First topic message reminder :

To get to Notes from the Underground you have to go by way of Fathers and Sons and What to Do.  That will take you back to the mid eighteen hundreds....... it’s been a trip, and we’re almost done.

We’re still left with the question of what to do....... modulo communism and existentialism.  

In a pre Millennial frame, I’d been advocating (a portal-centric) communalism for the duration of the Millennium.  

In post Millennialism, ie. modulo the Millennium, we have to readdress the question of what to do, ie. come up with an action item for the Princess.

Thank you for your continuing contributions.  

The points you raise about observations leave open the deeper questions about the nature of observation.

Here we have a paradox within a paradox.  

When it comes to any and all observations/measurements, where does the buck stop?  

There are just two answers....... either the buck stops or it doesn’t.  

If it doesn’t stop, you are left with the many worlds interpretation (MWI)....... for every observation the world/universe has to split into multiple branches...... one branch for each possible outcome.  

This seemingly outrageous outcome is the outcome that we are forced to accept, if we take the laws of physics at their face value.

I can argue all sides of every argument.

What happens then when all the ideas fall away?

Reality...

Then we do what we do.

No plans.

No take backs.

You suggest that there exists a reality independent of our ideas about it.

In other words, smelly, you, in a cavalier manner, are taking the side of scientific materialism.

You say you can argue both sides. Why are you choosing to come down on that side of the argument.

Then you don’t know Reality consciously.

It is simply that there is not a better story out there.

I and seven billion of my fellow beings pray to God every day, as if our lives depend on the Almighty.  

Do you have a shred of evidence to show that our trust in a personal God is misplaced?
