Where did all the Open Minds Forum members go?

Fri Oct 19, 2012 12:29 pm by Admin

With Open Minds Forum restored now for almost half a year at it's new location with forumotion.com we can now turn to look at reaching out to OMF's original members who have not yet returned home. OMF's original membership was over 6,000 members strong, prior to the proboards suspension, according to the rolls of the time. We can probably safely assume that some of those accounts were unidentified socks. If we were to assume a reasonable guess of maybe as many as 30% possible sock accounts then that would leave potentially somewhere between 4800 to 4900 possible real members to locate. That is still a substantial number of people.

Who were all these people? Some were average individuals with common interests in ufology, exopolitics, globalism, corruption, earthchanges, science and technology, and a variety of other interests. Some just enjoyed being part of a vibrant and unusually interesting community. Others were representative of various insider groups participating in observation and outreach projects, while still others were bonafide intelligence community personnel. All with stake in the hunt for truth in one fashion or another. Some in support of truth, and communication. Others seeking real disclosure and forms of proof. And others highly skeptical of anything or limited subjects. The smallest division of membership being wholly anti-disclosure oriented.

So where did these members vanish to? They had many options. There are almost innumerable other forums out there on the topics of UFO's or Exopolitics, the Unexplained, and Conspiracy Theory. Did they disappear into the world-wide network of forum inhabitants? Did some go find new homes on chatrooms or individual blogs? Did they participate in ufo conventions or other public events and gatherings? How about those who represented groups in special access? Or IC and military observers? Those with academic affiliations? Where did they all go and what would be the best way to reach out and extend an invitation to return?

And what constitutes a situation deserving of their time and participation? Is the archive enough? How exactly do people within the paradigm most desire to define a community? Is it amenities, humanity or simply population size for exposure? Most of the special guests have been emailed and have expressed that population size for exposure is what most motivates them. But not all. Long-time member Dan Smith has other priorities and values motivating his participation. Should this open opportunities for unattached junior guests who have experience and dialog to contribute to the world? How best to make use of OMF's time, experience and resources?

Many skeptics would like to see the historical guardian of discourse opportunity to just up and disappear; go into permanent stasis. They think that not everyone has a right to speak about their experiences and if there is no proof involved then there can philosophically be no value to discourse. I personally would respectfully disagree with them. Discourse has always been the prelude to meaningful relationships and meaningful mutual relationships have always been the prelude to exchanges of proof. In a contentious social environment with regards to communication vs disclosure how do we best re-establish a haven for those preludes? Is it only the "if we build it they will come" answer? Well considering OMF has been largely fully functional over the last four or five months this line of reasoning is not necessarily true. So what would be the best way re-establish this? Your suggestions are sought. Please comment.

Post by Post Eschaton Punk Tue Sep 11, 2018 1:30 pm

Almost everything I have ever posted on OMF was automatic Bibliomancy, but I don't use just books, as soon as more than two things connect, I write it down and then there are connections that I never see, that would never happen, if I didn't stay connected and broadcast my pirate signal.

See, I am a pirate radio station.

I have to be this way.

Anyway, this is the source of my Magick, I let the Cosmos say what it likes.

I have learned to trust it by doing it and have gotten better and better at it, as my will comes into clearer focus, so the signal power increases.

Dan knows it's real, he's seen it.

I am amused when others argue with IT.

IT makes me laugh and fart goat farts, thats why I'm so stinky, because all this shit stinks.

And that's the Cosmos' message, clean up your act muppets.

So it does take a basic faith in all this mess to channel above and what is underneath it.

A yogi can learn to stop his heart for several minutes after many years.

More and more I can stop my mind for long periods of time now, I am perfectly still, in the moment.

I am often writing from this shamanic trance state.

That's why I have picked up on Dan, hobbit, wk, you and all the music.

How I can smell fear, this is just what Being Human is.

It is all connected, very very connected.

But it could all and prob is just a joke we are all here appearing as separate beings.

You can't really take any of this too serious if you want to abide with it.

    You are wrong, smelly.

I have seen nothing.  My channel is the news from nowhere channel....... NfNtv.

You ought to try it sometime.

However, the frequency may be above your bandwidth.

    What is the frequency, Kenneth?

Or, more likely, smelly, my channel operates on a spread spectrum, which spectrum you have not yet deciphered...... not quite.....

    Amusing musings

My favorite scene from Benjamin Button:

Benjamin with his wondrous ancient face sitting in his
wheelchair with the old people on the porch... watching
    the sun go down...

    BENJAMIN BUTTON (Voice Over)
It was a wonderful place to grow
up. I was with people who had put
    away all the inconsequences of
life, left in a state of purely
    being...wondering about the
    weather...the temperature of a
bath...the light at the end of the
    day...

And one of them, as if to underscore the point, farts...

    Hello, Cy, OMF II - Part 2 - Page 30 Baphom10

The peach petals would like to stay,

But moon and wind blow them on.

You won’t find those ancient men,

Those dynasties are dead and gone.

Day by day the blossoms fall,

Year by year the people go.

Where the dust blows through these heights,

There once shone a silent sea.

Out of the ashes the middle way abides the eventides

I don’t guess or speak of things I don’t know about.

I can only know a person by their actions.

I can psychically connect to some and communicate over great distances.

These are the aromas of knowing.

Muppets amuse when they are so far and close to their own knowing.

We all have boogers and we all fart and stink sometimes.

There are different versions of the CohTT.

    Being practical.

“The word "reality" is used here with respect to an observer, a consciousness. We are therefore concerned here with our subjective, or inner reality, our psychological state and what it may reflect from an underlying dimension or substrate.

This question deals with the philosophy behind self-realization. It theorizes that our consciousness, which seems to be associated with our nervous system (brain/body), is actually all that actually exists, and that existence is experiential rather than objective and measurable. The philosophy states (in slightly different words according to teacher and tradition) that it is only stored stresses, or learned conditioning, that makes us identify with mind and body instead of the unbounded consciousness behind them.”

“Each life is formed by its unique image, an image that is the essence of that life and calls it to a destiny. As the force of fate, this image acts as a personal daimon, an accompanying guide who remembers your calling.

The daimon motivates. It protects. It invents and persists with stubborn fidelity. It resists compromising reasonableness and often forces deviance and oddity upon its keeper, especially when neglected or opposed. It offers comfort and can pull you into its shell, but it cannot abide innocence. It can make the body ill. It is out of step with time, finding all sorts of faults, gaps, and knots in the flow of life - and it prefers them. It has affinities with myth, since it is itself a mythical being and thinks in mythical patterns.

It has much to do with feelings of uniqueness, of grandeur and with the restlessness of the heart, its impatience, its dissatisfaction, its yearning. It needs its share of beauty. It wants to be seen, witnessed, accorded recognition, particularly by the person who is its caretaker. Metaphoric images are its first unlearned language, which provides the poetic basis of mind, making possible communication between all people and all things by means of metaphors”

    My response to myself iz...

    Do not idolize yourself
    Dance with your self
    Be with your self
    Really deeply
    Be with your self
    Where you are
    How you are
    When you are
    Which is all of it

Is there something wrong with being a boring pretender?

We already know you know there is nothing wrong with it and you were just pointing it out.

    We get it.

There is nothing to point out though. We watch ourself carefully and are quite aware of when we are a boring pretender or a dancing pretender. Neither one is better than the other.
