Where did all the Open Minds Forum members go?

Fri Oct 19, 2012 12:29 pm by Admin

With Open Minds Forum restored now for almost half a year at it's new location with forumotion.com we can now turn to look at reaching out to OMF's original members who have not yet returned home. OMF's original membership was over 6,000 members strong, prior to the proboards suspension, according to the rolls of the time. We can probably safely assume that some of those accounts were unidentified socks. If we were to assume a reasonable guess of maybe as many as 30% possible sock accounts then that would leave potentially somewhere between 4800 to 4900 possible real members to locate. That is still a substantial number of people.

Who were all these people? Some were average individuals with common interests in ufology, exopolitics, globalism, corruption, earthchanges, science and technology, and a variety of other interests. Some just enjoyed being part of a vibrant and unusually interesting community. Others were representative of various insider groups participating in observation and outreach projects, while still others were bonafide intelligence community personnel. All with stake in the hunt for truth in one fashion or another. Some in support of truth, and communication. Others seeking real disclosure and forms of proof. And others highly skeptical of anything or limited subjects. The smallest division of membership being wholly anti-disclosure oriented.

So where did these members vanish to? They had many options. There are almost innumerable other forums out there on the topics of UFO's or Exopolitics, the Unexplained, and Conspiracy Theory. Did they disappear into the world-wide network of forum inhabitants? Did some go find new homes on chatrooms or individual blogs? Did they participate in ufo conventions or other public events and gatherings? How about those who represented groups in special access? Or IC and military observers? Those with academic affiliations? Where did they all go and what would be the best way to reach out and extend an invitation to return?

And what constitutes a situation deserving of their time and participation? Is the archive enough? How exactly do people within the paradigm most desire to define a community? Is it amenities, humanity or simply population size for exposure? Most of the special guests have been emailed and have expressed that population size for exposure is what most motivates them. But not all. Long-time member Dan Smith has other priorities and values motivating his participation. Should this open opportunities for unattached junior guests who have experience and dialog to contribute to the world? How best to make use of OMF's time, experience and resources?

Many skeptics would like to see the historical guardian of discourse opportunity to just up and disappear; go into permanent stasis. They think that not everyone has a right to speak about their experiences and if there is no proof involved then there can philosophically be no value to discourse. I personally would respectfully disagree with them. Discourse has always been the prelude to meaningful relationships and meaningful mutual relationships have always been the prelude to exchanges of proof. In a contentious social environment with regards to communication vs disclosure how do we best re-establish a haven for those preludes? Is it only the "if we build it they will come" answer? Well considering OMF has been largely fully functional over the last four or five months this line of reasoning is not necessarily true. So what would be the best way re-establish this? Your suggestions are sought. Please comment.

So reign it in sloth and tighten that belt up, there is work to do and we can’t just go flitting around.

You do realize how funny you sound right here muppet?

Digging into history to remake yourself is in itself superficial muppet work

Right here and now nothing is needed

Loosen that belt up, there is no work to do

But I will do it with focus and discipline anyway, just to amuse myself.

“This life’s dim windows of the soul
Distorts the heavens from pole to pole
And leads you to believe a lie
When you see with, not through, the eye.”

    —William Blake

You prob don’t like him either, a bit too much of a Jesus lover for my taste, but I get his point...right between the eyes.

I just don’t abide the lazy and simple minded.

Damn, I guess I have to, hence my enslavement on OMF.

I pissed God and the Devil off something awful and they cursed me to write on OMF every day and suffer every kind of fool until it’s enough.

    Perhaps your vision is occluded.

That’s cool, so is everyone else’s.

Try looking through your eyes, not at things.

    Then what do you see?

It’s good to know what ground we stand on, high or low.

There is so much I could unpack in your words.

    But that wouldn’t help you.

You need to work it out yourself.

Jordan Peterson was a great way of helping with my garden. I think I’m gonna take care and love you. The only real thing is it. The best possible world I have. ya know. I don’t have any more clarity about this game or anything I would have been doing. I would like to be more like that.

Note: That question, btw, sprang forth from my automatic nervous system which makes it authentic as opposed to non-congruent, at least according to Peterson, right? IOW's, absolutely NO thought went into that question just before I typed it out.

Ok, how am I doing so far?

I mean, if a tree falls in a forest, and no one's around, do your palms (and your humor) even exist regardless if they are dry OR dirty?

    Thought for the day:
If you think that we're living in a very surreal world where the only way you can relate to it is on an existential level, they've got a clinical term for that kind of response and it's called dissociation.

It's Sunday morning and I should be at Mass now but I'm not. And why is that? We need a new Pope who will have the courage to dismantle the entire Vatican in Rome and revamp the Church from scratch. As for the Church as it exists right now... it's over baby... OVER. Talk about what's surreal and what's not... and what's EVIL and what's not... that one takes the cake.

    Gotta dissociate to associate.

    That’s what we all fear.

    Shrug.

    You are going to die.

Just face it straight on and relax.

It’s amazing how patient you become with everything when you accept reality and that most of your life is unreal.

People prefer the delusion to the real.

Accept responsibility for all of it.

I see the future and the future sees me!

    Immaterialism 2 - Page 28 D6739710

    Nature made lamb and tyger.

The Stars water the heavens with their tears over the suffering here.

    They throw their light down.

    Evil must be abided.

How more beautiful then to have darkness and the light.

I really am fortunate I met the darkness and it was my truest friend.

    Lucky I guess.

What a thing to be alive with words and senses and a mind and something unnamable watching through my eyez.

    Lucky I guess.

A mind filled with images perceivable. Gods and Daimons filling the sky. A Giant goat and green Giant. A Beast with sharp teeth gnashing.

    Lucky I guess.

And a little flower garden with the dogs out back playing and woman merged into me and I into her.

    Lucky I guess.
