Before we ask ourselves any other questions........

Here is the #1 priority question........

Who the heck do we think we are?  

I’m not aware that this question has ever been seriously asked before.  The only precedent of which I’m aware is when it was simply posed by Paul Gauguin.  

I would not pose this question unless I thought I had the rudiments of an answer.  I’m seeking help from anyone who would be willing to participate in fleshing out the answer.

Yes, I’m not really sure what 99 is on about.  She should feel free to explain herself.


I think most of us recognize that, on the surface, we are just going through the motions.  This is likely to be true if we are a big world, a small world, a material world or an immaterial world.  

The appearance of free will is a very strong one.  That appearance haunts our everyday utterances.  Yet, it is a very slippery concept, when it comes to actually pinning it down.  

Freedom of expression is another fraught concept....... but not so fraught when you end up in jail for saying the wrong thing in the wrong place.  

Most of the time you don’t end up in jail, but social approbation has its subtle and not so subtle aspects.  

I’m not aware of any society being more lax about idiosyncratic expression than is the US, and this tolerance extends well beyond mere utterances.

Yes, I’m taking advantage of that freedom..... pushing it beyond the pale, even.  All to what end.......?  

Or, such idiosyncrasy is just my protocol. It all goes back to that morning, early in 1977, when I took the JW bible of the shelf and started flipping through the pages. Exactly what prompted me to do that...... well, I have speculated thereabouts.

But please allow me to qualify my previous statement of indifference concerning the ontology of Creatorship......

I was making a very broad statement...... likely for rhetorical effect.

I think we all care...... many of us deeply.  I am certainly not care free, in that regard.

Many of us care deeply about the non existence of a Creator...... we may feel terribly put upon by the approbations of believers...... in many places, atheism can be a death sentence.  

Here, we are coming under the gun...... of a possible Disclosure..... and God knows what that may bring.  

We moderns are often not aware of the very fragile nature of scientific materialism........ one paranormal prick, and it’s all gone...... and I’m just chicken little.  

But how many pricks have there been, you may well ask?

We have recently witnessed the second prick, in the New York Times.  If there were an organ of the secular establishment, that would be it..... yet the world still goes on about its business....... you know.... marrying, burying and all that kind of stuff.  

And then there was my little briefing last night...... nothing really new, but, still, hearing it from a third party, in a condensed form..... it was a bit like walking through a portal...... or so they tell me.  

Something this way comes...... slouching toward Bethlehem?  

You look down at your shoes, and wonder if they could stand a bit of polish.  I’m sure smelly knows the feeling......

Smile like we mean it.....?

Of course, it could all blow over..... or under...... but just sayin’.... I can’t pretend not to have a weather eye out.  It’s a small world..... after all...... really small..... whew.....

A Buddhist, a Christian, an Atheist, a Pagan....... walk into a bar..... on Times Square....... that’s a small world.

Are we going to tell the scientific establishment to contemplate their navel...... to start growing tomatoes. Yes, that would be the very best advice....... but it takes a little getting used to.

Just a thought...I agree but, as we know, it's a dog eat dog world but we have to learn how to live with each other and forgive all of the bad things we do because we're all made of the same stuff by one God who, unlike your shoes Dan, shines upon us and makes us what we are yet sometimes not what we become... (really don't know how to end this but hey! at least I'm trying ok?)

The last serious attempt at intervention in this tidy arrangement was contemplated by Ike...... sending in the Army.  The record shows that he was counseled discretion.  

But speaking of the devil, it is mainly the lowly foot who has provided liaison to the White House, over the last few administrations.  He’s not a member, but he still manages to keep his finger in the pie.  

There are 4-8 hundred who are kept abreast of these proceedings.  

There has been no conclusion as to the provenance of the craft or critters.  Hmmm....... it might not hurt to ask....... her.  

The other countries.......?

I’m sure that many have their own sorts of channels...... but nothing quite so concerted. I would guess that this is mainly because our...... not quite so central control....... lends itself more to..... ‘ad hocery’. This would pretty much take that cake, don’t you think?
