We get to second guess both the past and the future.  

For instance, I fell into the Disclosure business when I contacted the foot, in 1991.  

Since then, I’ve had many chances to second guess Disclosure.  My speculations have uniformly failed, but each time my previous speculations have given way to greater possibilities.  

The drama of Disclosure combining with Impeachment is just the latest iteration of this succession of possibilities.  


I’m at pains to not allow the Monad to revert to Deism.  

Yes, it is too easy to slide from the Monad into the Olympiad....... into a celestial old boys club.  

The importance of interpersonalism cannot be stressed too much, except with the ultimate proviso...... the Infinite lies within the individual.  

But, hold on, is it not love that defines the infinite?

The individual is necessarily the repository of the infinite.  

The Monad is the repository of cosmic coherence.

This coherence may best be understood in terms of love/agape.  

The cosmic coherence is grounded in persons, and the interactions thereof.  

Cannot nature and the impersonal be included in the cosmic agape?  

Yes, but only as it is experienced and expressed through persons.  

Perhaps it should be stated that the Monad is not to be viewed as a person.  Christians might be viewed as taking Jesus to be the personification and incarnation of the Source.

May the Source not be viewed as three persons?  

The point is that persons are necessarily social.  Personhood may not be understood as an isolated phenomenon.  

The second point is that, besides persons, everything else exists in relation to persons.  

The infinite only exists through persons.  Every person is an essential aspect of the infinite.  

Persons are essentially transcendental beings.  Persons are essentially transpersonal.   That is a bit of a paradox..... but it is also a paradigm.  

We experience our transpersonal nature in love.  

Every individual person has direct knowledge and felt perception of the totality of being....... through the Source and Telos of Being.

Yes, there has been paranoia, on the part of both parties about a so-called ‘deep state’.

Or, look at it this way......... with what do we fill the best possible world?  

Why not fill the BPW with mini BPWs?  

That is basically what we have, with you and me being the microcosms.  

And, guess what?  You and I get to recreate Creation.  In fact, that recreation gets to our major recreation!

If one Creation is good, why not have an infinity of recreations?  

There is just one slight problem........

When does too much of good thing become......... too much?  

The answer would have been never........ had we managed to have made ourselves sustainable.  

But what is sustainable?  By most reckonings, where we are now is well beyond sustainable.  

What is to prevent us from expanding into space....... into virtual reality.......etc?  

Nothing in particular, but let’s get hold of ourselves.  

Aeons of effort have gone into making ours the best possible world...... the best possible Creation.  

Do we really want to set about reinventing that wheel?  

We’re really asking, when do microcosms become a brand new cosmos........ a brave new cosmos?  

Colonizing other worlds would certainly be a demarcation.  

But, then, what are all the other worlds for, if not for colonization?  

Ok, you asked for it....... here’s the truth.......

All those pretty lights in the sky........ they are for decoration.  

They are for our entertainment, enjoyment and edification.  

But, wait, it all looks so......... natural.  

That, my friends, is the lie.  

Are you angry about that?  Would you like your money back?  

Portals give the lie to our ‘natural’ world........ that’s the long and short of it.

The world to come.......... hmmm...... can we take a rain check on that?  

But we, humans, do have a curiosity........ about ourselves, and everything else.  I suspect that our curiosity will win out.  

We are constantly pushing against the boundaries of the known.  

But, yes, for most of us, the unknown is just a pig in a poke.  

It looks like we’re gonna get to poke the pig, sports fans.

Part of me resists this idea as stated.

All of nature is an appearance generating system. I would say the stars aren't any more lies than our bodies.

They happen and appear.

It is persons who generate appearances.  

I don’t believe there is such a thing as nature...... or anything apart from persons.  

The question is whether mind emerged from nature, or nature from mind?  

If we are naturalists, we can look around and suppose that everything emerged from nature.  What else?  Why not?  

Everything else is just superstition.  No?  


The dividing line between mind and nature concerns teleology.  

If teleology exists, then the Telos of nature is mind.  Then you have to decide which is in the driver’s seat....... the Alpha or the Omega.  

Only from the perspective of mind can the Telos even exist.  

I believe that we are being pulled forward toward the Omega/Telos/Source/Monad....... resistance is futile.  

The mere facts, the correspondence theory of truth does not support the existence of teleology.  

I do not subscribe to the correspondence theory.  Rather, I subscribe to Coherence.  

Coherence is all about the Telos.  

This is the basic distinction between mind and nature.  

I can lead you to Coherence.  I cannot make you embrace it.  

I embrace Coherence.  There is nothing else to embrace.  

Existentialism merely proves this point.  


Allow me to touch back on politics.......

There is a paranoid style in politics.  There is a well of paranoia in each of us.  We love nothing more than to connect the dots, and doing so often happens spontaneously, especially if we are hyper alert, we spook easily.

Some Barfield commentary I thought interesting...

Consider postmodern Barfield again. The appearances in Barfield’s Saving The Appearances, are ultimately united through polarity with phenomena-recapitulating the very history of that word-so that to rescue the one is to rescue the other by making luminous once more their face and thereby our relationship to them.

Furthermore, a participating relationship between subject and object, between percipient and phenomena, is ultimately for Barfield a polar one; and there is no time in the evolution of Western consciousness when human perception has not been in fact a participating, polar agency. But there certainly have been periods when the ordinary person’s awareness of this participation has been less, or even minimal. In the middle of the 19th century, for example, such sense of participation was so minimal that out of that experience came the twin doctrines of Darwinism and positivism. Even in our own time, our experience of participation is often minimal; however, we now have the capacity to reconsider it in the light of post-Cartesian philosophy, post-Newtonian physics, as well as post-critical thinking.

To really understand polarity at all is to understand polar-predominance, for equilibrium is by definition hardly ever the case. In Barfieldian original participation, the predominating pole was outside the human subject in the world itself. The evolution of consciousness in the West away from original participation has meant also the gradual reversal in predominance from the pole without to the pole within, toward self-consciousness. That centripetal polar-predominance probably reached its peak in the middle of the last century, and The Origin of Species along with the beginnings of positivism are in a sense its appropriate touchstones or markers. Admittedly it remains to be seen whether ecology, the new physics, a post-critical epistemology, or a truly comprehensive theorist like Barfield himself are rather early symptoms of a gradual re-reversal in polar-predominance from a somewhat imprisoning subjectivity outward toward the world and thus in the direction of something like “final participation.”

Barfield’s is surely a perspective and a body of thought which, without its exhibiting a scintilla of trendiness, deserves a more frequent hearing in this era of postmodern deconstruction with its denial of the sacramental “transparency” of language expostulated so extensively in Barfield.
