Where did all the Open Minds Forum members go?

Fri Oct 19, 2012 12:29 pm by Admin

With Open Minds Forum restored now for almost half a year at it's new location with forumotion.com we can now turn to look at reaching out to OMF's original members who have not yet returned home. OMF's original membership was over 6,000 members strong, prior to the proboards suspension, according to the rolls of the time. We can probably safely assume that some of those accounts were unidentified socks. If we were to assume a reasonable guess of maybe as many as 30% possible sock accounts then that would leave potentially somewhere between 4800 to 4900 possible real members to locate. That is still a substantial number of people.

Who were all these people? Some were average individuals with common interests in ufology, exopolitics, globalism, corruption, earthchanges, science and technology, and a variety of other interests. Some just enjoyed being part of a vibrant and unusually interesting community. Others were representative of various insider groups participating in observation and outreach projects, while still others were bonafide intelligence community personnel. All with stake in the hunt for truth in one fashion or another. Some in support of truth, and communication. Others seeking real disclosure and forms of proof. And others highly skeptical of anything or limited subjects. The smallest division of membership being wholly anti-disclosure oriented.

So where did these members vanish to? They had many options. There are almost innumerable other forums out there on the topics of UFO's or Exopolitics, the Unexplained, and Conspiracy Theory. Did they disappear into the world-wide network of forum inhabitants? Did some go find new homes on chatrooms or individual blogs? Did they participate in ufo conventions or other public events and gatherings? How about those who represented groups in special access? Or IC and military observers? Those with academic affiliations? Where did they all go and what would be the best way to reach out and extend an invitation to return?

And what constitutes a situation deserving of their time and participation? Is the archive enough? How exactly do people within the paradigm most desire to define a community? Is it amenities, humanity or simply population size for exposure? Most of the special guests have been emailed and have expressed that population size for exposure is what most motivates them. But not all. Long-time member Dan Smith has other priorities and values motivating his participation. Should this open opportunities for unattached junior guests who have experience and dialog to contribute to the world? How best to make use of OMF's time, experience and resources?

Many skeptics would like to see the historical guardian of discourse opportunity to just up and disappear; go into permanent stasis. They think that not everyone has a right to speak about their experiences and if there is no proof involved then there can philosophically be no value to discourse. I personally would respectfully disagree with them. Discourse has always been the prelude to meaningful relationships and meaningful mutual relationships have always been the prelude to exchanges of proof. In a contentious social environment with regards to communication vs disclosure how do we best re-establish a haven for those preludes? Is it only the "if we build it they will come" answer? Well considering OMF has been largely fully functional over the last four or five months this line of reasoning is not necessarily true. So what would be the best way re-establish this? Your suggestions are sought. Please comment.

    First topic message reminder :

    Dan,

I had no previous knowledge of, or intent to achieve that which occurred.

I climbed on top of a portal chamber (hence My interest in anything portal related) to photograph a crop circle adjacent....
When this reality went and I tripped across into the most fabulous none physical dimension of indescribeable Mandelbrot scene with sounds not of this world.
My physical suddenly began to be upset as I didn't exist, or the earth below.
I was still wondering and asking who are You to my physical entity when a third Me began talking and telling me to be calm and repeat what ever it told Me, which was it was Me from 5D.

I had lots explained, but can only recall that which I repeated .
All of this time My physical entity was really quite funny telling the other two to shut up and it wanted to be back in 3D.

My higher self ( in 5d) is that called father.
My 3D self ( physical) is Earth to be.
My 4D self is ( consciousness) spirit, as such.

I didn't want to return , the love is immense.

Greatest movie of ALL time, wife says.

ME, my wife had just cried about her moms death. Mother’s Day and all and you sent that video.

She heard it on my phone and said that was my favorite movie as a kid.

    She immediately smiled.

    You did that.

    Silly, but wow.

    Her mom spoke through you.

    That’s how the electricity works.

It moves between people and there is great love behind it.

I am witness to that, I don’t understand it, I receive it.

I can’t say there is anything beyond this life, but events arrange themselves seemingly with compassion behind them.

    GC,

Fear not, is the first thing any angel will tell you.

Fear not for whom the bell tolls, GC....... it tolls for thee.

You take care of your own fears.  God will take care of the rest.

This is what smelly is telling us, in his own inimitable fashion.

    2:40.........

Is Kashmir going to let her friends drown?

Yes, she will let them drown in God’s love.

God is killing us slowly with her love. Savor the each minute, as if it were your last..... it is.

ME, who cares what anyone else knows about things than we do?

I now it’s easy to just post, but I mean it, when we don’t seek answers outside ourselves anymore, our arrangement with the Cosmos changes.

I can honestly tell you this is true.

I can’t make anyone understand the experience.

ME, what is it you want here and why?

Where do the threads lead for you?

    You have an experience?

    You a spook?

    Want money?

    Fame?

    Or just curiosity like me?

    Dan, what a word inimitable.

You do have quite a vocabulary.

    A help or hindrance?

People like you have minds they can free range in and ponder.

    My mind is mostly empty.

    Things just *pop* into it.

    And I *spew*

    We all are unique.

That’s apparently how you make the best world.

    Conformity kills.

    Life diversifies.

Can’t fight life or it’s flow.

    You just can’t.

We all should reset with Zen and begin again.

Perhaps this is what I am meant to live in the west and what Joy meant.

    Shrug.

Fame can go fuck itself, but the money would be nice.

I've had a lot of paranormal experiences, but talking about them is about as interesting to anyone else nowadays as recounting last night's dream, so I'll spare you any details.

I'm pretty much just here to interact with the Disclosure Triumvirate and find out whether they are real or pretend, and if they're real, to see whether I can influence them in some small, positive way to have more compassion for all the trembling, discardable corn husks of the world.

EDIT: And to get all the 'inside baseball' on disclosure, of course.

    Dan..I love Hemingway..

Does Kashmir have a choice to let her friends drown? Who could you save you from drowning in God's love? More importantly, why would you save anyone from drowning in God's love?

I went to a Catholic grade school and college. I was a business major, but had to take some sort of particular elective class that was required by the College. I took what I thought sounded easiest, but ended up being a deep look at creation and God, taught by a nun who was going through chemo treatments.

I hated the class, despite spending more time on it than any other that semester. I got a C and I was quite upset since I thought the material was definitely not for non-theology majors. I forgot the Sister's name, but she passed that next semester. After learning this, I prayed for her. I had not prayed in so long, but when I finally did, it was for someone else. Since then, I've never prayed for myself.

This has led me to the conclusion that if God is in all creation, then caring about the outcome of others IS caring for your own outcome. So I will continue to be concerned how the children will feel.

“the individual’s self-interest is always to be found in the common interest...and that justice to others is charity for ourselves”-Montesquieu

GC, there ain’t no conclusions, the wheel spins forever.

Hell or high water. You remind me of this...

    “In every moment,
    your enlightenment is
    directly in front of you,
    being handed to you. All
    that’s necessary to receive
it is to empty your hands
    and relax your mind.”

    Nothing happens unless we relax.

I personally heard the Cosmos answer me, do things yourself, and really take care with the work you have to do and what do you care about what else happens?

We reclaim eternity step by step together.

We help each other when we stumble.

We provide clarity when it’s needed.

    We wait for each other.

I had to learn and always have to cultivate humility, then you always know how great you have it, suffering turns to joy and pessimism becomes optimism. Hatred becomes compassion.

I can’t imagine it’s much different for any other human.

There is a Children’s book called Chicken Little, maybe a movie too. In it, Chicken little is the hero for returning the child alien back to his parents.

The Monad let me know the harvest is in the bog last night during my travels. Our foot does not lead astray. Just follow your foot one step at a time up the mountain and remember you are all fools, but be brave.

It is raining pretty hard today here in the desert. When it rains it pours.

Before I head off to the bog I leave one final print in the desert sand. It is as follows:

Five quotes from visitors past, present, and future...

One day Rumi was reading next to a large stack of books. Shams Tabriz, passing by, asked him, "What are you doing?" Rumi scoffingly replied, "Something you cannot understand." (This is knowledge that cannot be understood by the unlearned.) On hearing this, Shams threw the stack of books into a nearby pool of water. Rumi hastily rescued the books and to his surprise they were all dry. Rumi then asked Shams, "What is this?" To which Shams replied, "Mowlana, this is what you cannot understand." (This is knowledge that cannot be understood by the learned.)

    .......................................

A hermit was meditating by a river when a young man interrupted him. "Master, I wish to become your disciple," said the man. "Why?" replied the hermit. The young man thought for a moment. "Because I want to find God."

The master jumped up, grabbed him by the scruff of his neck, dragged him into the river, and plunged his head under water. After holding him there for a minute, with him kicking and struggling to free himself, the master finally pulled him up out of the river. The young man coughed up water and gasped to get his breath. When he eventually quieted down, the master spoke. "Tell me, what did you want most of all when you were under water."

    "Air!" answered the man.

"Very well," said the master. "Go home and come back to me when you want God as much as you just wanted air."

    -Wei Wu Wei
    ......................................

“Agape love is the purest form of gravity.”

    - The footman

    .....................................

“I find that life itself is the best teacher.”

    - The Princess

    ....................................

“The craziest thing about all of this...IS all of it”

    -Kevin

    .....................................

We’re off to the bog to hide under the log from the one we call God. If you see him when he comes, say hi to him for us.

So long and thanks for all the fish. Smile

I think it’s sweet Dan thinks he is running the Cosmos.

    Don’t we all?

Don’t give him too big a head.

I have to do it the way I do Dan.

    You do you.

“You may be capable of great things, but life consists of small things.”

Saving the world is a terrible idea.

Who would be so stupid to try?

    It doesn’t need saving.

My delusion is that I am a Star.

Not a bad delusion as they go.

    Simple, focusing, brilliant.

The falling and saving part in life seems to me just to keep the action going.

    I like calm, not action.

I say do gooders and evil doers tear each other apart if you want to.

    Is that harsh?

    Cosmos is harsh?

Cosmic kindness is not human kindness.

Some of us have carved out a little nook in the world and we can weather any deluges.

For those with the courage to come up this high way where you can barely breathe, be my guest and I’ll smack you in the head with a stick for doing something so stupid as searching for an answer to life.

The answer is the one asking the question.

I’ll share a meal and a chat with those who are done with dualities.

I caste our my net and caught a few fish.

I wasn’t sure I could fish, but I seem to have a knack for it.

How many fish can I carry?

Not many with my my feeble strength.

They will have to figure out how to jump out of water to get some perspective and save themselves.

Amazing how fast a fish can grow feet and eventually wings if focused on the breathe.

We are always chasing the air.

Why is anyone worried about anything?

I’m not a brain damaged fool, well, I am, but besides that, I know it ain’t easy.

GC, you want the commoner to be ok.

There is a way for all of us, but the price I’m afraid is death.

It’s not a sweet thing always Truth, it is the monolisk we monkeys gather around.

But seriously, let’s all relax, breathe, regroup.

Ack, like all of us, has to work it all out.

He’s doing it out loud, like I did.

I think it’s the best way.

You have to go astray before you find your way.

    I'm worried about God.

I'm more worried how she feels.

To clarify, I'm not worried; I'm obsessed.

In her creation, I can't stop pouring my attention to the feeling of hopelessness. It's been building for sometime, crushing those around me. Some assimilate this crushing weight into their personalities instead of breaking down, literally driving them insane. Is Ack on point?.. because I know too many that aren't, and this is a red flag. Or is it? God tells me to care regardless, it's in my nature.

I urge those close to cherish every moment, but this "era" of humanity seems to be ideal for extinguishing love.
