Original OMF "Encounters" Archive

Post by Jake Reason on Thu Nov 15, 2012 10:33 pm

The "Encounters" board at the original OpenMindsForum was very popular. Numerous people with first hand experiences came online to OMF to share their life stories. And many of them engaged in online conversation with others who experienced extraordinary Encounters of the third, forth and fifth kind.

Over 100 threads were created, discussing every aspect of this subject.

The Archive has been restored.

Note:

Pages 4-8 still warrant some attention/maint. Unless, I am not accessing it correctly?

The Archive does not contain the original forum software. Rapid navigating and accessibility functions via the main menu are limited. Therefore each thread and page is best accessed manually. example: Open the thread first, then select page.

Hi Jake Smile

I have difficulty going from page 1 to page 2, 3, etc. when searching for topics. I get some kind of error when doing it. Am I missing something or is there a way to bypass this?

Hello Svarog. Might we know you under a different name, from the old forum?

The Archive is finicky and I don't know why. Sometimes I have no problem advancing from one page to another, and then next day it doesn't work. And I have to try to go in another way. Like advancing a few pages and clicking backwards to the page I want. It also depends on which browser you use. Sometimes Firefox will work better than IE, and vice versa.

To fix it, I'm told, is a very tedious process, editing each link-page codes individually.

The Archive is cloud based, so it's all there, as far as we know. Well some pages might be missing, but very few if so. It is a huge data bank.

I am having a hard time searching the archive as well. I posted in the encounters forum years ago. I'm trying to find my post, but after page four it asks me to log in again. Then it says this site is suspended...

Hi Populist

Thank you for letting us know you are having trouble with it. We've been working on the site lately. I'll let Animal2012 know there is a problem.

Cy
