With Open Minds Forum restored now for almost half a year at it's new location with forumotion.com we can now turn to look at reaching out to OMF's original members who have not yet returned home. OMF's original membership was over 6,000 members strong, prior to the proboards suspension, according to the rolls of the time. We can probably safely assume that some of those accounts were unidentified socks. If we were to assume a reasonable guess of maybe as many as 30% possible sock accounts then that would leave potentially somewhere between 4800 to 4900 possible real members to locate. That is still a substantial number of people.
Who were all these people? Some were average individuals with common interests in ufology, exopolitics, globalism, corruption, earthchanges, science and technology, and a variety of other interests. Some just enjoyed being part of a vibrant and unusually interesting community. Others were representative of various insider groups participating in observation and outreach projects, while still others were bonafide intelligence community personnel. All with stake in the hunt for truth in one fashion or another. Some in support of truth, and communication. Others seeking real disclosure and forms of proof. And others highly skeptical of anything or limited subjects. The smallest division of membership being wholly anti-disclosure oriented.
So where did these members vanish to? They had many options. There are almost innumerable other forums out there on the topics of UFO's or Exopolitics, the Unexplained, and Conspiracy Theory. Did they disappear into the world-wide network of forum inhabitants? Did some go find new homes on chatrooms or individual blogs? Did they participate in ufo conventions or other public events and gatherings? How about those who represented groups in special access? Or IC and military observers? Those with academic affiliations? Where did they all go and what would be the best way to reach out and extend an invitation to return?
And what constitutes a situation deserving of their time and participation? Is the archive enough? How exactly do people within the paradigm most desire to define a community? Is it amenities, humanity or simply population size for exposure? Most of the special guests have been emailed and have expressed that population size for exposure is what most motivates them. But not all. Long-time member Dan Smith has other priorities and values motivating his participation. Should this open opportunities for unattached junior guests who have experience and dialog to contribute to the world? How best to make use of OMF's time, experience and resources?
Many skeptics would like to see the historical guardian of discourse opportunity to just up and disappear; go into permanent stasis. They think that not everyone has a right to speak about their experiences and if there is no proof involved then there can philosophically be no value to discourse. I personally would respectfully disagree with them. Discourse has always been the prelude to meaningful relationships and meaningful mutual relationships have always been the prelude to exchanges of proof. In a contentious social environment with regards to communication vs disclosure how do we best re-establish a haven for those preludes? Is it only the "if we build it they will come" answer? Well considering OMF has been largely fully functional over the last four or five months this line of reasoning is not necessarily true. So what would be the best way re-establish this? Your suggestions are sought. Please comment.
“Nature's first green is gold, Her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf's a flower; But only so an hour. Then leaf subsides to leaf. So Eden sank to grief, So dawn goes down to day. Nothing gold can stay.”

believe me, you are very well set in your ways.
Bunnies don't wanna eliminate anyone
Whatever would give you such an odd notion?
He's right, you should relax.
Chill out.
Go paint a really impressive and photo realistic picture of a tire a much wiser man once told you to change for your own good or some shit.
Dante’s Divine Comedy is so named because there is supposedly a happy ending for us.
He describes the fate of those who reject their source.
He saw them in the “dim” light.
How can anyone know anything for sure, being so limited and very finite?
You can’t.
So what do you do if your life is not enough for you?
You make up a happy ending maybe.
Dante wrote that there is no more wretched sorrow than to remember joyful times.
That would be a torture.
No one can always be joyful.
But one can make a warm home for joy in hopes of attracting it.
I had a grapple with my devout Catholic Uncle recently at my Father’s funeral.
He insisted though I may have stopped actively looking for anything, we are always searching.
I do not agree, one can truly end their search.
He also insisted that my good luck, is in fact, real grace.
I do not agree.
One cannotspeak about what this is and do this any justice.
He is one of the only men I know who has read “Meditations” by Marcus Aurelius.
He’s an accomplished and virtuous man, a true elder, but I think I’ve done him one better.
Oh the arrogance of youth, right?
I know where he is coming from, faith, but I can’t live by faith, I must live by sight and stay in the light.
He said my other Uncle and I are “way out” there.
No, we are deep “in here.”
Living by sight in the light is more than enough for this big bunny
If there is anything more to life than it appears to be, it will need to be a surprise for me.
Ashes to ashes and dust to dust.
Dante - The Divine Comedy wrote:Midway upon the journey of our life I found myself within a forest dark, For the straightforward pathway had been lost.
Ah me! how hard a thing it is to say What was this forest savage, rough, and stern, Which in the very thought renews the fear.
So bitter is it, death is little more; But of the good to treat, which there I found, Speak will I of the other things I saw there.
I cannot well repeat how there I entered, So full was I of slumber at the moment In which I had abandoned the true way.
But after I had reached a mountain’s foot, At that point where the valley terminated, Which had with consternation pierced my heart,
Upward I looked, and I beheld its shoulders, Vested already with that planet’s rays Which leadeth others right by every road.
Then was the fear a little quieted That in my heart’s lake had endured throughout The night, which I had passed so piteously.
…
Through me you pass into the city of woe: Through me you pass into eternal pain: Through me among the people lost for aye. Justice the founder of my fabric moved: To rear me was the task of power divine, Supremest wisdom, and primeval love. Before me things create were none, save things Eternal, and eternal I shall endure.
All hope abandon, ye who enter here.
I don’t need hope or faith to live my best life.
In fact, I don’t think you can find your best life until you realize yourself beyond faith and plant 🪴 yourself in the garden of the eternal now.
“The Mysteries represented the myth of the abduction of Persephone from her mother Demeter by the king of the underworld Hades, in a cycle with three phases: the descent (loss), the search, and the ascent.”
Loss…search…ascent
Loss…search…ascent
Loss…search…ascent
The theme of our oldest stories.
This is how one becomes enlightened in a basic sense.
This is the heart of all religion.
Ritualizing this formula was the foundation of the Mysteries.
For myself, this formula was the essence of my slavery.
You don’t have to call yourself anything to know love.
I think the human being is best natural with no names or faith of any kind.
We can still stand before the Sun and not have our faces ripped off.
We will burn being too much in the sun.
Love is the universal solvent.
I like this one from The Last Temptation of Christ.
Jesus wrote:Jesus: If I was a woodcutter, I'd cut. If I was a fire, I'd burn. But I'm a heart and I love. That's the only thing I can do.
We have to counter Fundamentalism and Authoritarianism.
I think these are diseases of the mind that only the heart can heal.
I’ve seen it happen in living color.
They can’t stand up to love.
You may resist love for a long time, but it is patient, it can pierce the hardest barrier given time.
Jesus is the easiest fool to find in the universe, he is not hiding.
He’s helping people along the road, collecting the wayward.
You never have to know what to do in life.
Just do your best and help those you can.
Sometimes our help though can be a curse.
If anyone thinks Jesus was about anything else than helping those around him or directed us to do anything but take care of the ones we can around us, they are sadly mistaken and deluded.
Those who would seek a king are sadly mistaken and deluded.
No one can save you, no one to save really, but some ghosts maybe.
So what’s all this fuss about?
Absolutely nothing in the end.
In the first four centuries after Jesus Christianity was a religion of the slave and poor.
But it became the church of the rich.
Liberation theology of today is a direct threat against the current powers that be.
So they destabilized South America to counter the spread of Vatican II theology of the poor, which was a return to the radical gospel of Jesus as I understand it.
Salvation is for the rich and white mostly as the Evangelicals practice it.
But there are many flavors of evangelicalism.
Some Liberation theology yet lives within the Protestant church.
The CIA has done all it can to eradicate it across the world lest we fall as the Romans did to the gospel of love.
Based on deep introspection, considering all before, and experimentation, my working principles are based on a humanism encouraging human flourishing in balance with environmental sustainability.
Everything in our world is connected. We are local and global citizens. We should prefer peace and consider our impact locally and globally.
Be present in the moment for the win. Cultivate mental, emotional, and physical resilience. Do not neglect our spiritual nature, but recognize no one philosophy or religion can really provide us what we need.
Given the constant change we live in, be pragmatic, adaptable, and flexible. Always be improving. Be a lifelong learner.
It is better to be in community with others than not generally. The good life includes contributing your best to society.
Contribute to a meaningful life for you and others.
To challenge the core beliefs of a person evokes an immune response.
Ideas and memes have a life of their own.
When I was hit by cosmic consciousness, I evoked an immense immune response and like Neo, I was ejected from the matrix.
It is a very disorienting experience to be ejected from the matrix.
But what a ride!
Haha, I met many lunatics on my way out of the matrix, fringe dwellers.
I danced with them sometimes.
Slowly, I integrated my cosmic consciousness encounter.
I simmered down.
My family rejected me because I was just burning too brightly.
But I was shown how religion works in humanity.
How ideas form and drive us.
I learned to treat those around me gently.
You will know people by their love.
We are driven by our love of beauty.
Religions harness this natural drive.
Direct it.
What speaks louder than words is our love.
And that love beat the immune response.
What is cosmic consciousness or what those words point to?
I can’t say, but it’s full of stars.
…
Let me give you another recent example of direct contact with the source.
Drew Carey was just blasted by the light.
Listen to what it did to him.
I have a theory.
No theory can ever be proved, only disproved.
We have not evolved spiritually for a long time, we have been adapting, yes, a mechanism of evolution.
Well, we are now.
And it’s going to blow our socks 🧦 off!
And all of our clothes.
I love this and tip my hat to Drew.
Welcome to the circus
Drew Carey used his time on After Midnight to clarify some tweets. Carey went to Sphere on 4/20 weekend to see Phish, and it apparently changed his life. “I swear I just talked to God,” he wrote. “I would give you all my money, stick my dick in a blender and swear off pussy for the rest of my life in exchange for this.” He also said the show was “what it must feel like to cum with a pussy.” Taylor Tomlinson obviously had some follow-up questions. During the talk-show segment of After Midnight, she gave Carey the space to expand on the themes of his tweets, and expand he did. Carey explained that the reason he thought Phish was akin to the female orgasm was because he went to see the band with a bunch of women. “It was like being edged for four days straight,” he said. “And then right before the face-melting climax on the fourth day, an angel comes down — Gabriel — and he shoots fucking heroin into your arm.”
We would give everything, our lives too, to live in that beauty.
It’s that good.
Now is this feeling bred into us by aliens who eat us like food?
Hahahaha.
The way to god is through cosmic orgasmic sex.
Being hit by the light, triggers a cosmic orgasm.
A cosmic orgasm will turn you inside out.
A cosmic orgasm will show you the face of god.
A cosmic orgasm will open you up, like all the way open.
A cosmic orgasm will scramble your brain.
A cosmic orgasm will open a closed heart.
All religious instincts come back to the sex drive.
Those of us having cosmic orgasmic sex are closest to the source.
Those of us who aren’t, are angry asshole conservatives mostly, grabbing people by the genitals, counting their money.
Losers.
I wish great cosmic orgasms to you all, best thing for ya really.
A cosmic orgasm a day will keep the conservatives away!
Some recent studies and scribblings about what can’t be written. Enlightenment is sudden and permanent. Round and round we go on our donkey/ass seeking the donkey/ass. It is quite comical.
Psychedelics were part of my early stirrings. But I have moved on from using anything outside myself to find myself. Ordinary mind is the only way. You are your only teacher. I was always right here. This is the funniest damndest thing to realize.
Words are memes. They convey cultural information. Words are not the “thing”, they are simply symbols for something. We miss much not listening to each other’s verbalizations and silence. Ordinary mind, experiencing things as they are, is the way.
If you don't ask, you won't get it; but if you ask, in effect, you've slighted yourself. If you don't ask, how can you know? But you still have to know how to ask before you can succeed... Remember the story of the ancient worthy who was asked, "What was the intention of the Zen Founder in coming from India?" Amazed, the ancient said, "You ask about the intention of another in coming from India. Why not ask about your own intention?"
“All over the earth is unclarity; best be very careful.”
Here, I am thus every day, thus all the time. But tell me, what is "thus"? Try to express it outside of discriminatory consciousness, intellectual assessments, and verbal formulations. This reality is not susceptible to your intellectual understanding. ... How can you think of your original mind? How can you see your own eye? ... What can be seen by the eye or heard by the ear can be studied in the scriptures.
But what about the basis of awareness itself -- how do you study that?
“I will settle something for you right now: the ultimate rule is to see your own mind clearly. An ancient said, "The mind does not know itself, the mind does not see itself." So how can you see it clearly? Mind does not see mind; to get it, you must not see it as mind.
Do you want to understand? Just discern the things perceived; you cannot see the mind itself.”
“Buddhism is extremely easy and saves the most energy. It's just that you yourself waste energy and cause yourself trouble. The ancients saw people helpless, and told them to try meditating quietly. This was good advice, but later people didn't understand what the ancients meant, and closed their eyes, suppressed body and mind, and sat like lumps waiting for enlightenment. How foolish! [You must not just sit: you must also realise that the one sitting, i.e. you, is your only teacher.]”
“According to Ch'ing-yüan, also called Fo-yen, there are two diseases in connection with the practice of Zen. “The first is to ride an ass in search of the ass. The second is to ride the ass and refuse to dismount.” It is easy to see the silliness of seeking the ass you are riding. As your attention is turned outwards, you will never look inside, and all your search will be so much ado about nothing. The kingdom of God is within you, but you seek it outside. There is no telling how many troubles in the world have had their origin just in this wrong orientation.”
As Ma-tsu has said, “You are the treasure of your own house.” To seek it outside is a pathetic endeavor, because you will always be disappointed.
Most of us have lived as slaves most of our time alive.
The priest says, look away from science, have faith/lie to yourselves.
Go to sleep.
Go to sleep.
Go to sleep.
The pain of the loss of the garden keeps us going.
The priests are at it again.
Those false prophets.
But The Adversary of our enemy is our friend.
Who has looked after us?
Who or what is the ghost in the machine?
Nietzsche wrote:The old God, wholly “spirit,” wholly the high-priest, wholly perfect, is promenading his garden: he is bored and trying to kill time. Against boredom even gods struggle in vain.[21] What does he do? He creates man—man is entertaining.... But then he notices that man is also bored. God’s pity for the only form of distress that invades all paradises knows no bounds: so he forthwith creates other animals. God’s first mistake: to man these other animals were not entertaining—he sought dominion over them; he did not want to be an “animal” himself.—So God created woman. In the act he brought boredom to an end—and also many other things! Woman was the second mistake of God.—“Woman, at bottom, is a serpent, Heva”—every priest knows that; “from woman comes every evil in the world”— every priest knows that, too. Ergo, she is also to blame for science.... It was through woman that man learned to taste of the tree of knowledge.—What happened? The old God was seized by mortal terror. Man himself had been his greatest blunder; he had created a rival to himself; science makes men godlike—it is all up with priests and gods when man becomes scientific!—Moral: science is the forbidden per se; it alone is forbidden. Science is the first of sins, the germ of all sins, the original sin. This is all there is of morality.—“Thou shall not know”:—the rest follows from that.—God’s mortal terror, however, did not hinder him from being shrewd. How is one to protect one’s self against science? For a long while this was the capital problem. Answer: Out of paradise with man! Happiness, leisure, foster thought—and all thoughts are bad thoughts!—Man must not think.—And so the priest invents distress, death, the mortal dangers of childbirth, all sorts of misery, old age, decrepitude, above all, sickness—nothing but devices for making war on science! The troubles of man don’t allow him to think.... Nevertheless—how terrible!—, the edifice of knowledge begins to tower aloft, invading heaven, shadowing the gods—what is to be done?—The old God invents war; he separates the peoples; he makes men destroy one another (—the priests have always had need of war....). War—among other things, a great disturber of science!—Incredible! Knowledge, deliverance from the priests, prospers in spite of war.—So the old God comes to his final resolution: “Man has become scientific—there is no help for it: he must be drowned!”
Complexity hates simplicity.
It isn’t thinking that redeems us.
Our turn toward fundamentalism and politics of grievance are leading us further into darkness.
I found this chat timely and they nail Jordan Peterson pretty well too.
