Where did all the Open Minds Forum members go?

Fri Oct 19, 2012 12:29 pm by Admin

With Open Minds Forum restored now for almost half a year at it's new location with forumotion.com we can now turn to look at reaching out to OMF's original members who have not yet returned home. OMF's original membership was over 6,000 members strong, prior to the proboards suspension, according to the rolls of the time. We can probably safely assume that some of those accounts were unidentified socks. If we were to assume a reasonable guess of maybe as many as 30% possible sock accounts then that would leave potentially somewhere between 4800 to 4900 possible real members to locate. That is still a substantial number of people.

Who were all these people? Some were average individuals with common interests in ufology, exopolitics, globalism, corruption, earthchanges, science and technology, and a variety of other interests. Some just enjoyed being part of a vibrant and unusually interesting community. Others were representative of various insider groups participating in observation and outreach projects, while still others were bonafide intelligence community personnel. All with stake in the hunt for truth in one fashion or another. Some in support of truth, and communication. Others seeking real disclosure and forms of proof. And others highly skeptical of anything or limited subjects. The smallest division of membership being wholly anti-disclosure oriented.

So where did these members vanish to? They had many options. There are almost innumerable other forums out there on the topics of UFO's or Exopolitics, the Unexplained, and Conspiracy Theory. Did they disappear into the world-wide network of forum inhabitants? Did some go find new homes on chatrooms or individual blogs? Did they participate in ufo conventions or other public events and gatherings? How about those who represented groups in special access? Or IC and military observers? Those with academic affiliations? Where did they all go and what would be the best way to reach out and extend an invitation to return?

And what constitutes a situation deserving of their time and participation? Is the archive enough? How exactly do people within the paradigm most desire to define a community? Is it amenities, humanity or simply population size for exposure? Most of the special guests have been emailed and have expressed that population size for exposure is what most motivates them. But not all. Long-time member Dan Smith has other priorities and values motivating his participation. Should this open opportunities for unattached junior guests who have experience and dialog to contribute to the world? How best to make use of OMF's time, experience and resources?

Many skeptics would like to see the historical guardian of discourse opportunity to just up and disappear; go into permanent stasis. They think that not everyone has a right to speak about their experiences and if there is no proof involved then there can philosophically be no value to discourse. I personally would respectfully disagree with them. Discourse has always been the prelude to meaningful relationships and meaningful mutual relationships have always been the prelude to exchanges of proof. In a contentious social environment with regards to communication vs disclosure how do we best re-establish a haven for those preludes? Is it only the "if we build it they will come" answer? Well considering OMF has been largely fully functional over the last four or five months this line of reasoning is not necessarily true. So what would be the best way re-establish this? Your suggestions are sought. Please comment.

    It’s funny.

As much as most on OMF are focused on outward phonomena, I feel the gravity of the inner phonomena.

I’d say it’s a nice compliment of experiencers.

But we will all end within.

No one is coming to take any of you away.

I wish they would come and take some of you away though Wink

Ive seen places ive never seen...
I have smelled aromas where I have never been...
I have received undeniably accurate information about issues and circumstance I have never encountered with any of my senses ... The past five years everything has been ramping up the intensity the frequency the modulation and resonation...
Directly proportional to my growing ability to forget this world, have I equally learned more information about it as a consequence… Magical things I never thought possible… I have seen things I never would have believed just two years ago ... and as time passes the orchestra plays on and right now the orchestra is in full crescendo ...

For some strange reason I've been connected to the top people in the fields...and I have made the most amazing new friends; some of the most inspiring people I've ever met... and several of you are on this forum of course Dan being one of them ...

    PSI= Right Brain/Left Brain x2

And just because you shrink from this world, to acquire greater access to GIFTS, does not mean you shrink from caring about others - in fact far from it, because only the truly learned understand that selflessness does NOT equal selfishness...
    Selflessness is selflessness...

Joe is an AMAZING HUMAN... his brain power is out of control !!! Yet conversely his heart and compassion is equally gargantuan. I am praying and rooting for him!

    AP,

Beautiful post and yes I too feel very lucky to have for whatever reason I am unsure, been fortunate to have been granted or chosen to have an experience we call "life" that has led me to find or seek out so many amazingly kind people of deep knowledge and wisdom who have been generous to help me to continue to learn to help myself. I like you, wish to particularly thank Dan for his time and patience! In fact, I want to thank all here on OMF each of whom have helped make me think, learn and grow, along with the various people and animals who have touched, shared and continue to shape my current experience.

I have not had the indescribable experiences as you and many have had, nor have I had the pleasure of speaking to Joe. However, may I say this as one who follows what work he has made public on the various platforms 'I believe in Joe, as I do Dan, Foot, The Princess, John, Kevin and all those who I don't know nor, may never know' because despite everything and our collective eagerness and desire to 'know things' many people have and continue to work tirelessly for humanity. For all life. I believe in humanity because humans when they are at their best aren't what we often see played out across the, press, internet or on TV. Many truly care and some, are I believe despite our not even knowing, working and trying to save us all and give everyone a better world. or perhaps I should say the BPW.

Despite what anyone thinks I for one am truly grateful.

    Hey, Scott,

Anything I know is up for grabs.

AP May know some proprietary stuff.

In my humble opinion, Joe is no philosopher.

Joe is a technician and a former CEO.

As such, he has ample self confidence, and also tends to go by the book.

AP, on the other hand, is a former comedian, turned media consultant.

Also, AP, is highly motivated to find out what going on in the portal/ufo wold.  He has found out a lot in a brief amount of time, by developing his personal connections.

I am delighted to be counted amongst these.

    Hey Dan,

I know re yourself as you have been kind to afford me time. Plenty of it! You will be glad to know I'm sure I will be seeking your wisdom again soon lol!

As for Joe, I am unqualified to comment. I have not had the opportunity to speak to him but if he is open to having his ear bent from Ireland I would be delighted to call him. Otherwise I will try not to miss the next phone in if one is scheduled.

However, my thoughts from what I know of Joe from what is public domain.

    - Joe was a CEO of what I understand to be two very successful Tech companies (I think what I used to do in the Tech world actually used some of his products at one time on this side of the pond)

    - Philosopher? Wouldn't know - However, its clear to me he is a scientist / alchemist kind of blend as IMO, I personally believe that no traditional materialistic scientist that I am aware of is ever going to answer or solve the questions that humans want answers to or solutions for, materialistically.

    - Most importantly though, I think from what he has posted and his comments in old interviews I do believe he genuinely means what he says. It is clear he has dedicated himself to and wants to do something transformational for us all and that to me is amazing as those who are 'willing to die for something' anything, that would create transformation, have a habit of creating that transformation, either single handedly or by having drawn to them the 'right people, right resources' at the right time. No?

As for AP, I am delighted to have thanks to OM, connected with him and made a new dear friend with whom I share much of his desire and passions for a better world for all. His science knowledge leaves me with much catch up to do though! lol

Oh I also believe pretty much everyone here wants that same better world - its just some are involved in doing the 'heavy lifting' part! You would know!

Unfortunately, Joe doesn’t believe in persons.

That is the whole game, right there.

    Everything else is noise.

    But that’s just my opinion.

    Do "persons" have free will?

I guess you DO believe in free will as you are suggesting that Joe has a choice to believe in "persons" or not.

Yet, you also say that everything in this world is predestined... and if that's so, then logically, free will does not exist.

So that's just another paradox in Christianity and it's one that exists also in your line of thinking.

So in the BPW, both exist and both are true so it's best to not bother trying to explore and unravel this mystery and just leave it be.

But just because G-d has foreknowledge of all of our choices, that does not mean that She predetermined those choices that we made or are making or will make in the future.

Do you really suppose that I am quite so sloppy in my thinking?

No, I do not subscribe to free will.

But you are right that this position appears to be counter intuitive.

What are we, persons about, if we are not about free will?

And you are correct that omniscience, by itself, does not necessarily preclude free will.

But the BPWH does preclude free will, at least in our naive understanding of the issue.

Are we just along for the ride, according to the BPWH?

    Yes and no........

Yes, we cannot deliberately derail the BPW.

But...... I would suggest that we still participate in the coCreation of the world.

There is a mine field of paradoxes here about.  We had best tread carefully........

Remember, now, that each of us is a chip off the old block.

    Try this.......

Each of us is a weak measurer of the world.

I am mashing up Protagoras and Aharonov...... and smelly.

Yes, the BPWH is just an elaboration on the Schrodinger cat gedanken experiment.

We are the Monad’s bootstrap.  We bootstrap ourselves into existence.

This is what personhood is actually about.

We have as much free will as Hamlet......

To be or not to be.........?

But Hamlet could have saved himself a lot of trouble, if instead he had asked...... why is there something rather than nothing?
