Where did all the Open Minds Forum members go?

Fri Oct 19, 2012 12:29 pm by Admin

With Open Minds Forum restored now for almost half a year at it's new location with forumotion.com we can now turn to look at reaching out to OMF's original members who have not yet returned home. OMF's original membership was over 6,000 members strong, prior to the proboards suspension, according to the rolls of the time. We can probably safely assume that some of those accounts were unidentified socks. If we were to assume a reasonable guess of maybe as many as 30% possible sock accounts then that would leave potentially somewhere between 4800 to 4900 possible real members to locate. That is still a substantial number of people.

Who were all these people? Some were average individuals with common interests in ufology, exopolitics, globalism, corruption, earthchanges, science and technology, and a variety of other interests. Some just enjoyed being part of a vibrant and unusually interesting community. Others were representative of various insider groups participating in observation and outreach projects, while still others were bonafide intelligence community personnel. All with stake in the hunt for truth in one fashion or another. Some in support of truth, and communication. Others seeking real disclosure and forms of proof. And others highly skeptical of anything or limited subjects. The smallest division of membership being wholly anti-disclosure oriented.

So where did these members vanish to? They had many options. There are almost innumerable other forums out there on the topics of UFO's or Exopolitics, the Unexplained, and Conspiracy Theory. Did they disappear into the world-wide network of forum inhabitants? Did some go find new homes on chatrooms or individual blogs? Did they participate in ufo conventions or other public events and gatherings? How about those who represented groups in special access? Or IC and military observers? Those with academic affiliations? Where did they all go and what would be the best way to reach out and extend an invitation to return?

And what constitutes a situation deserving of their time and participation? Is the archive enough? How exactly do people within the paradigm most desire to define a community? Is it amenities, humanity or simply population size for exposure? Most of the special guests have been emailed and have expressed that population size for exposure is what most motivates them. But not all. Long-time member Dan Smith has other priorities and values motivating his participation. Should this open opportunities for unattached junior guests who have experience and dialog to contribute to the world? How best to make use of OMF's time, experience and resources?

Many skeptics would like to see the historical guardian of discourse opportunity to just up and disappear; go into permanent stasis. They think that not everyone has a right to speak about their experiences and if there is no proof involved then there can philosophically be no value to discourse. I personally would respectfully disagree with them. Discourse has always been the prelude to meaningful relationships and meaningful mutual relationships have always been the prelude to exchanges of proof. In a contentious social environment with regards to communication vs disclosure how do we best re-establish a haven for those preludes? Is it only the "if we build it they will come" answer? Well considering OMF has been largely fully functional over the last four or five months this line of reasoning is not necessarily true. So what would be the best way re-establish this? Your suggestions are sought. Please comment.

Ok, here we go...... as I take a deep breath.......

Well, this post will be reserved as the topical reminder.  Hopefully the discussion will last for more that one page.

    Thank you, all,

Yes, we do have our differences, on the thread and on the forum.  I do seem to disappoint smelly, frequently....... I am unable to leave my struggles behind.

I struggle with bed bugs, for instance.  Baltimore is the number one hot spot for murders and bedbugs.  I wonder if they’re related.  Is it any accident?

    2:20..........

    Bedbugs are not reptiles.

Yes, bedbugs are annoying, but that’s not the main source of my struggle.

I’m much more concerned with the ontology of bugs, in general, and of the pestiferous kind, in particular.

It can be hard to live with bugs, but much harder to live without them, I’m thinking.

If bugs didn’t already exist we would have had to invent them, and, teleologically, we probably did.

We did invent atoms, after all, didn’t we?  I don’t think the bugs could have done that trick.

Part of my campaign platform would be to apologize for bugs.  And speaking of campaigns, here I am in Maine, and I haven’t gotten up the nerve to call my prospective state coordinator, Bill L.  According to our conspiracy guy, Bill is already in the employ of Tom D.  I’m not going to try to match his salary.  I would have to do a deal with Tom.  God knows what sort of deal.

Once we allow metabolism, atoms and bugs come along in the bargain.

Behind the green door, metabolism is left behind, I understand.

It is said that we leave our bodies behind.  We shape shift.

Our bodies are parasitic upon our spacetime consciousness.

How could we be present, without spacetime markers, of some sort?

Eventually, we transcend to be present with the Monad, beyond spacetime.  That is another order of presence, presumably.  This, here, is just for practice.

Atoms are parasitic upon our metabolism. And this is also known as God’s pleroma. Ontological fullness is the mark of Creation....... mama don’t allow no gaps. What can exist, will exist. Does God have to be quite so full of herself?

There are no snakes in Ireland also, hence few reptiles.

    Are bedbugs reptiles?

Get your hands on of a copy of "Behind the Green Door" you'll start imagining thingz alright.

This is a way sexist post so let me apologize in advance and say my blood sugar is way low. pirat Arrg

Plus I'm stuck in a Simon & Garfunkel time warp, maybe it's a parasite on my spacetime consciousness.  Idea Yeah yeah that's the ticket.

    Dan,

Forgive me if this is perhaps a stupid question but what is the Teleology for homo sapiens? Is it to know self? I am thinking as per T S Eliot's 'Little Gidding.'

"We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time."

I just tease you Dan, I am neither enthused nor disappointed by anything.

I have no problems, I’m grinning. Now that certainly wasn’t always so outwardly, but it always will be and has been true inside, at ground.

Look at the Hello thread if you like, or not.

I believe I have finally been able to frame in word, our differences of experience, none more or less valid.

I speak here honestly and nakedly always.

When I came here, I had come through profound peak experiences I was processing through, scoffing at type I mystical experience. Most follow experience here I would guess. There are surely some wolves here looking for kills, but mostly muppets.

Take it or leave it, best I have atm.

We all share the same space, it starts and ends there.

Went through all of BPW last night. Invigorating and worth another read at some point. Makes a lot of sense, but not sure what to do with it. So I posted a link to twitter and tagged the few folks who have brought me here. Of course I'm a nobody so no responses, so not sure what I'm looking for (I'm open to suggestions on next steps for a noob). We all want to be special right? Well, Dan wants to be a messiah according to his BPW website. But deep down, we probably all do.

    smelly,

Thanks for your post #560 on the Hello Cy thread, yesterday.  DE Harding is right up there, with the best.

He’s got pantheism down to a ‘t’.  He’s even got the Source.  History has him baffled...... so do bugs.  I don’t think that the agency would have made much sense to him, as an integral part of the BPWH.

    cwalla,

Thanks for stopping by.  ‘Messy-antics’ happens to the best of us.

One fine day....... personalism will have its day in court.  And, yes, I’m a cheater....... all is fair in messy antics.  It’s is not what you know.......

All the mystics think it’s about what you know or don’t know...... true until you mix it up with prophecy.

Even foot probably doesn’t know the full score.  Nobody does.  It keeps us all engaged.  I’ll probably get my fifteen minutes, when I’m long gone.  I don’t think humans will be long gone.

    12:10.........

Prigogine is the guru of the symbiosis between order and chaos.  Reality inhabits that knife edge.  Bugs of various kinds are a manifestation of our edginess.  Can’t live with..... can’t live without.

We have a symbiosis with atoms.   Nukes are but one tiny aspect.

We inhabit the knife edge between virus and dna.  It’s a long way down, on either side.  Personhood is that balancing act..... analysis v holism...... microcosm v macrocosm.  We inhabit islands of stability, like a quadcopter.

The Eschaton is an essential part of our condition.  We walk the tightrope between the Alpha and Omega.  But, as Prigogine suggests, it’s a self organizing system, and we reflect the cosmic self, especially in the logical, deep dimension of time.

It is out of that deep that the stars, atoms and bugs emerge...... from whence our nightmares emerge.  The hive abides.  The queen abides.

    1........

We are the city on the hill.  We manifest destiny, whether we like it or not, and mostly we don’t.  The beast slouches towards Bethlehem.

Our freedom is reflected in our poetry...... power is a fools errand.... into the wilderness.   No, freedom is a reflection of poetry.... it is the recognition of the necessary harmony of the spheres.  We are free to be amazed....... and amazed we will be by the endless beginning.... and the beginningless end.  Seriously, gogo, the world will not end.  Seriously, Kashmir, you will not die.... before or after..... the Beginning.

Only Kashmir may not be amazed.  She is one cool customer.

Yes, smelly, eternity is the redemption of time. How we struggle against redemption...... like the fish on the line that we are.

Wow the rabbit hole fell on me recently ...
And then I fell into the rat hole ...

I've seen things that make the Recent TTSA leak look like skittles ...
Someone else dropped an information bomb on me two weeks earlier ...
Enough info to make a serious UFO researcher crap their pants...maps, after action reports, conclusions. And much much much much more.
It's the kind of info you just can't even understand unless you have a very serious base knowledge.
Plus some documents and photos back to the 60s ...

    I wonder if I'm being baited… PAWNED ... or perhaps I'm just a magnet ...

But I put the pieces together ... I think very few truly understand this stuff ...

But all my previous TicTac videos were right… That's basically all I can say

    No one associated here...
... but ... could be distant friends ...
    1) mr. "Make America great again" is fascinated with the topic....

    2) there are beyond question numerous stove pipes that do not communicate still!

    3) likely, the government has noticed a correlation between events that tell a certain story... & the story is not good news ... or Pleasant.... but it is actionable.

    4) considering options that must be available to them, the visitors have been far more peaceful than we have and they have demonstrated a consistent desire to "turn the other cheek".

Easy to say from your position… Although I'm not afraid of Jail....
... i'm also not eager to inhibit my movement ....
... but don't worry my friend…that is my intention .... because light is the great disinfectant.… And all of this that has been kept in the dark must come to light ... for the betterment of all humanity & the preservation of our biosphere...

I have already informd AP that his "info" is scam so the "jail" excuse does not apply. AP is not being honest.
