Where did all the Open Minds Forum members go?

Fri Oct 19, 2012 12:29 pm by Admin

With Open Minds Forum restored now for almost half a year at it's new location with forumotion.com we can now turn to look at reaching out to OMF's original members who have not yet returned home. OMF's original membership was over 6,000 members strong, prior to the proboards suspension, according to the rolls of the time. We can probably safely assume that some of those accounts were unidentified socks. If we were to assume a reasonable guess of maybe as many as 30% possible sock accounts then that would leave potentially somewhere between 4800 to 4900 possible real members to locate. That is still a substantial number of people.

Who were all these people? Some were average individuals with common interests in ufology, exopolitics, globalism, corruption, earthchanges, science and technology, and a variety of other interests. Some just enjoyed being part of a vibrant and unusually interesting community. Others were representative of various insider groups participating in observation and outreach projects, while still others were bonafide intelligence community personnel. All with stake in the hunt for truth in one fashion or another. Some in support of truth, and communication. Others seeking real disclosure and forms of proof. And others highly skeptical of anything or limited subjects. The smallest division of membership being wholly anti-disclosure oriented.

So where did these members vanish to? They had many options. There are almost innumerable other forums out there on the topics of UFO's or Exopolitics, the Unexplained, and Conspiracy Theory. Did they disappear into the world-wide network of forum inhabitants? Did some go find new homes on chatrooms or individual blogs? Did they participate in ufo conventions or other public events and gatherings? How about those who represented groups in special access? Or IC and military observers? Those with academic affiliations? Where did they all go and what would be the best way to reach out and extend an invitation to return?

And what constitutes a situation deserving of their time and participation? Is the archive enough? How exactly do people within the paradigm most desire to define a community? Is it amenities, humanity or simply population size for exposure? Most of the special guests have been emailed and have expressed that population size for exposure is what most motivates them. But not all. Long-time member Dan Smith has other priorities and values motivating his participation. Should this open opportunities for unattached junior guests who have experience and dialog to contribute to the world? How best to make use of OMF's time, experience and resources?

Many skeptics would like to see the historical guardian of discourse opportunity to just up and disappear; go into permanent stasis. They think that not everyone has a right to speak about their experiences and if there is no proof involved then there can philosophically be no value to discourse. I personally would respectfully disagree with them. Discourse has always been the prelude to meaningful relationships and meaningful mutual relationships have always been the prelude to exchanges of proof. In a contentious social environment with regards to communication vs disclosure how do we best re-establish a haven for those preludes? Is it only the "if we build it they will come" answer? Well considering OMF has been largely fully functional over the last four or five months this line of reasoning is not necessarily true. So what would be the best way re-establish this? Your suggestions are sought. Please comment.

Walking there is no right or wrong.

    No judgements.

Do what you feel to do in our your heart and it will go fine, as I do.

    You can’t mediate it, haha.

Yuh simply can’t decide when it’s right or wrong.

You don’t know what waves spontaneous action make.

    Feelings are not a factor.

Take care of your own actions, don’t try to mediate others’.

The ultimate goal of all conscious entities is comfort. Without it, you wouldn’t have so much as a single intentional impulse. Unfortunately, as humans we have a habit of reaching this goal at the cost of others. Such conflict has existed since our inception as a species, but I can see it dissapearing in the future partly thanks to improvements in knowledge and technology.

You need to let go of these delusions and restore the relationship with your wife and daughter.I know that you’ve been struggling for a long time partly as a result of the things posted by Dan and much of the internet in general. Another part of it is that you’re prone to this sort of thinking. It’s imperative that you understand this keep it in mind as you go through your life.

I think you read my last comment out of context. If you read all of what I posted today you would not have said I need to restore my relationship with my wife and daughter. What a very strange assumption to make of someone else’s relationships.

In a sense you are correct. My relationships are in constant need of restoration, but I continually restore them with love, service and sacrifice.

In order to have the capacity for this service and sacrifice though I first must focus on being whole and centered. I do this by spending the first hour of the morning before anyone else is awake praying and then meditating, thinking nothing, doing nothing, being nothing.

For example, yesterday I had family home evening. What is that? We have it every Monday. We said a family prayer, we sang a song called “I am a child of God”. We had a lesson on discernment and the Holy Ghost. We played a game and ate some treats. And we discussed ways to improve how we can better communicate with each other.

Last night after my kids went to bed I gave my wife a massage cause she had a sore back. I did it without expecting or receiving anything in return.

Tonight I spent the night from 6:30 to 9:30 playing with my girls, reading them books, giving them baths and putting them to bed while my wife went to exercise at the gym.

The only reason I have time to write this comment now is because my wife is in the shower, but as soon as she is out we are watching a movie together now that our girls have gone to bed.

So you see, your comment is quite confusing to me.

Oh well, you have good intentions I think, just a little misguided.

Dillinger was once asked why he robbed banks...... because that’s where the money is, silly.

And why does dan rob the Hive......... because that’s where the honey is, silly.

And how do you rob the Hive?  Well, you walk in the front door.  After that?  It’s like taking candy from a baby.

Have you noticed that there’s a lot of hacking these days.  But I tell you that these latter day hackers are too late.  The world has already been hacked.

The Muslims think Jesus climbed down from the cross.  Wrongo.  He climbed up, and right into our hearts and souls.  Yes, he was the ultimate hacker.  And that was just the jab from the left.  His right hook...... that was the sermon on the Mount.  Now, I’m not even saying that it was the same guy.  I’m no historian.  But it might as well have been.

Me? Hive?  I also had two tricks....... Ron and Aliyah.  Enoch had his keys.  I had my mnemonic.  I also had the public encryption key to her enigmatic, Mona Lisa smile.  With all these tricks, I’m claiming to have hacked the Hacker.  It was a jab with the right, and then a hook from the left.

No one....... but no one, could have seen that left hook coming.  It came right out of the blue sky, like a stroke of lightning ...... right to the Logos plexus.  All you had to do was add E8 x E8 to get F4.  Well, truth be known, I have the cheat sheet...... exceptional sporadic groups for dummies.  smelly is my cheat sheet, but he hasn’t quite figured that out, yet.  Won’t he be p*ssed?  Hoist on his own petard.  Well, the more they resist, the harder they fall.

Please, Lord, don’t make me pull another all-nighter.

    Smelly,

    I haven't, not possible?
Jumped out of this wabbit hole, I did crawl out of it years ago.

And what I saw was not pretty.

I follow a straight pathway, it's one inch wide.

Hey ho hairy friend. I’ll check out your links, I’m sure they are just what I need.

Dan, the impulse tells me exactly what you are up to, it kinda narrates my life now.

I knew you were using me to cheat.

I used you too, it wasn’t for Disclosure.

“When you wake up in the morning, tell yourself: The people I deal with today will be meddling, ungrateful, arrogant, dishonest, jealous and surly. They are like this because they can’t tell good from evil. But I have seen the beauty of good, and the ugliness of evil and have recognized that the wrongdoer has a nature related to my own — not of the same blood or birth, but the same mind, and possessing a share of the divine. And so none of them can hurt me.

True understanding is to see the events of life in this way: ‘You are here for my benefit, though rumor paints you otherwise.’ And everything is turned to one’s advantage when he greets a situation like this: You are the very thing I was looking for. Truly whatever arises in life is the right material to bring about your growth and the growth of those around you. This, in a word, is art — and this art called ‘life’ is a practice suitable to both men and gods. Everything contains some special purpose and a hidden blessing; what then could be strange or arduous when all of life is here to greet you like an old and faithful friend?”

    — Marcus Aurelius

    “Use the night atmosphere
    more and more for meditation.

And when the moon is there in the night
it is far easier to meditate.

The full-moon night is the best for meditation.

Many people who have become Buddhas
    have attained their enlightenment
    on the full-moon night,
    even Buddha himself.

It may have been a coincidence,
but it is significant to remember:
he was born on a full moon night,
    he became enlightened
    on the full-moon night
and he died on the full-moon,
    seemed to be synchronizing
    with his energy. Use it.

Be alert und use every possibility
    to help you go in.”

    — OSHO

Good simply means having enough and evil is having too much.

My life is enough as it is, no more drama needed and it is goooooood.

    The world has come alive...

I have a lot of work to do today, I’ve been slacking.
I’ve been slacking and life keeps going and thriving even.
I came here out of an explosion of love and I’ve loved every post.
I have received this all as love and I am the better for it.
I have won the world, because I found my heart.
I’m just an actor, I will take my bow and express my love of the glorious play of life as I like and see fit.
None of you know me really unless you live in your heart.
I have played with you all.

“As you move above to the fourth center - that is the heart - your whole life becomes a sharing of love. The third center has created the abundance of love. By reaching to the third center in meditation, you have become so overflowing with love, with compassion, and you want to share. It happens at the fourth center, the heart.

That's why even in the ordinary world people think love comes out of the heart. For them it is just hearsay, they have heard it; they don't know it because they have never reached to their heart. But the meditator finally reaches to the heart. As he has reached to the center of his being - the third center - suddenly an explosion of love and compassion and joy and blissfulness and benediction has arisen in him with such a force that it hits his heart and opens the heart. The heart is just in the middle of all your seven centers - three centers below, three centers above. You have come exactly to the middle.”

    — OSHO

I will be transparent, I do carry a burden for my family, but I let that go now. They made their choices in life as I have.

My Mother and Sister turned away from me because of my lack of faith in the Bible fairytales. They turned away from their Son and Brother who loves them. They could not accept my meditation. Such stupid ignorance.

So you see I hated their religion because of it, with a passion. And I used that hatred to rocket me into my heart. You can use negative emotions thusly.

This is the Tao of Smelly.

It has been a pain in my heart these last 4 years of exploration. I didn’t want that to happen, but I could never be who they wanted me to be and I could never be one with myself fully until I let them go.

    Shrug.

The full moon is powerful. It pulls on my heart. I feel so much love.

This here Life has only been personal happening here now and I am grateful for the chance to have danced on the stage and shared what I learned with the world.

I have nothing for anyone but Love, an agape love I can barely understand washes over me and these are the my babbling words in response.

I’m tired and I want to rest now and just enjoy and walk through life like hobbit, nowhere to go and nothing to say.

I said it all here and left it all on the field.

And I met the Aliens even, and they were me, I am alienated from nothing anymore.

I’m leaving OMF now, but on the best terms, with Love overflowing in my heart for all I touched here and have been touched by.

Silly, I have tears running down my face, damn Moon.

You have your board back Cy and Dan, I am finished with it and I really won’t be back this way again. I will be watching from the sidelines though.

See you sometime again I’m sure. Peace and much Love from The Smelly Goat, be patient and kind with each other always.

Modern humans are inclined to believe in and worship divinity, and are so to such an extent that the loss of belief ends up having a traumatic impact on many of us. With that being understood, it should go without saying that it’s generally not a good idea to debate religion with people, especially your family and friends

    Eric, I love you man.

I'm sorry I had bring family into this yesterday.

I hope that what I said didn't sound like a condemnation to those who don't have a perfect flow and harmony with their own families, because I certainly do not.

I try to focus on myself and that's all I can do.

We can only control our own state of being and flow with the universe, but that doesn't make it easy to learn to overcome our natural tendencies towards resentment and heartache when others make choices that reject our individual flow and vibration, especially when it deals with immediate family.

I think it is the hardest thing in life to rise above resentment, heartache and injustice, to rise above it all and live in abundance, harmony and peace regardless of other people's treatment towards us or their state of being.

I am glad that you have chosen the higher ground and risen above it all.

You are an inspiration to me.

I have felt your overflowing state of love and peace here in OMF and it has filled me over and over again, so I hope that you really aren't finished here, but if you are, know you have left very large and beautiful footprints in the sandbox of my soul. You gave me a fishing rod and helped show me how to fish, when so many others have only given me fish.

I think maybe someday your Sister and Mother will come to realize that you perhaps understand the fairytales at an even higher frequency then they. You can see the reflections in them, where they might not yet. But even if they never come to understand it in this life, all is well.

The great thing is, those reflections teach us that it doesn't really matter.

Michael Jackson sang it right, "if you wanna make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and then make the change."

If anything matters, that is what matters.

You get that and not many in this world do.

Thank you for your words today. I really loved that quote from Marcus Aurelius. It was just what I needed.

It is indeed sad to think you will be on the sidelines now, but since you helped teach me to fish your influence and insight will always be with me like an eternal everlasting well. So though it is sad, it is also beautiful, just as everything is beautiful and perfect just as it is.

Part of me thinks you will be back soon enough, but if you don't mind, I would love to connect outside of OMF too. Smile If you so desire, PM me your email address and Facebook profile if you have one.

It's just His reaction to such a big moon.

Either that or him and Dan have at last got a hotel room.

Be careful there Waking, you are making assumptions again. He never said he debated his family over anything. Maybe he did, maybe he didn't. The only fact he pointed out was that they turned away from him because his beliefs and understanding was different than theirs.

The word "debate" caries a lot of extra meaning into the equation that might not actually be true.

Knowing Eric, I would venture to say that he is the sort of person who has very little use for debate in it's traditional form. He just is who he is, no need for him to prove it to others because he knows it.

A "debate" caries with it the form of a "mission". Whether it is a mission to defend one's own state or a mission to convert the other person's state. From what I have seen, Eric has no mission, and that is good.

I'm also making an assumption that you were implying that Smelly debated religion with his family, but I guess you didn't exactly say that.

You may have just been speaking in general terms, stating that it isn't a good idea for anyone to debate religion with family, in which case I agree with you completely. In fact, I think debating is quite useless in most cases.
