Where did all the Open Minds Forum members go?

Fri Oct 19, 2012 12:29 pm by Admin

With Open Minds Forum restored now for almost half a year at it's new location with forumotion.com we can now turn to look at reaching out to OMF's original members who have not yet returned home. OMF's original membership was over 6,000 members strong, prior to the proboards suspension, according to the rolls of the time. We can probably safely assume that some of those accounts were unidentified socks. If we were to assume a reasonable guess of maybe as many as 30% possible sock accounts then that would leave potentially somewhere between 4800 to 4900 possible real members to locate. That is still a substantial number of people.

Who were all these people? Some were average individuals with common interests in ufology, exopolitics, globalism, corruption, earthchanges, science and technology, and a variety of other interests. Some just enjoyed being part of a vibrant and unusually interesting community. Others were representative of various insider groups participating in observation and outreach projects, while still others were bonafide intelligence community personnel. All with stake in the hunt for truth in one fashion or another. Some in support of truth, and communication. Others seeking real disclosure and forms of proof. And others highly skeptical of anything or limited subjects. The smallest division of membership being wholly anti-disclosure oriented.

So where did these members vanish to? They had many options. There are almost innumerable other forums out there on the topics of UFO's or Exopolitics, the Unexplained, and Conspiracy Theory. Did they disappear into the world-wide network of forum inhabitants? Did some go find new homes on chatrooms or individual blogs? Did they participate in ufo conventions or other public events and gatherings? How about those who represented groups in special access? Or IC and military observers? Those with academic affiliations? Where did they all go and what would be the best way to reach out and extend an invitation to return?

And what constitutes a situation deserving of their time and participation? Is the archive enough? How exactly do people within the paradigm most desire to define a community? Is it amenities, humanity or simply population size for exposure? Most of the special guests have been emailed and have expressed that population size for exposure is what most motivates them. But not all. Long-time member Dan Smith has other priorities and values motivating his participation. Should this open opportunities for unattached junior guests who have experience and dialog to contribute to the world? How best to make use of OMF's time, experience and resources?

Many skeptics would like to see the historical guardian of discourse opportunity to just up and disappear; go into permanent stasis. They think that not everyone has a right to speak about their experiences and if there is no proof involved then there can philosophically be no value to discourse. I personally would respectfully disagree with them. Discourse has always been the prelude to meaningful relationships and meaningful mutual relationships have always been the prelude to exchanges of proof. In a contentious social environment with regards to communication vs disclosure how do we best re-establish a haven for those preludes? Is it only the "if we build it they will come" answer? Well considering OMF has been largely fully functional over the last four or five months this line of reasoning is not necessarily true. So what would be the best way re-establish this? Your suggestions are sought. Please comment.

The tech concepts and terms you have mentioned I am a little lost on.

I think I will need to go back and look these up to gain a better grasp of their meaning, function or role, however, I am used to looking things up for OMF Smile I see this as a welcome part of the learning.

All that said, I can see a potential link between IT and tech systems, structures and consciousness. Smile

Curiously, I am finding of late, that I am 'revisiting' things that I looked at, read, watched or experienced in times previous, which are now coming back to me offering a new understanding or meaning.

I sense this aligns with the BPW principals that you will know things as and when you need to know them Smile

    CS,

The BPW is the best possible operating system upgrade.

As you said, you will learn things as and when you need to.

Sometimes the best possible learning turns out to be the best possible unlearning also.

“Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.” - Rumi

Maybe as 'small mind' unlearns, or at least loosens its grip, then those parts of the code go out of scope and are marked for garbage collection and the space it took up is free for new 'big mind' code to be uploaded. This is when our leave nodes in the hierarchical network become integrated with a more clear and direct pointer to the root node and we gain access to both our individual leave node and the root node, and as we gain access to the root node we become more directly connected to other leave nodes in a more mesh-like sort of network.

    Wink Hehe

(Sorry for the tech talk, Smelly and I are software engineers and are just letting it flow unfiltered. Take it with a grain of salt.)

In computer networking systems, mesh networks is a kind of network topology in which the infrastructure nodes (i.e. bridges, switches and other infrastructure devices) connect directly, dynamically and non-hierarchically to as many other nodes as possible and cooperate with one another to efficiently route data from/to clients. This lack of dependency on one node allows for every node to participate in the relay of information.

    Thanks Sloth

Really appreciate your post and the earlier one with the dragonfly video.. nature is a wonderful teacher.

I agree with your comments re the BPW and Rumi, whole heartedly.

Also the small mind / big mind relates to a thing I have been contemplating of late, albeit without the IT systems / network basis. I do see possibly how if you are using a computer based analogy 'lines of code' could be added, deleted, replaced or potentially even new programs etc 'installed' to run at a local level. Also if the 'network access' was improved and upgraded in performance terms this would be significant.

By the way the overview of a mesh network is really helpful. Thanks Smile

    CS,

Performance upgrade is also useful, yes. That's like the dragonfly upgrade to get more bank for your buck out of time maybe. The Kianu Reeves matrix karate upgrade.

Am I ready for what I experienced tonight with Dan, I guess I am, or it wouldn’t have happened.

I won’t speak for Dan, but I just spent 4 hours on the phone with him, he had been drinking and I had been smoking some MJ, we do or best talking then.

He gave me a Masters Level course in a wide range of topics.

Man, he knows a lot, I felt like a dumb kid, but I held my own.

    We were doing scrying together.

I would share something I was reading or learning and he would bounce off of that and take me somewhere I would just say, like, yah, wow, ok. He would give me things and then he would say to google things and then I would find another reference in some other thread.

I could have done that all day, crazy fun.

As if I had conjured a Daimon and he was instructing me, exactly like that.

I read some of Colin Wilson’s The Outsider, Owen Barfield’s Rediscovery of Meaning and Carl Jung’s The Red Book to him, you can imagine where that might lead, well, it leads to imagination and the small world.

    He called me btw.

Yes, there is an evolution and change of tone here on OMF, which we all are contributing here  to.

I have been sharing in automatic mode on OMF, so something seems to have come through.

He tried to show me something, but it is no longer coherent with my experience today I fear.

It’s his connection to fulfill the Christian prophecy I can’t abide, it is toxic to my Outsider ears, we have covered they are locked in a pathological spiral, but he has to complete it.

Of all the humans I have known, he might be able to pull it off, but who cares to listen to a chicken, goat, princess and assasin, I would, but I’m crazy.

I will tell you Dan and I are insane muppets.

But Dan is a connected one, I am the least of these.

If you embark on the authentic self inquisition required to wake yourself up and maintain, you have two choices, live in dishonesty under some delusion or go crazy.

Once you open the portal, it won’t stop.

One funny moment, he called me an illegitimate bastard barbarian in Latin.

His prep school motto to not let bastards wear you down, ok.

So later I was reading this passage in the Outsider to him I read last night and it was talking about salauds.

    That’s French for bastard, bahahaha.

Pg. 24 randomly read in several books pointing back to almost all we had discussed.

Hmm, what to make of it?

Dan says he will stop coming to OMF and I will take over for him, hmm.

I see the archetype of Jesus can be realized by anyone, I don’t believe in a historical second coming.

I don’t believe in anything reallly anymore, they all had to go.

Perhaps that disqualifies me, well, that’s my story and I must stick to it, come hell or high water.

    Some readings for you...

There is a coherency to some of this, but you have to be crazy to see it.

I really really really feel Barifield is one of the wisest people I have read with such a joy and kindness, that’s the sign of final participation.

And folks, all of this, I mean all of this is about direct participation with reality.

But we are faced with some big realities all must wrestle with, we are stretched between God and Misery, oh what to do, what to do, well, do not doing to start with, I know that much.

Wu Wei baby saves the Day.

Have no fear ultimately, it’s fun to face you have no freedom maybe, what does that mean then ultimately for us?

These to me are the deepest questions to ask and ultimately UFO bullshit just gets in the way of the true search or sets you on the straight course of Disclosure.

Well, I am no man of letters, but I’m a hell of a good engineer. I’ll be the best student of Barfield and Colin Wilson I can be and pick up where they point.

Because there is a mesh network here called the Inklings that you should try to connect to.

I think this is all part of the key to Everything.

    I really do.

Is the princess a root node in this network, Dan thinks so. That’s powerful proof for me. If I can ever get close to her, we shall see, we shall see.

He wants to give me just enough rope to hang myself.

Well, guess what Dan, been there, done that.

I promise Wilson and Barfield and Dan I will not stop until I die.

I will dig where they dug and see what more there is to find.

Dan, you need to do more fireside chats.

    Who is this Dude?!

He isn’t a relaxed Dude per se, but he has a deep methodical focus to him that can be hypnotic and attractive to an Outsider.

I am much quicker than him, but he is helping me to lower the flame a bit and I’m pretty settled down at this point.

I’m not deconstructing everything anymore, now I am putting things together from history to now.

He isn’t reading from a script, I’ll tell you.

I would add to this that nothing in life leaves us until we have learned what we need to from it.

Sometimes the hardest part is learning to accept and integrate the lessons we learn, so we can move further up the trail to Cold Mountain.

Is Dan really leaving the blog?

Is Smelly really filling in for Dan?

    Haha....excellent....

Let’s kick this off then the proper way

I feel to say let’s remember there is no hierarchy, as Smelly was saying, we all have access to the root node.

There are no masters here, only students.

We are all students of ourselves on a journey with no end.

Fall in love with the journey, and forget the destination.

    You are the destination.

We help each other point to themselves.

We Wei is the only way.

    Do what though wilt.

    Live and let live.

There is no seniority as we are all essentially the same at our core...infinite and eternal.

Let us remember, we don’t need no thought control, we just need the Great Mother’s endless flow....and we have her forever Dudes, so take her easy.

    https://youtu.be/YR5ApYxkU-U

    Cool

    Straight on

Smelly is going to dig into Wilson and Barfield

I think both he and I know what he will find already.

Nothing wrong with merging the angles to get a clearer picture maybe

I see IT with perfect clarity even as I dig for more clarity

I do worry for Smelly sometimes that he keeps digging and digging for IT, when he IS IT, but he knows this already.

When you dig into it and get close to zero it breaks down into nonesense and paradoxes.

He is just going with the flow.

I trust he maintains his center and peace as he searches for himself.

He seems to me working from the center and circumference both at the same time.

Is he the perfect union of contrary things?

We learn to trust others in their flow.

I recognize my own ego and judgements in worrying for Smelly.

He has a lot of energy.

Maybe it is Zero point energy.

    Carry on Smelly.

    Wei we Wei....always

You come into your own self mastery.

But it takes vigilance to stay centered.

    We should all compare notes.

As Dan says, you have to do the work and make your own connections to make it real.

It’s worth doing and wrestling with thyself.

All those voices inside are yours.

They are ultimately your greatest allies.

But you have to face them and gain their respect.

    This is not a competition.

No other way but your way.

My key only fits my lock.

We have nothing for anyone else ultimately.

    You have to create yourself.

    Only the courageous will.

The rest are dishonest pretenders and I can smell you.

    I will push you over.

    I will offend.

But if you do the work, you will have my respect.

But only your respect for yourself as a whole human being matters.

    Share what you find.

    Put your shoulders into it.

Relaxed lion like focus not laziness is the Dudes way.

I’ll be writing a lot about my bicameral mind studies, AI, consciousness, Barfield.

But I won’t be sharing much in the Way of inspiration.

This is a lot to wade through and I will give it all proper time.

You all do as you like.

    I’m not taking over anything.

    I just showed up.

Showing up is most of it.

Being here now is all of IT.

    Smelly,

    I agree with you completely.

    Have I gained your respect?

    I believe I have.

I just like to challenge you a little Dude.

    Keep you frosty.

    Wink

I wasn’t speaking to anyone per se sloth and if one respects themselves, it’s clear.

You have taken responsibility for you it seems sloth, but only you know ultimately.

Dan was drunk PF, I’m sure he is capable of anything.

Hell, I even think he is connected to a root node, so I’m the fool I guess.

I don't know if Dan is completely out yet, but he seems to be moving in that direction.....maybe

My guess is he will still be blogging some, but maybe not as much as he used to.

    Who knows.

It is a comfort to me that he has found comfort in us continuing on his work and flow here.

We won't stop until our last heartbeat.

Relaxed lion like focus, as Smelly puts it.

May we have his respect and confidence in doing so.

Most of all, may we keep the flow from nowhere strong and true, doing not-doing.

May we help each other find peace and presence and awareness and agape love when called upon, loving each exactly where they are on their own journey and respecting each others path.

May we be a refuge place for Outsiders and help lead each other by example as the world transitions from a separation of Church and State, to that of a single unified vision.

And then maybe go big boom again and do it all over again.

    Smelly,

Are you a fellow GT grad?

    No.

    And what’s your story cw?

    My story….hmmm

I’m a ramblin wreck who wasn’t really cut out for engineering and ended up in corporate finance only to realize I should have probably done something else, but realize that something else is everything else that would have eventually led me back to where I am now, sitting here typing this to you.

Really I’m just a human, an American human, who’s experienced a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of the suffering that the majority of humans have experienced yet I still suffer.

So I look to the sky and the internet for meaning, only to find nuggets along the way that provide perspective but no meaning.

Intellectually I know the meaning is inside, but I don’t know where to look… my brain, my heart, my toe?  It’s definitely not my penis… there’s only chaos there.

I’m leaning towards my heart as the spot with an X where the treasure may be…. as I can see how empty it is, yet vulnerable and filling it can also be.

I’m trying to figure out why yin and yang consumes all of my reality without it driving me crazy.  Your comment earlier sums up my current fork:

“If you embark on the authentic self inquisition required to wake yourself up and maintain, you have two choices, live in dishonesty under some delusion or go crazy.”

Which path I take is unknowable without disturbing the wave, just like quantum mechanics, another obsession of mine.  Only I’m not near smart enough to have a real conversation with someone like Dan or Jack about it.  So I appeal to authority which means I trust no one or no thing.  Of course I'm only obsessed with it because it's magical.

I crave magic and information (especially the inside kind) and anyone who says they don't is probably lying.  Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth, but are those that saw miracles more blessed?

John 4:48:  Jesus said to him, “Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will never believe.”

A thought just came to me.

Lau Tzu said the words written in the Tao Te Ching are only fingers pointing at the moon, don't look at the fingers.

I would say the Tao Te Ching, which is fingers pointing at the moon, is itself the moon.

'I am' is the pointing at the moon and the moon both in One.

There is no separation or distinction between any of the abstractions and what the abstractions are an abstraction of.

    There is only 'I am'.

    There is only this Now.

    There is that there is

    The play is the play

    The play is

    is is

    is

    .

    Bahahaha

But they are fun to play with and you can get into orbit with it.

Everything has basically two aspects seen and unseen.

I like this passage from Aleister Crowley I have posted before about how it all boils down to Zero and the value of going inside to face the Great Dragon.

    ...

"We believe in nothing Lebowski" Karl Hungus -Nihiist

    From the Desert... http://lib.oto-usa.org/crowley/essays/desert.html

    "What is then the essential?

To cure the patient once; to give him faith in the efficacy of the remedy, so that perchance he falls sick, and no doctor is near, he may be able to cure himself.

If Thought then be that which troubles the soul, there is but one way to take. Stop thinking.
It is the most difficult task that man can undertake. “Give me a fulcrum for my lever,” said Archimedes, “and I will move the earth.” But how, when one is within, and part of, that very system of motion which one had desired to stop? Newton’s first law drops like the headsman’s axe on the very name of our endeavour. Well for us that this is not true as it is obvious! For this fact saves us, that the resolution of all these is rest. The motion is but in reciprocal pairs; the sum of its vectors is zero. The knot of the Universe is a fool’s knot; for all it seems Gordian, pull but firmly, and it ravels out. It is this seeming that is all the mischief; gloomy is the gulf, and the clouds gather angrily in monstrous shapes; the false moon flickers behind them; abyss upon abyss opens on every hand. Darkness and menace; the fierce sound of hostile things!

One glimmer of starlight, and behold the golden bridge! Narrow and straight, keen as the razor’s edge and glittering as the sword’s blade, a proper bridge if thou leanest not to right or left. Cross it — good! but all this is in the dream. Wake! Thou shalt know that all together, gulf, moon, bridge, dragon and the rest, were but the phantasms of sleep howbeit, remember this, that to cross the bridge in sleep is the only way to waking."

Its all just a state of mind.

You can learn to access your meta programming layer and create yourself as you like using this gift inside called True Will.

If you don't know what your will is, well, keep going, you may run into it many times before you see what your organizing principles and idea is.

Without an organizing idea we flounder in a sea of mediocrity and muppets.

You can become the man in the high tower or the one tilling his fields, getting his hands dirty and playing in the deep woods.

Dan and I are asking the question, is it really our choice?

What does free will and perceived loss of freedom mean?

You have to toughen yourself and become strong cw.

    You are not lame!

    Get up and walk!

This world is ours to make as we will under love, love under will is the whole of the Law.

Not a bad place to start...start writing, this more than anything else helped me clear up my thinking and I aspire to greater eloquence in communication of ideas.

"The primary reason to write an essay is so that the writer can formulate and organize an informed, coherent and sophisticated set of ideas about something important."

I have a lyrical style of automatic writing myself. It doesn't usually follow normal conventions.

    Is life not lyrical?

It's just a bunch of opposing symbols to learn to work with and make meaning from for you.

    https://medium.com/practicecomesfirst/dr-jordan-b-petersons-10-step-guide-to-clearer-thinking-through-essay-writing-1ab79a94937

The Outsider is a great introduction to your soul, I recommend reading it and discussing it here. What else is there to talk about?

We live between the heights and despair, you can put yourself back up into the Stars.

The salvation for the Outsider is in the extremes, but you come to rest in a nice comfy spot when you settle all your personal nonsense, but not too comfortable, it's one helluva ride.
