Where did all the Open Minds Forum members go?

Fri Oct 19, 2012 12:29 pm by Admin

With Open Minds Forum restored now for almost half a year at it's new location with forumotion.com we can now turn to look at reaching out to OMF's original members who have not yet returned home. OMF's original membership was over 6,000 members strong, prior to the proboards suspension, according to the rolls of the time. We can probably safely assume that some of those accounts were unidentified socks. If we were to assume a reasonable guess of maybe as many as 30% possible sock accounts then that would leave potentially somewhere between 4800 to 4900 possible real members to locate. That is still a substantial number of people.

Who were all these people? Some were average individuals with common interests in ufology, exopolitics, globalism, corruption, earthchanges, science and technology, and a variety of other interests. Some just enjoyed being part of a vibrant and unusually interesting community. Others were representative of various insider groups participating in observation and outreach projects, while still others were bonafide intelligence community personnel. All with stake in the hunt for truth in one fashion or another. Some in support of truth, and communication. Others seeking real disclosure and forms of proof. And others highly skeptical of anything or limited subjects. The smallest division of membership being wholly anti-disclosure oriented.

So where did these members vanish to? They had many options. There are almost innumerable other forums out there on the topics of UFO's or Exopolitics, the Unexplained, and Conspiracy Theory. Did they disappear into the world-wide network of forum inhabitants? Did some go find new homes on chatrooms or individual blogs? Did they participate in ufo conventions or other public events and gatherings? How about those who represented groups in special access? Or IC and military observers? Those with academic affiliations? Where did they all go and what would be the best way to reach out and extend an invitation to return?

And what constitutes a situation deserving of their time and participation? Is the archive enough? How exactly do people within the paradigm most desire to define a community? Is it amenities, humanity or simply population size for exposure? Most of the special guests have been emailed and have expressed that population size for exposure is what most motivates them. But not all. Long-time member Dan Smith has other priorities and values motivating his participation. Should this open opportunities for unattached junior guests who have experience and dialog to contribute to the world? How best to make use of OMF's time, experience and resources?

Many skeptics would like to see the historical guardian of discourse opportunity to just up and disappear; go into permanent stasis. They think that not everyone has a right to speak about their experiences and if there is no proof involved then there can philosophically be no value to discourse. I personally would respectfully disagree with them. Discourse has always been the prelude to meaningful relationships and meaningful mutual relationships have always been the prelude to exchanges of proof. In a contentious social environment with regards to communication vs disclosure how do we best re-establish a haven for those preludes? Is it only the "if we build it they will come" answer? Well considering OMF has been largely fully functional over the last four or five months this line of reasoning is not necessarily true. So what would be the best way re-establish this? Your suggestions are sought. Please comment.

Jesus would say..... why have you forsaken us, Lord?

This is a game that I don’t recognize.  I did not sign up for this game.  There has been a mistake.

Recall, 99, that in the BPW, virtually everything is a portal, even the kitchen sink. And, even for the portals that are physical, it is described as an out of body experience, but a experience that can be shared....... is even supposed to be shared.

With these latter sort, there are two sides........ one to be opened by us, and the other by them. And do keep in mind that these portals are for accessing the hive. The ones for the Monad could be a different story, but there are likely to be some commonalities.

Dan, who cares how many are saved or not if it all boils down to Uno or Zero?

Hope all have a chance, indeed, but I know all have had many chances.

How is that anyone’s problem in particular?

You can’t save the world.

Everything we need is here now, we were never forsaken, that’s just our errant view of things.

I can’t.

No alien can.

If you just harvested the self realized, seems enough to me.

The rest of you might want to think about that.

When all pretenders are gone, we will be left standing.

I have just been waiting.

Told you so Dan.

Direct perception is here now.

No PtB not self aware is realizing anything but death and horrible suffering because there is no heaven or hell, or fountain of youth.

It’s the last few minutes of life they may see it all finally.

Don’t wait until you die.

They simply are irrelevant and superfluous if not realized.

Ignorants at the gateless gate, farts in the wind, aren’t we all.

Only a child can go through the gateless gate.

But I’m with you Dan.

Last I checked Ron nor Princess really engages here.

Some of you here talk direct to them.

Why?

Why would you ever delegate to anyone else?

Stooopid to do so.

Maybe this is your Great Disillusionment finally Dan.

I don’t care one way or the other really, but self awareness is where it’s at and the only thing that can help anyone.

Disillusionment is a good step.

But I operate under the assumption I’m a dead man and nothing that does or doesn’t happen next is my concern.

I was asking specifically about the portal WCM was talking about. The one that you refused to go through the 3x's when you could have done that.

Is that a physical portal that you physically walk into or is it one you go through in an altered state of consciousness ONLY where your physical body remains at all times in this realm?

If it's a physical portal, who built it? Joe, or somebody else?

Thank you, smelly, for your tears of sympathy....

I don’t know about you, but many of the rest of us would not have gotten within a million miles of this place, were it not for the hopes and fears of all the years......   We’d just like to return the favor.  That’s all.

You mistook this little arrangement, if you saw it as any sort of delegation......

Yes, there was a team effort, but it was not any of us who designated the team members.  This was a very ad-hoc team.  It’s mission may have already been accomplished.

Now, the first phase is finished.  On to the next.   Very likely the team is to be reconfigured, reconstituted...... or we’re just the spent first stage.

99,

Yes, think of me as the astronaut who grabbed onto the gantry, as they were about to be shoehorned into the lunar module.

Hmmm.........

Is it rabbit hole, or bust? I guess WCM did not get the memo. With me, 99, it is Monad or bust...... two different sorts of game.

I’ll be sure to send you a postcard, regardless.

I was driving in some shit part of central Pennsylvania today visiting accounts.

On the way back, I saw a billboard that had a picture of a baby and the text said to call 855-THE-TRUTH...something about realizing God.

I called thinking I could speak to..well..anyone really..but all I got was an automated message telling me to hit 2 for free i phones.

If that doesn't summarize my experience with chasing faith, or even Dan's words, I don't know what will.

Smelly is right and wrong, and it doesn't matter.

Why don’t you put all on blog through the portal Dan?

I’m not interested though Wink

I know the truth about the portals.

Redundant, as we all are.

They are a trap is my guess, the best one.

I’m wrong about nothing at this point G, but I say when I don’t know.

I made the big leap and it seems most of you still haven’t.

I would if I were you.

on our way back to the monad, to the source, we have to pay a toll in order to transcend. the toll measured as the sum total of our experience here on earth. sum of what's been added to our consciousness thru experience, the self we've nurtured in life and offer up to be judged. perhaps we will judge ourselves in the end; under the light of truth, in the presence of the source, there will be no misrepresentations, no mistakes, nothing false, and as always the story will be written by our-selves as the co-creators. who we are matters most in this context; what self have we built with the time we have been given, are we worthy of what lies beyond? you won't find answers to those questions by looking anywhere but within.

i don't know what a portal is or how to use one, but i know what it is to love and be loved, an experience no portal can deliver or replace and for which there is no substitute. i can't seem to understand the obsession that some of you have with finding a way out of this experience. find your way to what? why are you in such a hurry? do you think you might miss out on what's out there, newsflash, we are all in this together, there is no escape to seek out, there is but the opportunity to experience and to avoid that experience denies you of the opportunity to transcend.

Word, jofo.

There is no Beyond for me, my gospel is that’s the secret to a joyful Life.

Imagine, any hope for tomorrow and you are compromised.

I have no thought or care about after my life.

What problem or concern could it possibly be to me?

THE TAMING POWER OF THE GREAT

Be the same all the way through:
quiet, still, at home. In the absence
of mind, all phenomena can be seen
for what they are -- empty. This is
freedom.

— Wei Wu Wei

In this context empty means whole within themselves.

They would rather talk to aliens than themselves, and I mean the world of UFO people.

Shrug.

Epictetus said, despite our accomplishment and talent, we are still just made of clay and a few quarts of blood.

Epictetus was much wiser than any of us here.

Especially those who hide.

Cowards.

I despise you Wink

I call you out by existing.

How the Universe Started

There was a beginning. Before there was a beginning, there was another beginning. Before that beginning was another beginning.

There is something. There is nothing. Before there was something, there was nothing. Before there was nothing, there was nothing before there was the start of nothing. If there was more nothing, would we really know whether something was really the result of nothing?

Now, I cannot really know whether what I said was worth saying. Can my conclusion be worth nothing?

— from Wisdom of the Tao

Our ancestors have given it all to us. They did their work well. They have left us such a rich treasure trove of pointless nonsense meant to confuse you and confound you. At least the few who care to take the journey up the mountain.

No one is usually up here but sheep, goats, wolves and a couple flowers.

Such is the life of a smelly mountain goat in the age of humanity’s greatest stupidities and vanities.

They will all burn in our bonfire.

Don’t worry about smelly.  He was trained on the wrong side of the potty by bible freaks.

He has not been able to figure out the difference between bible freaks and jesus freaks.

Feel sorry for smelly, he’s an Osho freak.

Somebody forgot to tell him that we are political animals.  smelly is an apolitical animal.  That’s alright.  He chokes on communion wine.  He is very germ conscious.  He drinks only from his own cup, which sometimes runneth over, verbally.

And he returns the favor by whipping us, verbally.

He has a lot in common with R&A.  Other folks will just have to look after themselves.   We are here to protect the flowers and animals.

Everything we have is ours, and deservedly so.  God has never shown us any grace.  We will show none to our fellows.  Everything we have, we’ve earned by the sweat of our souls.  You can only hurt by helping.

10..........

ME and mion,

I love smelly and R&A.  They are the best possible at something.  It is a challenge to figure out what.

They must see me as hopelessly naive.  I’m just a liberal who has yet to be mugged.  Let me have my gated community, for me and my soul.  Devil take the hindmost.  Aren’t we here for separation?

s,R&A were able to extricate themselves from trying circumstances. Why can’t the rest of us? No one lent them a hand. This is the school of hard knocks, and all the rest of us are flunking out. Too f...king bad.

Grace cannot be shared. It can only be hoarded. There is never enough to go around the table. Grab the grace that you can..... the glory train is pulling out.

Smiley, reading your posts is like overhearing the innermost thoughts of an unhinged mind giving unwarranted undiluted, full strength opinions on how screwed up this person or that person is here (or sometimes everybody) and what they need to do to fix it which invariably always boils down to whatever their interests or concerns are, IT’S NOT IMPORTANT. What you fail to say is that ‘it’s not important’ to you but you don’t need to keep reminding us of that because we already get it.

I don’t feel sorry for anyone, you fools should certainly not feel sorry for me, we are beyond being and non-being.

We won the world.

You all just haven’t remembered that yet.

Dan especially.

He’s sticking to the civilization script, separation, death.

He’s not preaching you are enough.

I’d say he’s lying to you all.

it’s obvious what’s happening and what to do.

Heaven and hell are lies that destroy your life.

Follow fools if you like.

I point to the Reality and I express it.

Dan, you are a fool and wind bag, but I love you as deluded as you are.

It’s sweet in a Human kind of way.

You are too scared to go through your own portal Dan.

I stand on this side laughing at you sweet fool.

99, judge all but yourself.

See how that works out for you.

She ain’t no Jedi.

Of course you call nakedness insanity.

You don’t know how to dance.

She’s terrified.

But it takes all kinds to make a meal.

She does have quite a nasty edge.
