Unlike Dan, I take a poetic view of all this, a Heroic view.
I see the circumstances stacked against us, Sisyphus reborn again, but knowing we can win our freedom.
The worse the odds, the more heroic.
Life seems setup to be heroic, not a drag or existential pity party.
Nietzsche recovered some sense of this.
Camus is my man, now that dude lived the rogues life.
You work with the music you find and you make it better.
Who makes the flowers grow?
Who wrote the code?
Who sings the songs?
Self writing code?
As a poet, I know better.
A different kind of knowing than reasoned knowledge.
This frustrates the reasonable.
This is not pointless.
The truly defeated one lives with no value or respect for any.
"… wisdom is a form of goodness, and is not scientific knowledge but another kind of cognition." (Aristotle, Eudemian Ethics 1246b, 35).
Tonight I met a relative you might say, one of the first if not the first goat, a water god who cares for his children.
I met Ea/Enki who created mankind and the goat-fish, His servant dudes.
The Goddess lost her place to the maker god.
Funny in the old stories, Enlil, Enki’s father, wanted to destroy us with a flood because we were too noisy always dancing and singing and making a racket and disturbing his rest.
They should have kept that in the Bible.
But the religious made being human evil, a pity.
Enki laughs at that. We are beautiful because we sing and dance in adversity. With no hope, we make the best of it.
That speaks to the quality and wisdom given to us.
The gods have worn so many faces over the ages.
Had so many names.
“ For a god wisdom is perhaps a divine meal to be swallowed at one gulp without need of mastication, and that would be the end of the story. The deities are known for their simplicity. The matter of human wisdom, however, could fill all archives on earth without ever exhausting itself. Humanity is notorious for its complexity. And men proudly say "Good things are difficult." But is wisdom a labyrinth, or "thinking makes it so"? And when did the saga of human wisdom begin and with whom?”
But we have always asked the question in our oldest remembered story, why and by what hand are we made?
Wisdom is a gift.
Is it wiser to speak or be silent?
"No wisdom won with weariness;
But Love goes in with Folly's dress.
No fame that wit could ever win;
But only Love may lead Love in
To Arcady, to Arcady."
You will do as you should when you let it flow.
“The Poet
When humans contemplated Dawn for the first time, wisdom was the treasure of the poet alone. Of all men he was the wisest, for the gods had chosen his soul as receptacle of their confidences. Thus filled with inspiration divine, the poet knew better than any other man the secrets of the world. And since Apollo found more pleasure in leading the Muses than in warming his tripod, neither the inspiration of the Pythia nor that of seers could match the poet's wisdom. And since the divine is far beyond human reason, nor could anyone else follow the secret paths of sacred absurdity by means of rational thinking. The gods might have blinded the eyes of the poet, but they consented in opening his soul wide. Then mankind looked into that soul as in a mirror and was delighted at its beauty and purity, its freedom and simplicity, its justice and sense. That inexplicable vision mankind called wisdom, an unpolluted gift, a golden path to heaven.”
Very interesting how things connect.
Sacred absurdity indeed.
This is the energy of Heyoka.
Trickster.
Can wisdom exist in folly?
Is the Fool the most wise?
When you don’t know is how you avoid powers corruption.
It is a great gift to know not know.
It will get you out of and into many a pickle.
Let’s just say when ya got it ya got it and you should want it, cause you need it.
That would be a good song
