Monkey's, Self-Awareness and etc

Monkeys and self-awareness:
Monkeys, once they figure out what's showing in a mirror, which takes a little bit of time (and some instructions from their handlers too), they pass the mirror test for self-awareness with flying colors. 

The monkey in the YouTube link below shows a rhesus monkey  examining himself when looking in a mirror all the way to opening his mouth to examine it. They also do the mirror dot test on him too and when he sees the dot on his face via looking at himself in the mirror, he tries to rub it off. Humans can't do any of this until 2 years of age.

The monkey in the vid is a young juvenile.

It would be interesting to see what happens years from now as more and more monkeys are exposed to mirrors and learn that they can see themselves in one. Will the 100th monkey effect phenomenon occur where, as time goes by, the awareness factor of being able to see themselves in mirrors becomes shorter than it is now where they will become more like chimps and orangutans who recognize themselves via a mirror right from the get-go?
