Where did all the Open Minds Forum members go?

Fri Oct 19, 2012 3:29 pm by Admin

With Open Minds Forum restored now for almost half a year at it's new location with forumotion.com we can now turn to look at reaching out to OMF's original members who have not yet returned home. OMF's original membership was over 6,000 members strong, prior to the proboards suspension, according to the rolls of the time. We can probably safely assume that some of those accounts were unidentified socks. If we were to assume a reasonable guess of maybe as many as 30% possible sock accounts then that would leave potentially somewhere between 4800 to 4900 possible real members to locate. That is still a substantial number of people.

Who were all these people? Some were average individuals with common interests in ufology, exopolitics, globalism, corruption, earthchanges, science and technology, and a variety of other interests. Some just enjoyed being part of a vibrant and unusually interesting community. Others were representative of various insider groups participating in observation and outreach projects, while still others were bonafide intelligence community personnel. All with stake in the hunt for truth in one fashion or another. Some in support of truth, and communication. Others seeking real disclosure and forms of proof. And others highly skeptical of anything or limited subjects. The smallest division of membership being wholly anti-disclosure oriented.

So where did these members vanish to? They had many options. There are almost innumerable other forums out there on the topics of UFO's or Exopolitics, the Unexplained, and Conspiracy Theory. Did they disappear into the world-wide network of forum inhabitants? Did some go find new homes on chatrooms or individual blogs? Did they participate in ufo conventions or other public events and gatherings? How about those who represented groups in special access? Or IC and military observers? Those with academic affiliations? Where did they all go and what would be the best way to reach out and extend an invitation to return?

And what constitutes a situation deserving of their time and participation? Is the archive enough? How exactly do people within the paradigm most desire to define a community? Is it amenities, humanity or simply population size for exposure? Most of the special guests have been emailed and have expressed that population size for exposure is what most motivates them. But not all. Long-time member Dan Smith has other priorities and values motivating his participation. Should this open opportunities for unattached junior guests who have experience and dialog to contribute to the world? How best to make use of OMF's time, experience and resources?

Many skeptics would like to see the historical guardian of discourse opportunity to just up and disappear; go into permanent stasis. They think that not everyone has a right to speak about their experiences and if there is no proof involved then there can philosophically be no value to discourse. I personally would respectfully disagree with them. Discourse has always been the prelude to meaningful relationships and meaningful mutual relationships have always been the prelude to exchanges of proof. In a contentious social environment with regards to communication vs disclosure how do we best re-establish a haven for those preludes? Is it only the "if we build it they will come" answer? Well considering OMF has been largely fully functional over the last four or five months this line of reasoning is not necessarily true. So what would be the best way re-establish this? Your suggestions are sought. Please comment.

AP, I wish you well on your errand brave Knight...

But of course there isn’t anything to do but relax into love.

There isn’t one more thought or word that will help or change or awaken anyone.

    It’s already done.

    BREAKTHROUGH

Forget all ideas of accomplishing something
-- in your practice and everywhere else.
    Everything is already accomplished.

If this sounds like a tricky idea to you,
the flaw is in your understanding
of reality, not in reality itself.

Allowing nature to manifest is the way
of the Way. By setting aside our ambitions
and leaving the Way to the Way, we perfect
    the Way.

    —Do Not Doing

I leave ALL the work to you guys, you must be here to do it and I just be here to do not doing Wink

Myth is a powerful thing, I’m watching one be created before my eyez.

The Cosmos doesn’t owe us anything, especially happiness.

So what is there to do and who are all these ‘persons’ doing things like bouncing atoms?

    Don’t know...

It is the wonder of a child and the ahhhh that things are realized.

    Follow your bliss.

Share the mystery and your wonder at life, because no one knows shit about what all this dancing energy is.

And if anyone says they do, they are a deluded lying fools and the jokes on them.

    Dan,

    "Stupid|" hobbit here,

I realise that You have been raised upon dictionaries for breakfast, whilst I have eaten none.

But if You think I am low on intelligence, think again.

Nature is My dictionary, and the ability to attune to whatever I choose, at will instantly.
Fear has no place in hobbit land, it is the only thing to fear.

This world is a living entity, and humans are it's off spring, as is all of nature.

It's very simple really, so it needs those most attuned to the simple way to recognise that this planet, as a loving mother, will provide whatever is desired by it's off spring, therefore listen not to the fear filled ego centred STUPID ones.

Hobbit, stupid people call people stupid.

You are one of the brightest clear lights here and need no one to know it.

I thought Dan was joking, but maybe he’s just an asshole.

AP, you inspired my little thread.

We are to slay our dragons.

I spoke a great deal about what Dragons spoke to me here.

    What I spoke to myself.

    How do slay your Dragons?

Have tea with them and relax and have fun.

Life is a blast and then you die.

    Isn’t that enough?

You will never find more truth than following your heart and having fun.

Meeting those Dragons is a once in a lifetime experience, we can stop fighting them.

Dr Sheldrake explores the evolution of the sense of beauty in animals and humans, how beauty seems to be inherent in nature, arising in resonance with animal minds both great and small.

Post by Post Eschaton Punk Mon Jun 04, 2018 2:49 am

To know the Cosmos and ourselves as that, we had to separate ourselves. The weak ineffective spirit is what is uncomfortable in the constricting flesh. Where the spirit is free when not in the body, it gives up this freedom to extend life and organize matter. Whose to say that’s true or not? I don’t understand what this is really outside of experience.

Who else could ask the question, who are we, but ourselves? All of this seems to be to trigger us to ask that question. The question is not who are They, but who are We? We can be citizens of the whole Cosmos instead of its Lords and Masters. Animals must always say yes to nature, but we are permitted to appear to say no in order to seek out and understand our relationship to everything else. Are we the Caretakers of the Cosmos? Primary perception is beyond words, but words are fun to use to reflect on IT through the correspondences to life here and to imagine the worlds that could come to be. Perhaps we are here simply to add color to the canvas through our imaginations, how else do you make a free wheelin Cosmos?

So what is a hypnagogic state?

I’m so glad you asked the Smelly Goat.

This is the state similar to twilight, the time before falling asleep and waking up. I feel we have all corporately entered a hypnagogic state with Trump. I’ve become pretty good at using this state to explore consciousness using active imagination. Any experiencer is trying to understand their own hypnagogic events and states of mind. This is why creativity is so effective in getting one into this state, self-induced active imagination. You can grow this skill like a muscle. Just like someone must interpret words, we can learn to read the world through non-verbal and suprasensible experience.

There is no phenomena not backed by a Suprasensible noumenal reality to one who sees into things. This is what Symbolism in art is all about. Art links us to Barfield’s idea of participation. Rudolf Steiner Swedenborg, Blake, all Hypnagogists taught by a mystagogue I’m sure. My mystagogue is part goat. Steiner called our original conscious experience, Old Moon consciousness. And in the hypnagogic state we can connect again to these ancient states of mind behind the sensible world, creating it. I have found and acknowledge clearly another presence within, “The Stranger” or “The Messenger” who desires to return to their true free world beyond sense and logical thought. Perhaps they are pressed into service or caught by our emotional gravity.

Perhaos we are black holes inside that empty out into a white hole somewhere else now. At the convex surface of the 9th sphere is the celestial city, the sphere of spheres. The Cosmos is felt within us, not us in IT. Then the invisible surges outside of us and takes over our outer world. Beyond this point it seems the world moves inside out. Imagination can unite consciousness and its object of focus.

Appearance and being can become one.

A great mystery, Consciousness and object are inseparable in the imagination. Inner necessity and truth keep us from going off the rails hopefully. Goethe calls this the secret of the Primal Plant that can go on changing forever. Barfield says imagination can free of us from our idols. He says we live in a world of idolatry. Very true. We can breath new life into phenomena. True imagination needs responsibilty to wield and we are learning that now. Lots of people experimenting with this are connected here.

Pretty cool if you asked me.

Some of this is self-revealed and some of it is out there plain as day to find and see if you see beyond or into things. We are capturing the world this way bit by bit, to resurrect later perhaps, who knows...

Not I...straight on not knowing, doing not doing, walking backwards in a dark world.
