Where did all the Open Minds Forum members go?

Fri Oct 19, 2012 12:29 pm by Admin

With Open Minds Forum restored now for almost half a year at it's new location with forumotion.com we can now turn to look at reaching out to OMF's original members who have not yet returned home. OMF's original membership was over 6,000 members strong, prior to the proboards suspension, according to the rolls of the time. We can probably safely assume that some of those accounts were unidentified socks. If we were to assume a reasonable guess of maybe as many as 30% possible sock accounts then that would leave potentially somewhere between 4800 to 4900 possible real members to locate. That is still a substantial number of people.

Who were all these people? Some were average individuals with common interests in ufology, exopolitics, globalism, corruption, earthchanges, science and technology, and a variety of other interests. Some just enjoyed being part of a vibrant and unusually interesting community. Others were representative of various insider groups participating in observation and outreach projects, while still others were bonafide intelligence community personnel. All with stake in the hunt for truth in one fashion or another. Some in support of truth, and communication. Others seeking real disclosure and forms of proof. And others highly skeptical of anything or limited subjects. The smallest division of membership being wholly anti-disclosure oriented.

So where did these members vanish to? They had many options. There are almost innumerable other forums out there on the topics of UFO's or Exopolitics, the Unexplained, and Conspiracy Theory. Did they disappear into the world-wide network of forum inhabitants? Did some go find new homes on chatrooms or individual blogs? Did they participate in ufo conventions or other public events and gatherings? How about those who represented groups in special access? Or IC and military observers? Those with academic affiliations? Where did they all go and what would be the best way to reach out and extend an invitation to return?

And what constitutes a situation deserving of their time and participation? Is the archive enough? How exactly do people within the paradigm most desire to define a community? Is it amenities, humanity or simply population size for exposure? Most of the special guests have been emailed and have expressed that population size for exposure is what most motivates them. But not all. Long-time member Dan Smith has other priorities and values motivating his participation. Should this open opportunities for unattached junior guests who have experience and dialog to contribute to the world? How best to make use of OMF's time, experience and resources?

Many skeptics would like to see the historical guardian of discourse opportunity to just up and disappear; go into permanent stasis. They think that not everyone has a right to speak about their experiences and if there is no proof involved then there can philosophically be no value to discourse. I personally would respectfully disagree with them. Discourse has always been the prelude to meaningful relationships and meaningful mutual relationships have always been the prelude to exchanges of proof. In a contentious social environment with regards to communication vs disclosure how do we best re-establish a haven for those preludes? Is it only the "if we build it they will come" answer? Well considering OMF has been largely fully functional over the last four or five months this line of reasoning is not necessarily true. So what would be the best way re-establish this? Your suggestions are sought. Please comment.

    First topic message reminder :

    99,

I would give him a bit more credit than that.

In the Endtimes, the news will become the entertainment, and the entertainment will become the news.

God = +0.  We = God.  God = us....... in the End.

And, please, 99, don’t tell me about the SoT.  [You are welcome to put your annotations in brackets.]

Seems like the TTSA might be nothing more than a mechanism to start the BPW conversation with folks who are more deeply rooted in the materialist paradigm. In other words, start with some fascinating, really cool nuts and bolts hardware, fantastic enough to get everyone’s attention, then gradually “study” the nuts and bolts and then lead everyone down the path to metaphysics by saying well lookee here, there’s more here than meets the eye. And then gently urge everyone into the deep end of the BPW pool. I am wondering if that’s what they had in mind all along. The TTSA website does after all mention consciousness. In christianese lingo, they refer to this as “meeting people where they’re at.”  Most people fall asleep during philosophy class, but hook them by showing them a Ferrari and then do the bait and switch...

Tru dat. And then nowhere seems to be off limits, because nowhere is.

One must be grounded inside before trying for the Abyss.

This is from the wiki page on Thelema:

"One goal in the study of Thelema within the magical Order of the A∴A∴ is for the magician to obtain the knowledge and conversation of the Holy Guardian Angel: conscious communication with their own personal daimon, thus gaining knowledge of their True Will.

The chief task for one who has achieved this goes by the name of "crossing the abyss"; completely relinquishing the ego.

If the aspirant is unprepared, he will cling to the ego instead, becoming a Black Brother.

Rather than becoming one with God, the Black Brother considers his ego to be god. According to Crowley, the Black Brother slowly disintegrates, while preying on others for his own self-aggrandisement"

    Thank you, all,

Crowley definitely rubs me the wrong way.

But, I agree, beneath all the showmanship, there are nuggets of truth.  The juxtaposition of truth with its opposite is not uncommon in many endeavors or arenas.

    What is True Will......?

    My suggestion.........

True will is attempting to go with the cosmic flow, deliberately.

Everyone is always going with the flow, whether they want to or not.  And it is always the best possible flow, whether they know it or not.

In many situations, there is a clash of egos.  The various ego vectors will cancel out, leaving a resultant, or net, vector, which, presumably, would be more aligned with the cosmic Will than any of the individual ego vectors.

This is the phenomenon of daimonism....... it all comes out in the wash.

This clash of egos....... is it not a great waste of energy?

Yes and no, but mainly no..... or entirely no. In the BPW, nothing is wasted.... especially not our squeals.

    99,

    Exactly...... thank you.

There are myths about this..... or there should be.

There is the irresistible force meeting the immovable object.

There is the myth of Sisyphus...... what a waste, and so much like life.

    But consider a biological analogy.......

This would be the ‘myth’ of Owen Barfield and the butterfly......

Owen speaks of three stages of human history...... original and final participation, separated by the chrysalis phase, or by beta consciousness.  We could simply call them our three stages of human existence....... which for a personalist/immaterialist is tantamount to existence...... period.

The only other instance of these three phases of human history, I’m aware of, was introduced by Joachim da Fiore (1135-1202).  Joachim spoke of the age of the Father, the age of the Son and the age of the Spirit.

Let’s see how this works with the butterfly........

We have the caterpillar, the chrysalis/cocoon and finally the butterfly.

I suggest that that the caterpillar corresponds with tribal consciousness or Original Participation.

The caterpillar phase would also be Julian Jaynes’ bicameral phase, before the explosion of Thera, which ended the Aegean/Minoan era.

Ok, so, back to our tribal caterpillar..........

Let’s say that our caterpillar comes in twelve segments.  These segments might be understood as corresponding to the twelve original megalithic and the twelve final ‘megalopic’ sites, which, in my imagination, would also correspond with the twelve segments of the zodiac....... as below, so above.

I’m reminded of our original mnemonic....... AZO/X/QRP..... cosmos/person/microcosm...... Vitruvius man, seen afresh.

We, represented by X/christos/ego, are the chrysalis of the butterfly.

Our egos emerge from the breakdown of the bicameral/tribal/caterpillar mind.  Our egos are ultimately submerged into the cosmic consciousness of the butterfly, ie., the Telos/Monad/Source.

Ok, are you with us, sports fans/entomologists........?

Let’s apply these various metaphors to the situation at hand......

We have the mother, the son and the spirit...... Aliyah, Ron and Dan.

Our ‘ménage a trois’ is a microcosm.

Of course, there are micrcosms and micrcosms.

For the sake of pedagogy and speculation, I’m supposing that the ARD micrcosm might have an historical role to play.

If that were the case, we’d each represent one of the stages of humankind.  We are here to negotiate our respective interests, in a civil manner....... we have the matriarchy, the patriarchy and..... the pneumocracy(?).

    12:50.........

99....... if we don’t say so, ourselves.

So, instead of dropping bombs on each other, we can, hopefully, work out the transition into our Final Participatory, pneumocracy in a civil/personal fashion.  Yes?

This is a game that we can all play.  You just have to choose your side.

But, ultimately, this will be Aliyah and me working out the terms of surrender for the Patriarchy...... Ron.  Ron puts on a good show of having already surrendered to the Princess.  She and I, however, are not totally convinced...... are we, Princess?   Ron still has a few cards up his sleeve.

And so does the Princess, I hope.

Me....... hey, I’m just the innocent bystander, aka., chicken little.

    Wow Dan, right on.

I have dedicated myself to the study of Kaballah and Thelema for the duration.

Crowley is a friend, The Beast, he is a brilliant lunatic.

    Right on point 99.

You are offered a choice at the gate.

True will. I have been sitting with it. Dan describes it in its essence.

It is exactly as he describes.

The fight of the ego just melts right out of you.

    Why fight?

    Peace and kindness are better.

Once I got past his charade, it took a crowbar to allow some of Crowley's material to seep in and I'm finding myself resonating with some of it. Thanks smelly for your patience. Now I'm understanding your POV on things a little more.

The Black Magician imagines themselves as gods and develop the powers of such. They resist merging with the monad. They feel this is the true destiny of the human being. It is not my path is all I can say. If they Master their will, they are movers of great energies. Most are corrupted I imagine ultimately, a form of merger.

In this world though, the black one is no better or worse than the light one. Evil is no better than good, they need each other. I’m studying this topic now as I map out the Thelemic landscape. Ironically Crowley, who preaches love and condemned left pathers, helped empower the Lords of the Left Hand Path today. These are great magickcians who serve themselves.

In my opinion the left hand path leads to the ego amplified to the max, a good definition for the Old Gods who embodied certain emotional energies.

Now listen, Crowley says the Sun gave him the book of the Law. As far as my experience, it must be True. The more I let my true will lead, the more I understand him, but this is a path beyond all we have known before in a way. This is culmination, final participation is an idea whose time has come.

Prometheus Rising by RAW is a good post-modern compliment to Saving the Appearances. RAW lays out your personal prison and the way to escape is embedded in Thelema and many other immaterial paths.

Ok, the Princess is on board with our basic schema.........

The two of us ganging up against the Patriarchy/PtB, as represented by the Ronster.

There are just two aspects of the Schema.........

    1.)  Quality

    2.)  Quantity

The KWF provides a model that deals with both the quality and the quantity.

The KWF model is to provide intensive seminars in drone production and deployment...... it is to teach the teachers.

That’s what the WoM/MoAPS is all about........ teachers teaching teachers.

Understand, smelly, that none of this is about escape.

This is about maximizing participation in the Final Participation.

    Be here, or be square.

Square pegs don’t fit in round holes.

The Grey Lady will either have to change her stripes, or remove herself from this playing field.

We demand a level playing field. The Lady will only rock the boat, if she’s not wearing ballet slippers.

This goes for all the other mass media out there....... let Hollywood lead the way........ when the News becomes entertainment, Entertainment becomes the news.

    Pleasant..........?

Is it just possible that this could be the best possible world...... in its transition to becoming the cosmic butterfly?

Our only real problem now is to persuade the wannabe party goers that the fire regulations put a limit on our crowd size, for any given time.

There will be plenty of time, all that anyone could possibly ask for, between Revelation Day and the Eschaton.

    1,000 years....... that’s just a guesstimate.

And, hey, please keep in mind that there’s only one soul.  We are all soulmates.

Which is to say that everything I have is yours.

Which, if I’m not mistaken, Jesus already promised....... cross his heart, and hope to die......
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
    Hmmm....... Mother.......?

I guess that it’s all about the timing........

2,000 years......... a blink in the eye of the Creator.

    Blink.........

    3:40........

Rather than just barging into Disclosure, the Grey Lady is maintaining a discreet distance, focusing on the dismantling of the Patriarchy...... https://www.nytimes.com/2018/03/06/us/harvard-professor-resigns-sexual-harassment.html

Let’s see if the other media can be as well behaved...... while the Eschaton seminars continue apace.

    Hello OMF,

Thank you for the continuing education here.

As my life is Wolfgang Pauli-like (in synchronicity if not physics acumen) I find myself on this existential thread with you at the same time I'm speaking with mirror-touch (highly empathic) synesthetes about a possible documentary about them and the need for more Divine Feminine and empathy in another thread.

And just this morning I ran into a righteous lady minister in a department store who complimented my silly winter hat, then ascended into laying of hands on me and glossolalia in the middle of same store.

I think sensitive people near and far are awakening to transformation...

    Have a beautiful day, all,
    Maureen

Welcome to Maureen....... I’m pretty sure that this is our East Coast Maureen.

    Our resident synesthete.

Thank you -- a favorite though I'm sensitive to the Thai people's dislike of the portrayal of their king!

    Shall we dance?

    Have a lovely night, all,
    Maureen
