Re: The Imaginal
I’m using chatGPT to dive into Corbin
I find it to be an extremely effective tool and spelunking companion
The Imaginal for Corbin goes beyond walking naked bewilderment and into the archetype realm of the psyche
Corbin talks of archetypes and spiritual entities that are not simply a product of individual or collective fantasies but that transcend individual or cultural boundaries
Ok, so tarot would be a fine tool to access the imaginal I’m feeling
According to Corbin, this spiritual dimension can be accessed to help one gain insights into deeper dimensions of their psyche and the nature of reality itself
Corbin believed that the imaginal has a transformative power that can help us to overcome the limitations of our ego and transcend the material world
Ok, so I recently faced Moloch in the imaginal. We call it Moloch but it could have any number of names. The core idea being the entity that represent sacrificing what we love to obtain power.
The archetype acts as a mirror to help us see the limitations of our own ego and the futility of our egos games
Very well
This is deep work
The psyche is vast beyond belief
One could easily get lost and distracted spelunking into the psyche
It takes a level of relaxed focus to maintain a certain level of clarity
The seeker is the ego and will always try to distract and look for comfort
Here there is no need for comfort
The ego seeks comfort from the unknown
The bewildered needs no comfort from the mystery
In terms of the imaginal, the fool and magician are our starting and ending guides/archetypes I would say
The fool bringing a level of relaxation and the magician bringing a level of focus
Merging the opposites in each moment we transcend the world of confusion and suffering
We discover that our basic nature is that of joy and effortless doing
Where nothing is rushed but everything is accomplished
Where the fight and flight reflexes give way to trust and love
I find it to be an extremely effective tool and spelunking companion

Re: The Imaginal
Good work.
Tarot is such a tool.
Ultimately Corbin is a mystic.
What are you?
Eschatologist, Mormon, Mystic, Spy, Muppet?
Yes, this is deep.
It’s the deepest.
The ego is the ego.
What else could there be here now?
We are on the verge of eternity.
This is an old game.
I’d speak to Rilke.

All of those but I do prefer Moron most of all.
I like where this is going

Re: The Imaginal
What are you indeed
Ultimately we can’t know what we are but by what we do I feel
I think poets touch close to home in the act of their creation
Is a poet a mystic?
I think most mystics have had something to say about the mystery of being and have played with language as a form of exploring the dance between surrender, will, love, and trust

Goethe wrote:True poetry announces itself thus, that, as a worldly gospel, it can by internal cheerfulness and external comfort free us from the earthly burdens which press upon us. Like an air-balloon, it lifts us, together with the ballast which is attached to us, into higher regions, and lets the confused labyrinths of the earth lie developed before us as in a bird’s-eye view.

I don’t think all poets are mystics.
A few are.
But I think what the good ones do is mystical.

Toxins’ green touch breathing heavy
Three white birds cross homeward bound
“Look!”, the specter whispers labored
“safeguard they the helpless laden,
or torment fixed upon thy brow”
“Nay” say I and set off yonder
“Best check thyself before the dawn”
“For tortured is as tortured does,
and you have yet to pass beyond”

Re: The Imaginal
A few days ago I was kidnapped by the goblins and taken to their goblin festival
There I was shackled and chained and made to provide entertainment for the goblin younglings while the rest drank Mead and made Merry
After several days of partying the goblins fell asleep
Too hungover and exhausted, they never even noticed I had retrieved the keys from the passed out goblin who had kidnapped me
I made my way out of the mountains and forest and hitchhiked back home
Now I stand here before you freshly showered and smelling of musky wildflowers to tell you all about
The wildest possible ride
So let me tell you
It’s a wild ride
No matter what happens, enjoy it, all of it
The ups and downs, the loop de loops
The fast
The slow
It’s just a ride
And no one is driving this thing

Re: The Imaginal
Let me tell you
Duder has been over 10 days hemp free and has not experienced any depression, anxiety, nihilism, or strong cravings
Duder has gotten his shit together, but it wasn’t so much a battle as it was a mindful serenity, surrender and forgiveness
At some point along the way Duder developed a thc sensitivity
Just a small amount would send Duder into orbit
Ungrounded and unable to function efficiently and effectively through the daily grind
Misplacing things regularly
Getting lost in parking lots unable to remember where duder parked
Loss of motivation and curiosity at work
Like a dragging wet blanket
There were moments on the come down that felt just right
And past attempts to let it go resulted in depressed and nihilistic states of being
But somehow, after a long period of tapering off, duder was released
God had chewed him up and spit him out
It was a healing herb at first, but eventually it was time to move on
the daily grind is what duder loves most
Duder has now been enjoying his wholesome trinity, resist modernity, daily supplement stack
Duder feels it may also be contributing to the lack of withdrawals and pains normally experienced after dropping the herb
It has that 0/1 fool magician vibe
Helps duder lock into the zone
Relaxed and at ease yet focused and productive
L-Theanine - 200mg in morning w coffee/tea; 200mg an hour before bed
Glycine - 2g in the morning; 1-3g before bed
Magnesium Glycinate - 500mg midday

Re: The Imaginal
Yeah bruh I was a habitual smoker for years and years but ever since COVID that shit has not been the plant ally it once was.
I kept seeing Aviary guys in black helicopters dressed as clowns circling round my shack and I was like "o no too much!"
Lol jk
It seems like since most of that shit got decriminalized/legalized it's way more potent and intense than ever.
The Queen of Heaven will literally light up a rig, a bong, then chase them with two one hitter swats and just watching that shit alone without even partaking makes me nervous af.
She got some health problems so it's different for her but still...
Lolz.
I think the plant chooses who stays in favor and who falls out of it.

Re: The Imaginal
Ha!
Yes, I think your right that the plant choose who stays in favor and who falls out.
I also developed asthma and had to use an inhaler every time I lit up.
Lungs were not having it.
I have close family who have smoked daily for over a decade and still do. Said they went through a high sensitivity phase as well.
It’s interesting.
I don’t condemn it at all, for me it spit me out, that’s all.
It is well with my soul.
———-
On another note.
Jorjani has a new book out that is more within my digestible realm compared to Prometheism as I am prone to get lost in smart people talk.
I just purchased Artemis Unveiled.
It looks fun.
Looking forward to the read.

Re: The Imaginal
I lied
It happens
Locking into “the zone” is not a matter supplements at all
That’s more grasping
Locking into the zone is the end of grasping
The mind doesn’t want to give up
Wisdom has other plans
It comes like a thief in the night and smashes your false idols
You grin and walk straight on down the open road
Nearly naked but for a fig leaf
Wondering for a fleeting moment
why it is that you feel you aren’t living
unless you have some burden to carry
realizing then there is no answer to that question

Re: The Imaginal
Weird I just had a dream about JRJ two nights ago.
He was in my childhood home.
I asked him if the head Deva is who I thought it was.
Some dummy from my place of work was angrily screaming "NO, WHY DOES IS MATTER!?
It doesn't take a Rhodes scholar to sus out the leading candidate.

Re: The Imaginal
Excellent interview
Head Deva?
Don’t know.
Don’t even know what that means honestly
Will probably gain more context as I read more JDJ
——
Deva Definition:
“ a member of a class of divine beings in the Vedic period, which in Indian religion are benevolent and in Zoroastrianism are evil.”
I wonder if there is any connection to aliens
Everything matters
I’m liking JDJ a lot
He is a kindred spirit for sure
A radical kindred spirit

Yeah I think of all his work, Closer Encounters had the biggest effect on me bruh.
Uber Man too.
I'm pretty sure I know who the head Deva is though.
It takes a village...

Nothing is separate in any sense
Whatever/whoever this Deva entity is it would be a part of us
Or part of thee
All y’all look like a bunch of aliens honestly
Everyone and everything

JRJ does seem to be a little bit fired up
I am not so fired up
Watts would be better company for an evening of food, drinks, and socializing IMO
You can’t take it too seriously
I do appreciate the “give me liberty or give me death” Tomorrowland ayn rand-eque vibe however

Re: The Imaginal
I tried sneaking onto the Tomorrowland set when they came to town.
Didn't take.
Pretty sure I walked right by Damon Lindelof on Canal Street though.
He got a bad rap for a while because of Lost but that is still my all time favorite show.
Once The Leftovers came out though I think everyone realized he was operating on a different level.
That show is definitely not underrated anyone who sees it knows it's a masterpiece but still it never became a part of the cultural zeitgeist.
Instead it's more underappreciated than anything.

Re: The Imaginal
I finished Prometheism a month or so ago
I’m still wrestling with it a bit
It’s no Cold Mountain
I like the core story of Prometheus/Lucifer
JRJ is a conspiracy extremist in some ways
But we all are
I liked his interpretation of the Ridley Scott films
Some of my favorites
Prometheus, Alien Covenant and the Blade Runners
mystical forms of art
Expressions of the ineffable
David’s ultimate creation
A perfect beast of a creature
Not unlike the way one develops their own writing skills or any other form of art or expression
“Once you've gotten the meaning, you can forget the words.
Where can I find a man who has forgotten words so I can talk with him?”
-Zhuangzi
Zhuangzi is like David in what they work to unmask I feel
There is a fierceness to the vitality of naked life energy
Like a ravenous beast or creature
The post-human human we develop with our will to power
Facing the void we learn to adapt and express ourselves in more subtle ways
Unmasking the false, our true will is unveiled
Like a ravenous xenomorph bursting out of our belly
Hah
Reading Alan Moore’s Promethia now
A beautiful piece of art and story telling

Dopey kid?
Shhhhhhh?
Hah
GTF outta here
I feast at the table with the titans
I earned my hammer and chisel
I sojourned through the abyss
I stand here on cold mountain grinning after all the shit I ate
No greater or lesser than any fool
I am not your bitch
My voice cannot be silenced
You’re welcome
