I have no choice now.
I must embody it always.
One can look to no one else in the valley.
But you have been given gifts and helps.
Use them.
And that is the best way I know to be.
This is what it is to be the master of yourself, to know your darkness and light and walk in between.
Master Mi-an said, “The reason this path has not been flourishing in recent years is nothing else but the fact that those who are acting as teachers of others do not have their eyes and brains straight and true.”
“Let me also ask you, what teacher would you harmonize with? If you want to harmonize with a teacher, just get to know your own mind.
Now let me ask you, what is your mind? And how do you know it? Here you can not force an understanding; you must actually look inward and discover it.” —Instant Zen
“True, the full man wisely gathers, culls, absorbs; but if, engaged disproportionately in that, he slights or overlays the precious idiocrasy and special nativity and intention that he is, the man’s self, the main thing, is a failure, however wide his general cultivation.

The best culture will always be that of … courageous instincts, and loving perceptions, and of self-respect.“ —Walt Whitman
Cold rock, no one takes this road. The deeper you go, the finer it is. White clouds hang on high crags. On Green Peak a lone gibbon’s cry. What friends do I need? I do what pleases me, and grow old. Let face and body alter with the years, I’ll hold to the bright path of mind.
"The Aeon of Horus is here: and its first flower may well be this: that, freed of the obsession of the doom of the Ego in Death, and of the limitation of the Mind by Reason, the best men again set out with eager eyes upon the Path of the Wise, the mountain track of the goat, and then the untrodden Ridge, that leads to the ice-gleaming pinnacles of Mastery!"
EMERGENCE is coming to rear it's ugly head and I've always faced it head on.
The end of the year looks interesting.
I don't think the rest of you will have a hard time facing it either.
Hobbit I've always thought you should start your own thread delving into your worldview and cosmology.
I've been able to piece bits of it together over the years but admittedly it can be rather convoluted and I think instead of cluttering up Dan's threads that you could start your own section detailing your story and viewpoint and it would be incredibly insightful.
I'm all for free expression obviously and I don't see anything wrong with the way we've been doing it but perhaps it's time for a little change of pace.

And the band plays on…as we near the end of the Age.
A great turning is underway.
A shift from instinctive life and pain as a driver, to being driven on by a purposeful life.
Those consumed by the other world are mentally ill.
This is where it happens.
That world and this are the same.
There is no distance between them.
They cross through each other in strange angles.
Perhaps our true source connects to us through these long tendrils of energy and is pulling the strings in a way.
Feeding us info.
Here we have the ability to progress and achieve, where something closer to the center could not.
There is more freedom of movement here in the edge of pain and bliss.
Let’s just say that the source on the other end tugging has let me know it’s there.
It has used symbols and visionary conversations and gnosis to give me a lot.
I struggle to communicate anything beyond being a smelly goat.
To others I seem turned around, where you seem so to me.
What is obvious to me is not obvious to most.
That is not another world to me.
It is this present world right here.
This increases ones awareness of reality.
It expands slowly and then quickly and then slowly.
Those biological unfortunates following the crowd are doomed and will just have to pass away.
On the way to realizing god. You become yourself.
You become god here.
Biology couldn’t afford the brain we have and consciousness until we developed civilization and now it is happening super fast.
You can see the emergence and evolution of consciousness in recorded history.
It has been our biology that needed to adapt to it.
Psychedelics are a key ingredient in the overall process it seems.
All things must pass.
…
Some great readings tonight from Colin Wilson’s “The Occult.”
It’s just fantastic.
Synchronicities are firing at rapid rate.
I feel in a way my cries have been answered.
This great burning purpose to quality in my life as an individual is a culmination of a long program of biological development.
I have been guided by energy into this current state.
Made very receptive and sensitive.
I can feel my mind and awareness and ability expanding.
Turned from culture and loons inward, which is outward.
Went off into the mountains to percolate on all of this beauty and wonder.
Colin is a true luminary.
I as he, am interested in this life and consciousness where I am.
How best shall we live?
It’s 758 pages.
Taking me some time to get through it.
I have to read things over and over.
“Consciousness has one immense disadvantage: it divides life against itself. When life was confined to the instinctive levels, its drives were simple: its aim was to increase its foothold in the realm of matter. Consciousness is concerned with superficial problems. The secret police know nothing about the ultimate aims of the government, about its economic and foreign policies. This does not matter so long as the government retains a firm control. But the success of consciousness has been so spectacular that it has become a kind of government department in itself. And this is dangerous. The danger has been immeasurably increased in the past few centuries. The intention of writing gave immense impetus to human evolution, and changed man’s vision of himself. There is no evidence that Isaac newton was more intelligent than Moses or Confucius, but he had subtler methods of storing and utilizing his knowledge. As a result of three centuries of Newtonian science, man has become king of his earthly castle. He no longer takes life-and-death for granted, as his ancestors did. He looks out on the universe with the eye of a master. But consciousness is not the master; it is the servant. It lacks the power and drive of the instinctive life forces. Left to itself, it tends to become passive and bewildered, alienated from the world of instinct and the world of matter. It is a master who has lost all feeling of mastery.
Human evolution has advanced too fast; its processes have become too complicated for it’s own good. But they can be simplified. Consciousness can be turned inward, to the understanding of the vital processes and the evolutionary drives.
The chief enemy of life is not death, but forgetfulness, stupidity. We lose direction too easily. This is the great penalty that life paid for descending into matter: a kind of partial amnesia.
But it is the next step in the argument that is the crucial one. The universe is full of all kinds of energies. Matter is energy – the most resistant and uncompromising kind of energy. And if life has succeeded in achieving some degree of conquest of matter, it is absurd to suppose that it has not succeeded with more malleable forms of energy?
We are back to David Foster’s notion of an intelligent universe, but now it is necessary to ask, who does the coding? We know the answer. The force of life itself, which has been conducting it’s campaign of colonization for more than 1 billion years.
The great unsolved mystery is that of individuality. If life is somehow a unity, how is it that each of its units feels so separate and unique. Chesterson expressed it in the magnificent last chapter of the man who was Thursday, why does each thing on earth war against each other thing? Why does each small thing in the world have to fight against the world itself? Why does a fly have to fight the whole universe? Not only why, but how? Human individuality is so absolute that we can no more imagine ourselves without it than we can imagine one and one making three.
Without individuality, life would not build up the same desperate force. The man of the crowd is a weakling; people who need people are the stupidest people in the world. And so the basic paradox of human nature seems to be inherent in the force of life itself: without challenge or crisis, it takes things easy, and collapses into mediocrity.
The old theological question why evil is answered by the recognition that without evil, there would be universal mediocrity. With the development of art, science, philosophy, man has acquired the possibility of a positive purpose, a purpose towards which he can drive forward, instead of being driven from behind.
We want to feel the weight of our life squarely on our shoulders, and talk of a after life seems a false promise. The artist sees that a solution to the curious pointlessness of human existence is not another life, but the occasional moments of ecstatic intensity in control when this universe seems infinitely interesting and the idea of eternal life, in this universe, entirely delightful.
The poet is right to be mistrustful about other worlds as a solution to the problems with this one. If my reasoning is correct, then the other world is not intended to be a solution. We are on the front line; the general is back at headquarters; the other worlds that exist between us and headquarters are support unit and supply depots, not a higher level of existence.
The aim is total control. With this control established, life can become a unity; there would no longer be a distinction between other worlds and this one.”
