Where did all the Open Minds Forum members go?

Fri Oct 19, 2012 12:29 pm by Admin

With Open Minds Forum restored now for almost half a year at it's new location with forumotion.com we can now turn to look at reaching out to OMF's original members who have not yet returned home. OMF's original membership was over 6,000 members strong, prior to the proboards suspension, according to the rolls of the time. We can probably safely assume that some of those accounts were unidentified socks. If we were to assume a reasonable guess of maybe as many as 30% possible sock accounts then that would leave potentially somewhere between 4800 to 4900 possible real members to locate. That is still a substantial number of people.

Who were all these people? Some were average individuals with common interests in ufology, exopolitics, globalism, corruption, earthchanges, science and technology, and a variety of other interests. Some just enjoyed being part of a vibrant and unusually interesting community. Others were representative of various insider groups participating in observation and outreach projects, while still others were bonafide intelligence community personnel. All with stake in the hunt for truth in one fashion or another. Some in support of truth, and communication. Others seeking real disclosure and forms of proof. And others highly skeptical of anything or limited subjects. The smallest division of membership being wholly anti-disclosure oriented.

So where did these members vanish to? They had many options. There are almost innumerable other forums out there on the topics of UFO's or Exopolitics, the Unexplained, and Conspiracy Theory. Did they disappear into the world-wide network of forum inhabitants? Did some go find new homes on chatrooms or individual blogs? Did they participate in ufo conventions or other public events and gatherings? How about those who represented groups in special access? Or IC and military observers? Those with academic affiliations? Where did they all go and what would be the best way to reach out and extend an invitation to return?

And what constitutes a situation deserving of their time and participation? Is the archive enough? How exactly do people within the paradigm most desire to define a community? Is it amenities, humanity or simply population size for exposure? Most of the special guests have been emailed and have expressed that population size for exposure is what most motivates them. But not all. Long-time member Dan Smith has other priorities and values motivating his participation. Should this open opportunities for unattached junior guests who have experience and dialog to contribute to the world? How best to make use of OMF's time, experience and resources?

Many skeptics would like to see the historical guardian of discourse opportunity to just up and disappear; go into permanent stasis. They think that not everyone has a right to speak about their experiences and if there is no proof involved then there can philosophically be no value to discourse. I personally would respectfully disagree with them. Discourse has always been the prelude to meaningful relationships and meaningful mutual relationships have always been the prelude to exchanges of proof. In a contentious social environment with regards to communication vs disclosure how do we best re-establish a haven for those preludes? Is it only the "if we build it they will come" answer? Well considering OMF has been largely fully functional over the last four or five months this line of reasoning is not necessarily true. So what would be the best way re-establish this? Your suggestions are sought. Please comment.

The Smelly Goat the wind did float
    The passers people buying
Beneath the stream of heaven’s boat
    Heard she the whistle crying

What smote thy kin of yesteryear’,
    She asked the brazen beast.
Have you not come from one before
    From whence appears this feast?’

    The goat continued as before,
    All concepts put to bed.
He danced and laughed and thought it fun
    To play inside his head.
Beware’, said she, the hour has come
For those that have been led.
Thy mother gave you life and love
And now you claim her dead.’

    Mother Nature needs no name
She awaits on the other side of the flame

One day I will be dead
Then she can have her way with my head

Perhaps the goat knows the best Way
Charon the boatman indeed you will pay

Search your pockets you will for the price
But the boatman beckons and is not nice

The goal in life was to become light as a feather
Too heavy and the boat goes down in the weather

If you think there is another way
Then please for the benefit of all do say

    Perhaps you are pretending
Careful or that may lead to an unhappy ending

You just can’t seem to see the point
Oh well, I can always just take another drag on my joint

Nonsense is the game it plays now
    And Alice is the key.
The world she wished for come to play
    Inviting her to tea.
For nothing is just what it is,
    Bee being not to be.

What was it that she thought or dreamed
    Is playing out it’s end.
This non-dual thing we call our life
    Is such a silly friend.
It watches us as we watch it
    But only goats attend.

How does the goat who makes his path
    Define reality?
He makes it real before it’s real
    Ascending up the tree.
But is this goat the smelly goat
Or is it One of three?

If you wonder about mom and dad
They let ME use their pad

We wander the path until there is no path
No need to know any God’s wrath

    Once were you born
    No need to be forlorn

You will shine as a star
If you discover who you are

Meaning is only what you make
But unfortunately most are just on the take

In the end we all will see
What life is like as a bee
And never ever was there a place to flee

Let us put it very simply and restate our primary finding...

Reality is mutable and changeable by the subjective Observer.

    This is Chapel perilous.

Anything anyone could say is an abstraction and should not be confused with an objective, permanent reality.

You accept this or don’t, that’s what all of this about.

    All of it.

Dan and maybe Ron and the Princess hope the right people realize this, but no one knows who the right or wrong ones are.

    Right by whose abstraction?

    You see the problem.

Like Robert Anton Wilson, the lunatic and merry maker, I do not allow myself to become convinced of any reality apart from my perception of them. Specific paranormal personal and group experiences should be taken as abstractions only. He calls this approach "model agnosticism".

It keeps the head and heart clear to be free to act in the moment doing not doing.

I can’t commit to anything but change.

    Nothing is permanent but change.

So what to do...don’t know...straight on.

    hobbit,

Yes, evidently, Grebennikov is tuned into the hive.  So is Joe, but he doesn’t understand as well.

    dd,

Fr SR might provide a bit of meditation between smelly and me.....

SR and smelly ascribe similar renunciations of reason, and the futility of us, ‘muppets’ seeking truth.

SR suggests a surrender to blind faith.  smelly suggests a surrender to blind love.  Both are very similar paths.  SR’s path is much more institutionalized.

smelly would say to SR that the truth lies within.  SR denies this.  I agree with smelly, on this point..... love lies within.

Jesus expressed smelly point...... the firstest with the mostest.

But smelly has a mommy issue........

It is far from clear to smelly why he ever had to be born. He has much more fun on the other side. He resents his mother for have been complicit in bringing him down this particular rabbit hole, or any hole at all.

I like seeing Dan write “muppets.”

    It warms the heart.

Humans have been tormented by reason long enough, our natural expression  is melodic and poetic.

Turns out all the grown ups are ghosts filling my world with useless shit.

Trump has led the rebellion against reason for simple greed, but the bigger play is to surge over reason like Noah’s flood.

They will fight in the streets to be right.

    Well, not all are insane.

If you like Owen Barfield Dan, then you should know this is his central theme, the imagination is the key.

Hang on, smelly...... first we have to deal with your mommy issue.......

    99, posted a link yesterday evening....... https://openmindsforum.forumotion.com/t312-massive-genetic-study-reveals-90-percent-of-earths-animals-appeared-at-the-same-time#14789

Check out the original publication....... https://phe.rockefeller.edu/news/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Stoeckle-Thaler-Final-reduced.pdf

Even genetics can lead in unforeseen directions.

It’s all about the COI barcoding.  Yes, how quickly two centuries of evolutionism can be overturned.

    And check out...... https://phys.org/news/2018-05-gene-survey-reveals-facets-evolution.html
Who would have suspected that a handheld genetic test used to unmask sushi bars pawning off tilapia for tuna could deliver deep insights into evolution, including how new species emerge?
The study's most startling result, perhaps, is that nine out of 10 species on Earth today, including humans, came into being 100,000 to 200,000 years ago.

"This conclusion is very surprising, and I fought against it as hard as I could," Thaler told AFP.

Was there some catastrophic event 200,000 years ago that nearly wiped the slate clean?

Hmmm....... you might want to try the Alpha event.

The hive is buzzing loud today. I think the Queen is on display.

The Rabbit has lost track of time. The Scribe keeps moving like a mime.

Showing what cannot be seen, he plants a little magic bean.

The Goat plays games on the mountain pass, just eating flowers and passing gas.

The painter paints the earth and skies, his masterpiece is when he dies.

The Frog has disappeared too soon. Perhaps he’s dancing with the moon.

The Princess and her pod work hard, protecting the last crystal shard.

The dream plays on just as before, but now there is a brand new door.

Who opens it and goes inside will never meet their last demise.

We can learn to control and direct our imaginations.

There is no action that will help anyone.

We can stop moving and feel the flow.

“The one thing the separate self cannot stand is being clearly seen. To see the separate self clearly is to see its non-existence.”

    —Rupert Spira

No one wants this Awareness really, but facing it is the only way across the gateless gate.

You were born for a little while.

    Enjoy it.

You don’t have to save reality, it’s perfectly fine.

I will live this among the muppets.

I know it works for people.

My friend yesterday, so often crying out, found some peace. I saw what he needed and it led to a lot deeper, he’s been fighting himself for years, he’s tired. He wrote a poem and said it felt like Magick.

He wasn’t crying out, he was dancing.

    That’s the Way!

    Dan, "the Alpha Event" indeed!

The ramifications of this study is mind boggling to say the least! So what's claimed in the Book of Genesis that the Creator created all life on this planet at the same time now rings more true than ever before. This research, more or less, supports that contention, doesn't it? It also reminds us and perhaps even explains to us why there are so many ‘missing links’ in the evolutionary timelines of countless species because “species have very clear genetic boundaries, and there's nothing much in between”.

Anyway, I'm still processing all of this and doing more research on it. Still have to read over the original study and thanks for posting a link to that!

    smelly,

Remind us, what it is that you don’t like about Creation.

    4:15........

I’ve told Kevin that I’ll go along with Disclosure by the Lake, even with Joe in charge of it, even if most of us know that it is being misconstrued.  It will still move the game forward, and it won’t be kicking any sleeping dogs.

We need Kevin to put up with Joe, and be the liaison with the Mormon Church.

    Here's some poetry for everyone.
Not good enough to write my own .. so will us one else's words.

Why, you wanna tell me how to live my life?
Who, are you to tell me if it's black or white?
Mama, can you hear me? try to understand
Is innocence the difference between a boy and a man
My daddy lived the lie, it's just the price that he paid
Sacrificed his life, just slavin' away

Oh, if there's one thing I hang onto
That gets me through the night
    I ain't gonna do what I don't want to
    I'm gonna live my life
Shining like a diamond, rolling with the dice
Standing on the ledge, I show the wind how to fly
When the world gets in my face
I say, have a nice day
    Have a nice day

Take a look around you; nothing's what it seems
We're living in the broken home of hopes and dreams
Let me be the first to shake a helping hand
Anybody brave enough to take a stand
I've knocked on every door, on every dead end street
    Looking for forgiveness
    What's left to believe?

Oh, if there's one thing I hang onto
That gets me through the night
    I ain't gonna do what I don't want to
    I'm gonna live my life
Shining like a diamond, rolling with the dice
Standing on the ledge, I show the wind how to fly
When the world gets in my face
I say, have a nice day
    Have a nice day

Oh, if there's one thing I hang onto
That gets me through the night
    I ain't gonna do what I don't want to
    I'm gonna live my life
Shining like a diamond, rolling with the dice
Standing on the ledge, I show the wind how to fly
When the world gets in my face
I say, have a nice day
    Have a nice day
    Have a nice day
    Have a nice day
    Have a nice day

When the world keeps trying, to drag me down
I've gotta raise my hands, gonna stand my ground
Well I say, have a nice day
    Have a nice day
    Have a nice day

hope everyone has a nice day

    Good one Sign...

I say why even try if you aren’t willing to lose it all and go all the way.

The only way what I realized happened was going ALl THE WAY short of suicide.

It takes that kind of desperation to break your conditioning.

    FOLLOWING

You are already realized. It is critical to
understand this. Enlightenment is less a
matter of charging forward to achieve
something, and more one of doing not-doing
-- of leaning slightly back and silently
    accepting its constant presence.

Once you have done this, go on practicing.
    Without straining, continually pour the
emptiness of your being into the emptiness
of existence, and drink what comes back:
    emptiness.

    —Wei Wu Wei

I think writing our other aspects poems is a good way to introduce each other. It changes you.

The Smelly Goat loves Charles’ raw view of life, that people were more like this, no bullshitz.

All caught up in the story and drama.

So You Want to Be a Writer?

if it doesn't come bursting out of you
    in spite of everything,
    don't do it.
unless it comes unasked out of your
heart and your mind and your mouth
    and your gut,
    don't do it.
if you have to sit for hours
    staring at your computer screen
    or hunched over your
    typewriter
    searching for words,
    don't do it.
if you're doing it for money or
    fame,
    don't do it.
if you're doing it because you want
    women in your bed,
    don't do it.
if you have to sit there and
    rewrite it again and again,
    don't do it.
if it's hard work just thinking about doing it,
    don't do it.
if you're trying to write like somebody
    else,
    forget about it.
if you have to wait for it to roar out of
    you,
    then wait patiently.
if it never does roar out of you,
    do something else.

if you first have to read it to your wife
or your girlfriend or your boyfriend
or your parents or to anybody at all,
    you're not ready.

don't be like so many writers,
don't be like so many thousands of
    people who call themselves writers,
don't be dull and boring and
pretentious, don't be consumed with self-
    love.
the libraries of the world have
    yawned themselves to
    sleep
    over your kind.
    don't add to that.
    don't do it.
    unless it comes out of
    your soul like a rocket,
    unless being still would
    drive you to madness or
    suicide or murder,
    don't do it.
unless the sun inside you is
    burning your gut,
    don't do it.

    when it is truly time,
and if you have been chosen,
    it will do it by
itself and it will keep on doing it
until you die or it dies in you.

    there is no other way.

    and there never was.

Great stuff, eh?! The real deal.

Just do it...doing not doing, spontaneous.

I don’t claim to be a good writer, but I began writing poetry and esoteric stuff spontaneously.

I only share that to say, how?

It is my own personal miracle and aroma of what is inside us.

I know better how now, but I wrote things I couldn’t know and it was just spot on.

It was miraculous and when you feel something to say, you will say it, nothing could stop you.

You feel exposed and silly, but free.

I don’t have any choice anymore personally.

We all have these latent talents, and some have their genius on full display.

It is a wonder to me.

I wrote for a year straight.

If you go to http://quantumunderground.com, my blog, and go to the very first post years ago, that poem came to me like a bolt of lightening and then people from all over started connecting.

I never wrote a thing until that poem, well I wrote Jack Sarfatti two letters that I spent a week working on.

    I don’t know why?

I just felt it very urgent to write a stranger for the first time in my life.

And he wasn’t even that interesting, but he was connected to everything.

What a miracle inside of us.

Wow, it’s been 3 years since I began writing.

A writer and I didn’t even know I loved it.

    O...K...

Back in the real world, I'm all for everybody quitting the airy-fairy esoteric bs talk - especially the bad poetry - and getting down to brass tacks about UFO disclosure.

    Begin...!

smelly would say to SR that the truth lies within.  SR denies this.  I agree with smelly, on this point..... love lies within.

Laughing That's right! I haven't stopped shouting that: "Truth DOESN'T  lie within!" since I got here, have I?!" Laughing  Rolling Eyes

If there is no 'outside' then EVERYTHING is within - including curiosity about the UFO coverup and the coverup itself.

If anyone wants to argue that there actually IS an 'outside', i.e. duality is real and not an illusion, and that we are the subject and the universe is the object, THEN IT WOULD BE INSANITY NOT TO WANT TO INVESTIGATE THE MYSTERIES OF THE OBJECTIVE WORLD!

You can't have it both ways, folks.

So tired of all this fuzzy thinking.

But any time the UFO or alien issue is mentioned, the schizophrenic company response is: "Don't worry about that - look within."

    Massive yawn.

    It's just deflection and nonsense.
