Where did all the Open Minds Forum members go?

Fri Oct 19, 2012 12:29 pm by Admin

With Open Minds Forum restored now for almost half a year at it's new location with forumotion.com we can now turn to look at reaching out to OMF's original members who have not yet returned home. OMF's original membership was over 6,000 members strong, prior to the proboards suspension, according to the rolls of the time. We can probably safely assume that some of those accounts were unidentified socks. If we were to assume a reasonable guess of maybe as many as 30% possible sock accounts then that would leave potentially somewhere between 4800 to 4900 possible real members to locate. That is still a substantial number of people.

Who were all these people? Some were average individuals with common interests in ufology, exopolitics, globalism, corruption, earthchanges, science and technology, and a variety of other interests. Some just enjoyed being part of a vibrant and unusually interesting community. Others were representative of various insider groups participating in observation and outreach projects, while still others were bonafide intelligence community personnel. All with stake in the hunt for truth in one fashion or another. Some in support of truth, and communication. Others seeking real disclosure and forms of proof. And others highly skeptical of anything or limited subjects. The smallest division of membership being wholly anti-disclosure oriented.

So where did these members vanish to? They had many options. There are almost innumerable other forums out there on the topics of UFO's or Exopolitics, the Unexplained, and Conspiracy Theory. Did they disappear into the world-wide network of forum inhabitants? Did some go find new homes on chatrooms or individual blogs? Did they participate in ufo conventions or other public events and gatherings? How about those who represented groups in special access? Or IC and military observers? Those with academic affiliations? Where did they all go and what would be the best way to reach out and extend an invitation to return?

And what constitutes a situation deserving of their time and participation? Is the archive enough? How exactly do people within the paradigm most desire to define a community? Is it amenities, humanity or simply population size for exposure? Most of the special guests have been emailed and have expressed that population size for exposure is what most motivates them. But not all. Long-time member Dan Smith has other priorities and values motivating his participation. Should this open opportunities for unattached junior guests who have experience and dialog to contribute to the world? How best to make use of OMF's time, experience and resources?

Many skeptics would like to see the historical guardian of discourse opportunity to just up and disappear; go into permanent stasis. They think that not everyone has a right to speak about their experiences and if there is no proof involved then there can philosophically be no value to discourse. I personally would respectfully disagree with them. Discourse has always been the prelude to meaningful relationships and meaningful mutual relationships have always been the prelude to exchanges of proof. In a contentious social environment with regards to communication vs disclosure how do we best re-establish a haven for those preludes? Is it only the "if we build it they will come" answer? Well considering OMF has been largely fully functional over the last four or five months this line of reasoning is not necessarily true. So what would be the best way re-establish this? Your suggestions are sought. Please comment.

And, wait again, how does egolessnes differ from being born again.....?

It differs only superficially.  The form may appear very different, but not the underlying cause.

    Personal realization of truth.........?

Hobbit, my girl has dyslexia, it’s tough. Feel ya. There is a reason you have it of course.

And then there are no real causes of anything as nothing is actually happening.

That’s one idea that will melt your brain.

Leave your shoes on the porch and come inside.

If you think about it, Eric is saying the same thing I am.  Sometimes he uses more words...... sometimes I do.

And, regardless of what we think now, we’re all gonna end up in the same place, anyway.  If you want to experience hell on Earth, that can be arranged, too.

We can all rest on our laurels, now. But, my prediction..... most of us will keep on trucking. Most of us are not cut out for truck gardening.

I was so sick of pretending, so I stopped awhile to be myself.

Everyone in their way and time will find their way back home.

They will set down their burdens.

Dust their feet off on the porch, sit down and have a glass of lemonade.

    They will feel tired.

They will go inside finally and lay down for a nap.

    Slowly they will drift off...

It can be hell or a glass of lemonade on the porch and a nap.

I’ll take my nap when I’m tired.

Not very tired at the moment.

This lemonade is so sweet here, I might have a few glasses.

    Peace on your journey home.

Thanks, Eric.  You do know who is a frog on the other side.

So there’s really nothing left to do, but tell stories...... wonderous stories...... and make sure that food gets better distributed.  And, yes, corruption is not helpful.

    A crackpot I read regularly.

He’s a Gnostic pattern recognition machine, I can’t follow hardly any of his stuff.

He follows the vectors too, not your vectors, the real ones.

The old "gods" were merely products of manifestation using humanity's inherent collective consciousness, including Kek. This means that what we believed became "real" or at least manifested within the construct as part of reality. Did our will re-awaken the old trickster or is it something else entirely?

Reality is creation, constant creation, ever changing, ever re-setting itself. To paraphrase a great man "just when you think you have all the answers [reality] changes all the questions."

    NorWon,

Hmmm......... Maybe not so much.  You are not a personalist.  You should be.  You can’t call yourself a humanist, if you’re not a personalist.  Personalism is going to be a bitter pill to swallow for most folks who have ever glommed onto the ufo story.  The truth is not out there..... it’s in here.  So you’ll have to speak for your own lonesome, NorWon.

I had a lengthy conversation with Maureen S........ we need someone to tell the wonderous stories, hereabouts.  A synesthete journalist might be the one, and, hey, she’s a friend of Doug’s.

The obscurity was fun while it lasted.  Everything else is mostly drudge work, or worse.........

We have to work around the grey lady, as long as we can....... months, still.....?

We all need to line up for our interviews with Maureen.  I feel badly for her.  How can she possibly package half of this in one story?  Maybe she’ll just have to bite off a piece.  But she’ll need to leave the obvious openings...... journalistic portals.

The longest, greatest story...... you still have to begin it with a single sentence. Once you figure it out, the rest is easy. Maybe she can do it as a fake blog...... who knows.

I would welcome such medicine, until then I remain convinced we are trapped here, within a dynamic construct.

How does your interpretation of a solely personal reality fit within the idea of a creation? Wouldn't the idea of "A" creation be unnecessary if our experience is solely a product of our perception?

How can there be a Creation without a Creator?

How can that Creator not be personal?  What’s the problem?

If you understand human potential, you understand how we are all co-Creators.

Oh, I see, you think this is all just Maya.   Well, NorWon, it’s Maya with a panentheistic twist.  That little twist makes all the difference in the world.

It’s also about teleology and closed timelike curves (CTCs).  No?

That’s how you make the best possible world, which will necessarily be small and personal.  No?

I gather that Kip Thorne may have something to say about this.

I just got a copy of Maureen’s book about Jason Padgett.  That’s what this is all gonna be about....... we’re all about to get struck.  No?

Look, you’re talking to a guy who’s had a major stroke. I don’t recommend it....... I’m just saying......

    NorWon, I know, right.

    Bitter pill indeed.

We made it all up mostly Wink

    We were scared and greedy.

    Shrug.

    OSHO, Zeno, Bodidharma are right.

They called bullshit on all of it.

the eschatology, the determinism, it confounds me...it leaves me feeling lazy, helpless, without purpose...i reject it

i am the creator, so are you, so is everyone, not one greater or lesser than the other

all that's happening is now; not was or will be

our present experience brings value to us all, it's our personal creative expression, our indelible fingerprints in time unique to each one of us, not to be wasted

spend time doing, play your part in what's being built

in the end you'll likely be judging your-self

    Jofo,

The problem with playing our part is that some of us have come too far to slip back into the game.

We've become aware that we're part of the game and it frustrates us that we're not the ones with the controller.

Hence we're looking for a cheat code, a way out. Hence Dan's portals.

NorWon, just my opinion, but those sound like ego’s attempts at trying to escape.

There is no escape from your Self.

You don’t come to hate or avoid the game, but master it by mastering yourself, you just accept it as part of yourself, which was jofo’s and Dan’s point.

So true jofo, so true, well said.

The ego wants a big plot, a mission, something to glorify itself. There may be story for the amalgamation of being, but as individuals, how to know what to do is to listen to your heart and then live in the silence found through the heart.

The mind knows very little of the heart and nothing about silence.

The ego is on a spiritual path it insists. Everything You reveal to yourself, it tries to claim as it's own.

Anything that comes to you from nature, comes for your own benefit, the ego knows nothing of this.

unless it is within your experience, how can one be aware of anything. we trust so blindly in the abstract and ignore what's purely evident and right in front of us.

Regarding Maureen Seaberg /  I'm met her after reading one of her articles in Psychology Today.  I was impressed with the odd subject matter of being able to taste colors and see musical notes as colors  etc.

I wrote her and we became friends .  I introduced her to Grant and others and she connected me up with a far out psychic I have been friends with since.

I have read some of Maureens new writing and a treatment for a movie script she is in the process of finishing.

She is a very gifted writer for sure .

    Right on Jofo.

    Respect.

We have a real life Stoa happening here on OMF.

There are many here for the appearances, you are distracted, sorry, you are.

Then there are some here tuning into the deeper personal nature of what is happening.

We found each other across this planet to be here now together.

That’s meaningful to me, our coming together is powerful.

I'm sorry, but I must disagree, there is far too much evidence, at least for me, to disregard a larger reality. We as human beings are subject to linear time, we are born, we live, we die. Now either our existence is cyclical and we start over and do it all again (possible) or we're able to leave the construct at the point of death and rejoin the larger reality, the true reality, that which is on the other side of the portals.

Of course, as always, your mileage may vary. I cannot possibly refute another's perspective or personal experiences, I can only speak for myself.
