Where did all the Open Minds Forum members go?

Fri Oct 19, 2012 12:29 pm by Admin

With Open Minds Forum restored now for almost half a year at it's new location with forumotion.com we can now turn to look at reaching out to OMF's original members who have not yet returned home. OMF's original membership was over 6,000 members strong, prior to the proboards suspension, according to the rolls of the time. We can probably safely assume that some of those accounts were unidentified socks. If we were to assume a reasonable guess of maybe as many as 30% possible sock accounts then that would leave potentially somewhere between 4800 to 4900 possible real members to locate. That is still a substantial number of people.

Who were all these people? Some were average individuals with common interests in ufology, exopolitics, globalism, corruption, earthchanges, science and technology, and a variety of other interests. Some just enjoyed being part of a vibrant and unusually interesting community. Others were representative of various insider groups participating in observation and outreach projects, while still others were bonafide intelligence community personnel. All with stake in the hunt for truth in one fashion or another. Some in support of truth, and communication. Others seeking real disclosure and forms of proof. And others highly skeptical of anything or limited subjects. The smallest division of membership being wholly anti-disclosure oriented.

So where did these members vanish to? They had many options. There are almost innumerable other forums out there on the topics of UFO's or Exopolitics, the Unexplained, and Conspiracy Theory. Did they disappear into the world-wide network of forum inhabitants? Did some go find new homes on chatrooms or individual blogs? Did they participate in ufo conventions or other public events and gatherings? How about those who represented groups in special access? Or IC and military observers? Those with academic affiliations? Where did they all go and what would be the best way to reach out and extend an invitation to return?

And what constitutes a situation deserving of their time and participation? Is the archive enough? How exactly do people within the paradigm most desire to define a community? Is it amenities, humanity or simply population size for exposure? Most of the special guests have been emailed and have expressed that population size for exposure is what most motivates them. But not all. Long-time member Dan Smith has other priorities and values motivating his participation. Should this open opportunities for unattached junior guests who have experience and dialog to contribute to the world? How best to make use of OMF's time, experience and resources?

Many skeptics would like to see the historical guardian of discourse opportunity to just up and disappear; go into permanent stasis. They think that not everyone has a right to speak about their experiences and if there is no proof involved then there can philosophically be no value to discourse. I personally would respectfully disagree with them. Discourse has always been the prelude to meaningful relationships and meaningful mutual relationships have always been the prelude to exchanges of proof. In a contentious social environment with regards to communication vs disclosure how do we best re-establish a haven for those preludes? Is it only the "if we build it they will come" answer? Well considering OMF has been largely fully functional over the last four or five months this line of reasoning is not necessarily true. So what would be the best way re-establish this? Your suggestions are sought. Please comment.

It differs only superficially.  The form may appear very different, but not the underlying cause.

Post by dan Sun Jan 07, 2018 1:18 pm

If you will allow me, smelly, I will demonstrate for you how Theocide might actually be accomplished....... one doesn’t have to shout.  It’s much more effective to use stealth.

Yes, smelly, you’ve finally managed to put me on the spot, so please be patient while I proceed with caution.......

In order to annihilate the Christ someone will have to become the antiChrist.  No small task.  It will require a task force.  I hope, smelly, that you will be the first to join in this endeavor.

Many are the atheists who have tilted against this Windmill, and to what effect?  In most cases they have only fortified the pounders.

One problem is to throw out the bath water without throwing out the baby.  This, too, has been attempted by the many who are my fellow jesus freaks.

The fundamentalists proclaim that to remove their Bibles, you will have to pry it from their dead fingers.  This is a clue...... you won’t be able to take any bibles through any portals.

Why, though, do the fundamentalists clutch so tightly to their bibles, as if their lives depended upon them, even to the very End..... or especially to the very End.

I guess one reason is that they are afraid that God might not be able to discern their very tarnished souls, at the time of Rapture.  They suppose that the good book will serve as a passport, just in case God is doubtful.

The next trick is to memorize the scriptures, as an additional precaution.

    But, yes, I digress.

What do I do.  I pose as the Second Coming.  If I’m even slightly successful in that guise, I would immediately be labeled as The antiChrist.  That would get me some small measure of notoriety, and plenty of ridicule.  It would only be my association with Foot that would give a minute’s pause.

If, to this mix, we add portals, I might be mistaken for a latter day Pied Piper.

But, when you add to the mix the SWH, hmmm....... things begin to warm up a bit, with the SoT, etc.

So, yes, smelly, if we wish to confront the j-man with all his bath water, we must take a holistic/historical approach. And I think that most people here understand this, already. But please feel free to shout at us when the spirit moves.

Ok Dan, but if you had just let me say my piece and not reacted, it would have been fine. Don’t get in the way of the energy. Who are you or Cy to try to manage it? I was not shouting, nor uncivil. Sometimes I use stealth and sometimes I go front on, you think I don’t know the difference?

Fire is often misunderstood as rage, especially when you feel the heat.

You think it’s hot in here with me here, wait until you go through your portals.

Fire is going to consume you.

    >I’m merely suggesting that, in both cases, we may be confronting some sort of sky-hook operation, or is it all of a kind? If we ever take our eyes off the stars, and glance down at our feet, we might feel the need for a sky-hook, bye and bye. I’m only keeping our minds open to the possibility. Is the Princess our sky-hook? I’m almost afraid to ask. I’m afraid to admit, even to myself, that she might be our last, best hope.

Dan, what does Yud, Heh and Vav mean? Tree, window & hook.
We need to send the tree through the window to catch the hook. But what is the tree?

You want a portal but there are only gates. You can walk through a portal to another dimension to elevate your own individual ego or you can climb the gates to a higher consciousness and a different world.

There are no portals in Super Mario Brothers that connect to Fiji since video game characters aren't allowed on beaches.

    Apophis,

The tree.......... You got me, there.  You tell us.

Gates v. portals........  consciousness v. dimensions..... Yes, Apophis, you make a good point.  I suggest that the portals lead mainly to a limboland, which might turn out to be a funhouse, in reverse.

Where we’re really headed is back to Source/Monad.  The seven heavens would be stages of consciousness, leading up to Cosmic consciousness.  They would constitute event horizons of the Soul.

But, yes, I use ‘portals’ very loosely, sometimes to pedagogical benefit, and sometimes not. We need folks like you and smelly to keeps us threading the needles. I like the nomenclature. It certainly conforms with the idea of heaven’s gate...... portals in the world..... gates in the mind..... perhaps.

    Dan, well said.

    I don’t shout here.

    Relax.

There is more I would add to why, but you basically covered it.

I would boil all faith down to one word, fear. And hope is the candy that rots your teeth and is destroying our world.

Syncretic study would cure most Christians of their myopathy.

A Course in Miracles is an example of perpetuating the perfection of the ego, another dead end.

So the entire basis of faith is to perfect something needing no perfection Wink

We are messy and made limited.

Problems arise when we think we have authority or could be God.

Having been a Christian, I know where they are.

I trust my intuition on what to say and when and with what tone.

Point of fact, assume nothing, no one knows where anyone else is inside.

    No one.

Live like it’s your last day and treat every conversation with the urgency as the last one.

If you take that as rage and shouting, that’s your problem.

Your reactions and thoughts are yours to manage.

When I cried out to God/Cosmos to show itself to me, it freed me and showed me there is a pillar of fire in me now reaching outside of time and space.

I’ll trust that connection over anyone’s reaction in a confused fearful world.

I think I’m exactly where I should be and as I should be.

Same is true for all of us, if we would only accept it right now and here.

    Peace.

Unfortunately, no one can be told what the tree is. You have to see it for yourself.

As a Prince said, "When everyone recognizes Jehovah's name, then everyone will be happy because everyone will know what to do and how to do it."

I was dreaming as I wrote this, so forgive me if it goes astray. Jehovah is English for YHVH. Yud equals 10 and is descended from the Egyptian hieroglyph for arm of God.

How do 10 points relate to a tree?

The world they say was created by God's hand, the 10 numbers, shining on an object. The true Torah, like the Jedi texts, is in your heart, like your 32 portals. After all לֵב is 32.

    smelly,

You’re playing with fire, I understand.

Please, understand that I’m playing with the Eschaton.  I don’t think you completely grasp that, but you’re getting close.

You say that the Eschaton is just another illusion.  True, but please allow me to make my little point....... it will be our final illusion.

The Illusion to end all illusions....... oh, dear......

    Apophis,

You’d better stick around.  We’re gonna need you.  And don’t worry, I’ll protect you from smelly.

    Cyrellys,

I just noticed your new Masthead.   Is it apropos...... or what, sports fans?

And now the new background theme..........   will wonders not cease....

    Thank you, Cy.

    smelly,

anti-Antichrist........... well, every thesis has its antithesis.

Is there possibly a synthesis in there, somewhere?

    Can we coexist?

Dan, I respect your experience and you express it as you like.

Once upon a time, you told me to share out loud here. I do.

I just don’t collude or coordinate with you.

Cy, I did ask open ended questions on an interesting topic on an open minded forum, in a very direct way. Same when I was shoving you around. I asked questions.

    Hard questions.

The ones I know to ask and it doesn’t make you friends.

Because if each is asking the deepest question, they will get an answer.

How could the fire not have a place here?

    Without heat you’re nowhere.

Science, knowledge, nor belief can ever inform the Human heart, only Love can by the Hearthfire in the end.

Fire is love and matter mixed, heat comes as the ego is consumed by the snake of the soul.

Guess what we have a here on OMF?

    A real hearthfire.

Just saying, people joke and push and dance and make merry around the hearthfire.

I’m just here dancing inviting others to dance and play with their beliefs.

I’ll NOT take the heavy hand much longer.

I’ll just leave this place if there is too much resistance.

    That’s the flow.

Lighten up. And if my or any words really piss you off, good, go with that. It’s your best chance to find freedoem, opening the door with the hot handle.

How do I know I’m not going to get hit by a bus?

So I will always tell you the Truth and point you to yourself.

I’ll do it manically and non-stop and be intense as it’s all that matters.

Just like the universe does each second.

    This is intense.

    I feel it here.

He says he means that Christ was all about heart and fire revelation, not Christianity, which is a false construct requiring burning by fire. He says he always has felt me as a Capricorn and given my passion, part of that fire.

All of us who created false houses have to be the only ones to burn them down, that includes Ego, our greatest individual creation. But you only get to meet the Burning Man after taking his clothes off and burning down his house.

This is what Burning Man is all about. The pagans never lost this Truth.

//He says he means that Christ was all about heart and fire revelation, not Christianity, which is a false construct requiring burning by fire. He says he always has felt me as a Capricorn and given my passion, part of that fire. //

What does this even mean, and can you provide some historical evidence that this is so?

Earlier you said that most Christians can be "cured" by studying other religions from the perspective of synchronicity.

    Really?

You mean to tell me that intellectual giants (many who were persecuted for their faith) like Ireneaus of Lyons, Tertullian, St John of Damascus, Augustine, Anselm, Aquinas, Duns Scotus, William of Occam, Martin Luther, John Calvin, all of the Reformers, Jonathan Edwards, Francis Schaeffer, and many others - were simply undeducated about other religions, which is the only reason why they fell under the "spell" of Christianity? Really?! That's quite a claim.

"Me thinks the lady doth protest too much"

    Dan,

Can you give us insight as to what will be in the next NYT article, and a time frame as to when that might be?

dd, what does it mean indeed?

I can only say, it is meaningful.

I can also only point you toward your heart and say, go look inside and wrestle with it.

Sorry, I can’t really help you Wink

    Maybe Dan can.

Though, dd, you are in luck. Look to the contemplative mystics in Christian history and Origen.

They have laid out a path for all Christians to join me in the heart.

    There, we have no religion.

    That’s the heart part.

The fire part happens when you go through that heart portal.

    All your books burn up.

    Look to Rumi as well.

He burns bright for eternity, like Christ, Buddha, Lao Tzu, OSHO.

You will know you went through the portal successfully when you can see all these people as the same and equal parts of the same Truth.

You will just know it as revealed knowledge. What you do with revealed knowledge can lead you to Truth and Wisdom or Darkness.

But that’s the Hero’s Journey. You can study that as well.

And the book I posted is from a woman, who serious theologians take as a modern living Christian mystic.

She talks the Christian language and she gently leads you into your heart and no-Self.

Read her. She is a force on Earth now like the princess and Cy and Dan.

She is a real vector, not a virtual one.

    Garz,

I've read a bit of Origen. He is hepful in some regards but problematic in others. He was clearly mixing a bit too much Greek Philosophy with the faith that was passed down to him through the Church and the Scriptures. But he is an important Church father. I don't recall him speaking of portals though. Can you give me an idea of his, which might be related to portals?

    Garzparz is incorrect about Synchronicity.

dd, evhthing is a metaphor, a symbol, everything.

    Different ages had different symbols.

Learning how to live and what the Universe is becomes fundamental to begin to understand yourself.

Portal Green Door, all metaphor for something.

What do you think that could be?

I am a great student of Science, Logic, Philosopy/Metaphysics and the classics.

But who cares what I know Wink

You have to totally immerse yourself in the time and thought and literature to have just an inkling of their meaning. Joseph Campbell, Carl jung Black Elk taught me that.

As experience now is what I feel is the only meaningful thing.

dd, how can you say he mixed too much?

    You can’t friend.

You can’t know the inner mind of anyone.

That’s kind of my big problem with Christianity practiced today to the exclusion of all others thought or experience.

Openness, not tribalism is the Tao of Christ as I understand that energy.

It is a circle, not a line we are living on.

Christ brought a revelation of love in the heart, not the world.

I can’t tell you what spirit is.

    Can you, honestly?
