Where did all the Open Minds Forum members go?

Fri Oct 19, 2012 12:29 pm by Admin

With Open Minds Forum restored now for almost half a year at it's new location with forumotion.com we can now turn to look at reaching out to OMF's original members who have not yet returned home. OMF's original membership was over 6,000 members strong, prior to the proboards suspension, according to the rolls of the time. We can probably safely assume that some of those accounts were unidentified socks. If we were to assume a reasonable guess of maybe as many as 30% possible sock accounts then that would leave potentially somewhere between 4800 to 4900 possible real members to locate. That is still a substantial number of people.

Who were all these people? Some were average individuals with common interests in ufology, exopolitics, globalism, corruption, earthchanges, science and technology, and a variety of other interests. Some just enjoyed being part of a vibrant and unusually interesting community. Others were representative of various insider groups participating in observation and outreach projects, while still others were bonafide intelligence community personnel. All with stake in the hunt for truth in one fashion or another. Some in support of truth, and communication. Others seeking real disclosure and forms of proof. And others highly skeptical of anything or limited subjects. The smallest division of membership being wholly anti-disclosure oriented.

So where did these members vanish to? They had many options. There are almost innumerable other forums out there on the topics of UFO's or Exopolitics, the Unexplained, and Conspiracy Theory. Did they disappear into the world-wide network of forum inhabitants? Did some go find new homes on chatrooms or individual blogs? Did they participate in ufo conventions or other public events and gatherings? How about those who represented groups in special access? Or IC and military observers? Those with academic affiliations? Where did they all go and what would be the best way to reach out and extend an invitation to return?

And what constitutes a situation deserving of their time and participation? Is the archive enough? How exactly do people within the paradigm most desire to define a community? Is it amenities, humanity or simply population size for exposure? Most of the special guests have been emailed and have expressed that population size for exposure is what most motivates them. But not all. Long-time member Dan Smith has other priorities and values motivating his participation. Should this open opportunities for unattached junior guests who have experience and dialog to contribute to the world? How best to make use of OMF's time, experience and resources?

Many skeptics would like to see the historical guardian of discourse opportunity to just up and disappear; go into permanent stasis. They think that not everyone has a right to speak about their experiences and if there is no proof involved then there can philosophically be no value to discourse. I personally would respectfully disagree with them. Discourse has always been the prelude to meaningful relationships and meaningful mutual relationships have always been the prelude to exchanges of proof. In a contentious social environment with regards to communication vs disclosure how do we best re-establish a haven for those preludes? Is it only the "if we build it they will come" answer? Well considering OMF has been largely fully functional over the last four or five months this line of reasoning is not necessarily true. So what would be the best way re-establish this? Your suggestions are sought. Please comment.

ALERT: RADIOLOGICAL PROBLEM IN CARLSBAD NEW MEXICO

    http://intellihub.com/doe-spokesman-n-m-radiological-event-safe-say-weve-never-seen-level-like-seeing/

Ultra-high levels of radiation have been detected and may still be spewing into the air as crews try to prevent the further spread of radioactive particles

Astonishingly, a U.S. government operated facility which haphazardly dumps weapons grade plutonium and other radioactive waste into a one-thousand foot deep naturally formed salt mine, has suffered a “radiological event” of some type.

“[...] it’s safe to say we’ve never seen a level like we are seeing. We just don’t know if it’s a real event, but it looks like one”, said a Dept. of Energy spokesman.

THIS IS NOT GOOD!! OUR FUKUSHIMA? At least this one is buried.....

Hmmm, hopefully we're not looking at another Bayou Corne, Assumption Parish LA. That too was salt caverns being used to store toxic materials, according to some sources emits radioactive, and oils have floated to the surface, micro tremors, ever widening size, you name it.

Someone who is supposed to be taking care of the maintenance on all the systems may not be doing their job.

    RSOE-EDIS - Situation Update

    Thursday, 27 February, 2014 at 04:11 UTC

Thirteen workers were exposed to radiation during a recent leak at the U.S. underground nuclear waste dump in southeastern New Mexico, according to the results of preliminary tests announced Wednesday. The U.S. Department of Energy and the contractor that runs the Waste Isolation Pilot Project said in a joint news release that they have notified the workers of the positive results and will do further testing. They declined to comment further until a news conference Thursday afternoon. "It is important to note that these are initial sample results," the statement said. "These employees, both federal and contractor, will be asked to provide additional samples in order to fully determine the extent of any exposure." All employees who were working when the leak occurred late Feb. 14 were checked for external contamination before being allowed to leave, the news release said. But biological samples were also taken to check for possible exposure from inhaling radioactive particles. Elevated radiation levels have been detected in the air around the plant, but officials have said the readings are too low to constitute a public health threat. The accident is the first-known release of radiation since the dump near Carlsbad began taking plutonium-contaminated waste from the nation's nuclear bomb building sites 15 years ago. It came just nine days after a truck hauling salt in the plant's deep mines caught fire, but officials say they are confident the incidents are unrelated. Officials said they can tell from their analyses of air samples in and around the plant that a container of waste leaked, but it could be weeks before they can get underground to find out what caused it. Possible scenarios include a ceiling collapse or a forklift puncturing a canister, Farok Sharif, president of the Nuclear Waste Partnership that runs the plant, said Monday before a community meeting in Carlsbad. More than 250 people attended that forum, where Sharif and Joe Franco, the DOE site office manager, told sometimes skeptical residents that the elevated amounts of radiation that have been detected offer no more risk than a dental X-ray or an airline flight. WIPP is the nation's first deep underground nuclear repository and the only facility in the country that can store plutonium-contaminated clothing and tools from Los Alamos National Laboratory and other federal nuclear sites.

`There must be alot of flack going on behind closed doors about this as there was some clowning around going on during this mornings Weather Channel report which they interupted just long enough to seriously report that some gal had come up with some way to use the remaining leftover radioactive material for energy generation. The report specified only that it involved the interior of the rods but didn't say how the material would be used up only that it was supposed to be good news...well it was very lame reporting without any meat. Sort of like regurgitating some fraction of a conversation the audience was only dribbling in on.
