Where did all the Open Minds Forum members go?

Fri Oct 19, 2012 12:29 pm by Admin

With Open Minds Forum restored now for almost half a year at it's new location with forumotion.com we can now turn to look at reaching out to OMF's original members who have not yet returned home. OMF's original membership was over 6,000 members strong, prior to the proboards suspension, according to the rolls of the time. We can probably safely assume that some of those accounts were unidentified socks. If we were to assume a reasonable guess of maybe as many as 30% possible sock accounts then that would leave potentially somewhere between 4800 to 4900 possible real members to locate. That is still a substantial number of people.

Who were all these people? Some were average individuals with common interests in ufology, exopolitics, globalism, corruption, earthchanges, science and technology, and a variety of other interests. Some just enjoyed being part of a vibrant and unusually interesting community. Others were representative of various insider groups participating in observation and outreach projects, while still others were bonafide intelligence community personnel. All with stake in the hunt for truth in one fashion or another. Some in support of truth, and communication. Others seeking real disclosure and forms of proof. And others highly skeptical of anything or limited subjects. The smallest division of membership being wholly anti-disclosure oriented.

So where did these members vanish to? They had many options. There are almost innumerable other forums out there on the topics of UFO's or Exopolitics, the Unexplained, and Conspiracy Theory. Did they disappear into the world-wide network of forum inhabitants? Did some go find new homes on chatrooms or individual blogs? Did they participate in ufo conventions or other public events and gatherings? How about those who represented groups in special access? Or IC and military observers? Those with academic affiliations? Where did they all go and what would be the best way to reach out and extend an invitation to return?

And what constitutes a situation deserving of their time and participation? Is the archive enough? How exactly do people within the paradigm most desire to define a community? Is it amenities, humanity or simply population size for exposure? Most of the special guests have been emailed and have expressed that population size for exposure is what most motivates them. But not all. Long-time member Dan Smith has other priorities and values motivating his participation. Should this open opportunities for unattached junior guests who have experience and dialog to contribute to the world? How best to make use of OMF's time, experience and resources?

Many skeptics would like to see the historical guardian of discourse opportunity to just up and disappear; go into permanent stasis. They think that not everyone has a right to speak about their experiences and if there is no proof involved then there can philosophically be no value to discourse. I personally would respectfully disagree with them. Discourse has always been the prelude to meaningful relationships and meaningful mutual relationships have always been the prelude to exchanges of proof. In a contentious social environment with regards to communication vs disclosure how do we best re-establish a haven for those preludes? Is it only the "if we build it they will come" answer? Well considering OMF has been largely fully functional over the last four or five months this line of reasoning is not necessarily true. So what would be the best way re-establish this? Your suggestions are sought. Please comment.

The best possible world is the best possible mustard seed.

Smelly goats eat mustard seeds for breakfast.

The only question that remains, is how fertile is the soil?

Compost can help provide proper fertile soil. Compost has lots of dead stuff in it. Who likes dead stuff? I sure do!

    Kill all the things.

Jesus said, "Do not assume that I have come to bring peace to the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to turn ‘A man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. A man’s enemies will be the members of his own household"

    Are your swords properly sharpened?

The best possible world must inevitably have many a great sword fights.

Smelly, be careful though. Don't get too carried away with your swords, you might cut yourself.

    I’ll follow the Sun.

Chase whatever imagined Gods you like Wink

Humanity is doing many stupid things, no need to change now.

I cut myself while I practiced.

    It’s heavy and sharp.

    I forged it in death.

    But no longer.

I mastered the blade and myself.

    You can’t argue with me.

    Awareness is all there is.

We can all thrash for eternity.

I’m picking up Jack Parson’s mantle.

    That was a Human Being.

    Nothing more nothing less.

I agree Ackbar, the world is full of shit.

I’m here with a flamethrower and I have gas Wink

You are correct, I know nothing.

But I don't need to search. I'm done searching for now.

I find it can be a distraction from being.

Death is a good thing though.

You know this. I've seen you when you are dead.

I like dead goats better. I think you do to, I've seen it.

Death and birth are endless cycles though. We all go through these cycles endlessly, so nothing to be concerned of.

    Oh brother...

    Another pretender.

    Well step right up sir.

“When thousands and thousands of people around the earth are celebrating, singing, dancing, ecstatic, drunk with the divine, there is no possibility of any global suicide. With such festivity and with such laughter, with such sanity and health, with such naturalness and spontaneity, how can there be a war?... Life has been given to you to create, and to rejoice, and to celebrate. When you cry and weep, when you are miserable, you are alone. When you celebrate, the whole existence participates with you. Only in celebration do we meet the ultimate, the eternal. Only in celebration do we go beyond the circle of birth and death.“

    Ackbar, save your judgement.

    Just dance and sing.

    We are the World.

I have to admit, Disclosure is turning out to be a lot of fun.

Dancing with Dan last night was worth it.

    So much fun.

If you don’t dare Ackbar, you didn’t learn much in life.

    Smelly,

You quote the masters and have much knowledge of their teachings, but do you understand them?

Yes, only in celebration do we meet the ultimate, the eternal, going beyond the circle of birth and death.

But celebration and conceit cannot dwell together.

I’m not totally sure, but Snotty might be saying that the world, in as much as it needs saving, will be able to save itself, thank you very much.  No messiahs need apply.  We don’t need their bull, our cow is dead.

With Eric, logic and proportion have fallen sloppy dead.  He wishes to share this insight with us, on a continual basis, bless his persevering heart.  Equally important, though, is his constant vigilance against would be messiahs, such as myself, for instance.

Perhaps none of the active members of the forum are in need of Eric’s vigilance, but please keep in mind your fellow humans who may not be blessed with your powers of discernment.

Clearly, our less fortunate soulmates need Eric to help save them from the likes of me.  Apparently, I potentially represent the biggest threat that humankind is currently facing.  My, how fortunate then is humankind.  It’s not quite clear whether I am more of a first world problem or third world problem.

There are many, in this small world, who believe that humankind’s only demonstrable potential is to destroy the world.  My mission is to offer you and them a possible counter argument...... nay, to offer you the best possible counter argument.

    Such is my immodest claim.

My counter argument is blindingly simple.  The only real challenge is to ascertain why I’m appear to be the only one offering this best possible counter argument.  But even that challenge is barely worthy of the name.

The only challenge is one of historical precedent.  Whoever can make this argument, and make it stick, will be branded a messiah.......nay, as The Messiah.  Hmmm........  Clearly, I have a messiah complex.  Help me, Doctor...... quick.  But, as in most spheres, there is an equal and opposite complex........ the anti-messiah complex.  One that is far more prevalent, superficially, than its twin.

But I suspect that we can’t have one without the other......

No one could harbor such sentiments, pro- or con-, without a degree of internal recognition of the twin sentiment.

Eric has simply taken it upon his ample shoulders to give voice to our very natural resistance to any such entreaties.

This internal thesis and antithesis is, of course, reflected externally by the Christ, Antichrist juxtaposition.

Evidently, it is not just fundamentalists who fear the Antichrist.  Eric does as well, and I doubt he is the only one out there.

The christ that Eric fears, may be identified rather closely with the antichrist........ a deceiver who leads the bulk of humankind into perdition.

I suppose that I could be either one........ the Pied Piper who leads the innocents into the Moutain of No Return....... aka the Monad.

Eric.......?  Well, haven’t we observed him whistling past the graveyard?  With great bravado, I might add.

Even the most optimistic futurists/transhumanists amongst us....... they harbor their Kurzweilian Singularity.  Is there any difference?  Not to my eye.

Any Pretender will, at their best, serve only to remind us of our darkest fears, deny them though we might.

So, as Eric is wont to say, move along folks, there is nothing to see here........ Nothing. Both Eric and I peddle our own versions of the Void. I’m, perhaps, a tad more direct.

    (cont.......)

I am nobody and I am everybody.

The more important question is who are you?

Don't get me wrong, I like to sing and dance too, but sometimes people confuse a mosh pit with a dance.

I'm not assuming you have made this confusion.

    I know nothing.

    I pretend nothing.

    Love you smelly.

    Yes Dan!

    Thank you.

I had to challenge your Jesus stuff sometime.

    I won’t belabor it.

Just can’t let it go Grasshoper.

    Shrug.

Ackbar, don’t mess up the flow.

Go with the flow and act natural and let all be themselves.

If they are sincere the Cosmos will show them what to do

If I’m not your flavor, then ignore me Ackbar.

You stepped way out in a limb you didn’t have to.

Here is the saw, just saw away.

Also Mr Smelly, there is no need to go labeling people here.

Why do you call me a pretender? What are you assuming I pretend to be?

Who is more pretentious, the pretender, or the one who thinks it necessary to go labeling the pretender?

Man, I do not need to explain myself to you or answer your silly observations.

You shouldn’t be afraid to wrestle with things.

And wrestling out loud helps us all.

This is my natural protocol pretender.

Does that prik your ego, well good, suffer with it.

If you don’t understand what I’m doing, it weren’t for you.

    Disclosure is fun.

    Peace.

How dare I accept the truth, that everyone is a teacher and everything a message if you see past the surface.

How dare I come here, Dan’s spot, which I sniffed out first and speak directly to him as a friend and smartass and fellow traveler.

How dare I claim any Awareness Wink

How dare I call the great Ackbar a pretender, my favorite part.

How dare I claim to have my sword of freedom.

    Do better.

    Go farther.

    I dare you!!!!

    We need to dare always.

We are facing that which is unknown, moving into a realm that is far outside what we’re used to.

It isn’t nice and neat or always pretty, it’s pretty messy actually.

    This ain’t for whimpz.

You can’t dare if you don’t know.

You can’t dare if you never meet your True Will.

There is no need to be silent here now.

I dare to go farther than any human being before haz and I hope others come behind me and go farther into it.

If you shoot for the stars, if you miss, you might hit the moon.

And this is all about the Moon which allows that feminizing force to melt us down into sharp swords of Truth attached to ooshy gooshy  heartz.

My heart bleeds openly here on OMF.

Nuf said, get back to your important work Dan.

Sorry to dare to distract you with all the children watching.

I think I understand what you are doing smelly, and it was for me. I think we are on the same page in this regard.

The same could be said from my perspective. If you don't understand what I'm doing, it weren't for you. However, I think you have already made it clear that it weren't for you though.

    That's okay.

I'm just doing my dance here like you.

I'm not afraid to wrestle, that's why I'm here wrestling with the ring master himself. Laughing

Are you really open as you claim to be?

It's a two way street, but sometimes there are traffic jams on the road back home that need a little help getting un-jammed.

No observations are silly, and yes, I can observe my ego being pricked a little. Can you observe yours being pricked?

It is my observation of being pricked that allows me to remain unattached and unaffected by it.

You are correct, you don't have to answer my silly observations, but do I smell a whiff of smelly ego within the energy of such a statement as "Man, I do not need to explain myself to you or answer your silly observations."

I don't know. Maybe so maybe not.

I am as light as a feather, lighter even. I am as light as nothing.

Could the one who needs to lighten up be the one who finds it necessary to state "lighten the fuck up" ?

I don't know. Maybe so maybe not.

Enough words for me today. Too much words.

    Peace.

    I’ll be quiet today.

But you see it I think.

    It was for you.

I wouldn’t talk to you unless I really loved you.

    I’m not ripping off masks!

I’m ripping mine off in front of Dan and saying how do you explain this then in light of what you say.

    Last night was for Dan.

    This was for you.

And all of it is for me.

    I am the One
And if you dare to believe it
    Nothing can be undone
And we all here are children of the Sun

But you are the One too.

    It’s a funny game, no?

    A shell game.

Not one time did my ego rise the last 24 hours here, but he typed Wink

Things always are changing, as I am.

I am never out of control here Ack.

I smiled when I said lighten up, get it Wink

    Look, I’m messing with you.

I spend half my day working and meditating and practicing Stoicism and wrestling where I can and I write.

    I research dig and write.

    I love to wrestle.

My ego gets angry, but not here Wink

Today I just reflected your own energy back on you.

And you are all my teachers and I love you for it.

    Good enough Wink

It is a funny game indeed.

Thank you for your dance smelly.

I have learned more from you over the past few months here in OMF than you know. Or rather, I have understood more because of the on/off switch you helped me to see on the light I hold in my own hands.

There are many in my life that have tried to show me the light by shining it in my eyes, but that just made me more blind.

You have done a good job of showing me where the switch is on my own light, so thank you. The same goes for Dan and many of the others here. Many good light switch exposers here.

I have grown and learned so many things through my time here with Dan, Cy and all of you.

    I mean, I feel a great debt.

So I determined to only be honest here and I don’t know it all obviously.

But I like matching myself against what’s happening here on OMF.

I take great meaning from it, because my heart is in it.

I’m not sure all here are there, but you can copy the living examples in your life of Awareness

Fake it until you make it.

    I am humbled.

    Amazed.

Dazed and dazzled and in love.

All your realizations Ack are yours as mine are mine.

I know my style is prickly and abrasive at times.

    That’s just me authentically me.

    Shrug.

    Peace.

And I love your analogy, turning on your switch.

I’m going to steal that Wink

I’m a terrible thief, but then again, this world and all that’s in it was for and belongs to ME!

I just took what was mine back from the stupid children.

I have met The Dark Man of the Sacred Oak and he is me as well.

    We are the World.

I have to say, another factor and Dan started this, was bringing up Jack Parsons. We crossed paths before now, but yesterday I was reading his words as flaming text and I could feel his fire.

It consumed me and I burned Dan, but I was possessed.

Literally posesssed with his spirit and passion.

    Never felt contact like this.

I’m not sure what it means.

I was like...yesssss. This is the greatest writing I have found to date from anyone.

If a Human can get to where he did, life is nothing but just getting started for mez.

I doubt L Ron could hold a candle to Jack.

I think they all saw him as the flaming sword he was.

They killed him for it maybe and it only made the flame stronger.

Man, he is in my heart and head big time now.

    He is worth consuming.

Jack Parsons was full of words, but not much else I think.

He is quoted as saying, "Freedom like charity, begins at home. No man is worthy to fight in the cause of freedom unless he has conquered his internal masters. He must learn control and discipline over the disastrous passions that would lead him to folly and ruin."

I like that he said we must learn control and discipline over disastrous passions that would lead to folly and ruin.

Unfortunately for him, I think it was his disastrous passions that led him to his final ruin.

To me it seemed he did not live truly free, but quite the opposite.

I think it is clear by the way he lived that he did not live as a master of self, but as a slave of self, a slave of sex, drugs and magic. An addict of the material.

Most people I know live much more meaningful and fulfilling lives then he, even the ones so helplessly snoring.

    Look again.

    Shrug.

He is the most free man I ever met, next to me and OSHO and UG Krishnamurti, my brothers in arms Smile

You can talk to Jack, don’t take my word for it.

Do you understand the Babalon working?

Thy were freeing the divine feminine and free love and sex into the World.

They became the Beast for us.

    This requires direct experience.

No books or govt agency can read you into this.

This is beyond TOP SECRET and above all their eggheads.

    I looked again.

I see someone who knew but did not understand.

    Look again.

He was a slave to his own unbridled passions and material illusions.

How can the most free man be a man who practiced every kind of sexual perversion known to man?

The free man is the man that knows he could have all that if he wanted it, but chooses a higher road, a road that minimizes pain, suffering, and chaos. One that surrenders instant gratification for something greater.

The abuse of the sacred power of procreation is a clear indication of how confused and lost he really was.

No success or degree of "enlightenment" or anything else can compensate for failure to achieve true unconditional love within the bounds of the family unit, and when I say family unit, I don't mean a bunch of hippies having group sex.

Children are entitled to birth within the bonds of matrimony, and to be reared by a father and a mother who honor marital vows with complete fidelity. Any lifestyle or belief that runs contrary to this principle will ultimately lead to folly and ruin.

Children are our ultimate heritage and reflection, but with great blessings comes great responsibility.

I wonder what was said of his success in life as it relates to him being a loving father and husband, because in the end, nothing else really matters.

I don't know the answer to that. I wasn't there. I never met the man, but I would assume by the way he lived -- ritual sex, adulterous sex, incest, group sex, etc -- that he was an utter failure where it really mattered, developing and raising a selfless loving family.

If there is one thing that we have absolutely no control over, it is the consequences our own choices.

True freedom doesn't just mean doing whatever you want whenever you want to. True freedom requires self sacrifice.

The kind of love JP tried to release was not really free love, because free love and free sex cannot exist together.

Free sex creates chaos and destruction as it breaks down the family unit.

Free sex is the antitheses to true love.

The disintegration of the family will bring upon individuals, communities, and nations the calamities foretold by ancient and modern prophets.

But who am I to preach? I don't have a perfect family. Nobody does.

    Well, I disagree completely.

It’s good it’s a big world we can all have our own experience.

I’m a pagan shaman, so he is right up my alley.

    He is Left Path.

Do you know what that is Ack?

    Don’t judge Wink

That’s his point, we live in a male dominated hell and free love is coming again.

    He definitely influenced the 60s.

He was the greatest man of the 20th century maybe.

    Ha.
