Where did all the Open Minds Forum members go?

Fri Oct 19, 2012 12:29 pm by Admin

With Open Minds Forum restored now for almost half a year at it's new location with forumotion.com we can now turn to look at reaching out to OMF's original members who have not yet returned home. OMF's original membership was over 6,000 members strong, prior to the proboards suspension, according to the rolls of the time. We can probably safely assume that some of those accounts were unidentified socks. If we were to assume a reasonable guess of maybe as many as 30% possible sock accounts then that would leave potentially somewhere between 4800 to 4900 possible real members to locate. That is still a substantial number of people.

Who were all these people? Some were average individuals with common interests in ufology, exopolitics, globalism, corruption, earthchanges, science and technology, and a variety of other interests. Some just enjoyed being part of a vibrant and unusually interesting community. Others were representative of various insider groups participating in observation and outreach projects, while still others were bonafide intelligence community personnel. All with stake in the hunt for truth in one fashion or another. Some in support of truth, and communication. Others seeking real disclosure and forms of proof. And others highly skeptical of anything or limited subjects. The smallest division of membership being wholly anti-disclosure oriented.

So where did these members vanish to? They had many options. There are almost innumerable other forums out there on the topics of UFO's or Exopolitics, the Unexplained, and Conspiracy Theory. Did they disappear into the world-wide network of forum inhabitants? Did some go find new homes on chatrooms or individual blogs? Did they participate in ufo conventions or other public events and gatherings? How about those who represented groups in special access? Or IC and military observers? Those with academic affiliations? Where did they all go and what would be the best way to reach out and extend an invitation to return?

And what constitutes a situation deserving of their time and participation? Is the archive enough? How exactly do people within the paradigm most desire to define a community? Is it amenities, humanity or simply population size for exposure? Most of the special guests have been emailed and have expressed that population size for exposure is what most motivates them. But not all. Long-time member Dan Smith has other priorities and values motivating his participation. Should this open opportunities for unattached junior guests who have experience and dialog to contribute to the world? How best to make use of OMF's time, experience and resources?

Many skeptics would like to see the historical guardian of discourse opportunity to just up and disappear; go into permanent stasis. They think that not everyone has a right to speak about their experiences and if there is no proof involved then there can philosophically be no value to discourse. I personally would respectfully disagree with them. Discourse has always been the prelude to meaningful relationships and meaningful mutual relationships have always been the prelude to exchanges of proof. In a contentious social environment with regards to communication vs disclosure how do we best re-establish a haven for those preludes? Is it only the "if we build it they will come" answer? Well considering OMF has been largely fully functional over the last four or five months this line of reasoning is not necessarily true. So what would be the best way re-establish this? Your suggestions are sought. Please comment.

Immaterialism 2

Dearest Footloose,

Your continued defense of Hitler implies preference for a future nobody wants to relive. Screw the BPW if this is what you guys call "best". See 99's photo of a mass grave to help with your perspective. And if that doesn't help, you are forever lost. This is not a 'values' question. It is a test of basic humanity. Fail it and you fail yourself first and foremost.

Cold Mountain is so quiet that you can hear the sound of the snow falling.

Shhhhhhh

Do you hear it?

Stick out your tongue and taste it.

The higher you climb the colder it gets.

Ackbar,

So Kevin should have been happy that you delivered him a cold pizza.

It’s kinda like high school with a lot of backwards talking.

BTW, very nice picture of you and your family...... it would be great to meet up.

This is the best possible world Dan, there is no should have, there only is what is. I cannot say how Kevin should or should have responded. He responded precisely as he should have.

Was he happy I delivered him a cold pizza?

I'm pretty sure they have a microwave there at the pond by the lake.

Meet up you say?  Nah.....I'm a lone wolf on Cold Mountain, my only company up here is Smelly's decapitated head on a stick.

There's no goat meat up here other than the frozen head. I don't know what you did with the body but it's no where to be found. Only a frozen head on a stick.

I wasn't the one to cut off Smelly's head either. I just found it like this when I got here.

I cut my own head off of course.

Pan and I thought it fitting to leave as a warning to the Others.

We don’t live up on a Cold Mountain, but we are always there.

Hope you enjoyed the climb.

Speaking of Pizza, this picture popped up in Robert Sepehr youtube video I saw the other day.

It was one hell of a climb. I was following some goat tracks left behind.

Aaron I'm probably the head Muppet to be honest lol and my head is full of gibberish.

Dan I think an OMF meet up should be arranged some time, imagine how wild that would be? Smelly, Footmann I know you two troublemakers would want that!

I was hoping to go to Alien Con this year which is up in Dan's neck of the woods but that's not in the cards unfortunately.

OMF crew storming the gates of Alien Con, now that would be something special!

I would stab myself in the right eye with a hot soldering iron before going to an Alien Con.

Laughing

Maybe it's because I'm still traumatized from my Christopher Walken experience, I don't know.

Anyway, lone wolves and goats of Cold Mountain don't do meet ups.

It's an allergy to NPCs sort of thing perhaps.

They make me sneeze, especially in large groups.

Ron is a human, not a reptilian.

Haha, well a boy can dream, speaking of dreams!

Ron hosting Alien Con now that would blow everyone's mind wide open!

It must be nice to be an NPC, just a totally carefree normie who's never been exposed to the unknown or OpenMindsForum. They would probably think we are all insane, me especially!

NPCs are most definitely not carefree.

Insane is as insane does.

Though I am allergic to NPCs I do care for them and take responsibility for them as a part of me

I am very selfish and care deeply for the whole of Me.

I’m not good as you Ack, I’m a total sell out and I know it.

I’ll be spontaneously scrying high high high on Magic later today with Eli and Baphomet on OMF, should be fun.

I’ve been totally blank for a week, I feel to let my magic freak flag fly here today.

Stay tuned...

Rep,

I'm sure I could give you a run for your money in the muppet stakes.

I've been off having flying lessons with Jonathan Livingston Seagull.

He makes it look so easy but he did share some kind words with me.. to be.

I wonder if his travels included any encounters with goats, reptiles or on cold mountains?

Do you think I'm good Smelly?

Thank you kindly!

You have lost it muppet...good...good progress to nowhere.

I dig Livingston, a true Dude.

My uncle is a pilot and loves his writing.

I read some of his empty words.

...

You have great power in understanding the nature of darkness within.

I do not naturally desire to do evil, but I am driven by desire.

Pleasure is often attributed to evil, as a tool of Mara to trap you using good and evil.

https://www.amazon.com/Pleasure-Finding-Things-Out-Richard/dp/B00D7RNUGE

Considering the nature of desire and pleasure is enlightening.

For truly I take pleasure in balance and making choices.

I love having a choice.

But perhaps this illusion is the best part of the trick of being, there is no choice in the real.

“Learning this again and again and again showed me what desire really is. And, ironically enough, it showed me how to get more pleasure out of life. Sure getting that guitar or that girl is great. But so is sitting and waiting at the airport. So is being stuck in the house because the weather is bad and you can’t go where you planned to go. So is doing the dishes and taking out the trash. It’s great because it’s real.

Desire creates a gap between what is real and what you want. But stick with what’s real and magic happens.“

This here now is magic and where it’s happening.

Do I need anything else?

Only to help me escape the real, which is a fool’s errand.

Round and round we spin in time.

The real does not spin, all spins about the central axis.

Progress to nowhere?

Bwahahaha.

That's a good one.

Being nowhere is as old, if not older, then time itself.

I have always been nowhere and will be forever.
