Where did all the Open Minds Forum members go?

Fri Oct 19, 2012 12:29 pm by Admin

With Open Minds Forum restored now for almost half a year at it's new location with forumotion.com we can now turn to look at reaching out to OMF's original members who have not yet returned home. OMF's original membership was over 6,000 members strong, prior to the proboards suspension, according to the rolls of the time. We can probably safely assume that some of those accounts were unidentified socks. If we were to assume a reasonable guess of maybe as many as 30% possible sock accounts then that would leave potentially somewhere between 4800 to 4900 possible real members to locate. That is still a substantial number of people.

Who were all these people? Some were average individuals with common interests in ufology, exopolitics, globalism, corruption, earthchanges, science and technology, and a variety of other interests. Some just enjoyed being part of a vibrant and unusually interesting community. Others were representative of various insider groups participating in observation and outreach projects, while still others were bonafide intelligence community personnel. All with stake in the hunt for truth in one fashion or another. Some in support of truth, and communication. Others seeking real disclosure and forms of proof. And others highly skeptical of anything or limited subjects. The smallest division of membership being wholly anti-disclosure oriented.

So where did these members vanish to? They had many options. There are almost innumerable other forums out there on the topics of UFO's or Exopolitics, the Unexplained, and Conspiracy Theory. Did they disappear into the world-wide network of forum inhabitants? Did some go find new homes on chatrooms or individual blogs? Did they participate in ufo conventions or other public events and gatherings? How about those who represented groups in special access? Or IC and military observers? Those with academic affiliations? Where did they all go and what would be the best way to reach out and extend an invitation to return?

And what constitutes a situation deserving of their time and participation? Is the archive enough? How exactly do people within the paradigm most desire to define a community? Is it amenities, humanity or simply population size for exposure? Most of the special guests have been emailed and have expressed that population size for exposure is what most motivates them. But not all. Long-time member Dan Smith has other priorities and values motivating his participation. Should this open opportunities for unattached junior guests who have experience and dialog to contribute to the world? How best to make use of OMF's time, experience and resources?

Many skeptics would like to see the historical guardian of discourse opportunity to just up and disappear; go into permanent stasis. They think that not everyone has a right to speak about their experiences and if there is no proof involved then there can philosophically be no value to discourse. I personally would respectfully disagree with them. Discourse has always been the prelude to meaningful relationships and meaningful mutual relationships have always been the prelude to exchanges of proof. In a contentious social environment with regards to communication vs disclosure how do we best re-establish a haven for those preludes? Is it only the "if we build it they will come" answer? Well considering OMF has been largely fully functional over the last four or five months this line of reasoning is not necessarily true. So what would be the best way re-establish this? Your suggestions are sought. Please comment.

Y'all should chilax! Next time Dan or anyone starts talking about some event that is going to happen you know the best response. What's going to happen tomorrow or the next day? Now. Now will happen. When you understand the power of now you can calm the stormy seas. I was not intending to create fear in my post saying I knew what would happen on the 4th and it is hidden in the present. I was simply showing that I didn't give a crap what was going to happen because I am present here and now.

One morning you wake up and you realize...

"One knows that the members of the highest grades in the old hermetic masonry attributed to a bearded demon the accomplishment of the Great Work. At this word, the vulgar hastened to cross themselves, and to hide their eyes, but the initiates of the cult of Hermes-Pantheos understood the allegory, and were very careful not to explain it to the profane."

~ Éliphas Lévi 1810-1875

I believe in a long prolonged derangement of the senses to attain the unknown... Although I live in the subconscious, our pale reason hides the infinite from us.

—Jim Morrison

The real is amoral.

Nietzsche said, "All great things must first wear terrifying and monstrous masks in order to inscribe themselves on the hearts of humanity."

Who is more ugly and terrifying than Us?

“When the serpent appears, his head is ten feet long and five feet wide. He has one red eye and one green eye. He's deadly and he's seven miles long. As he moves -- on his scales is written all the history of the world, all people, all actions, all of us our little pictures on the scales, God it's big! -- and it's eating as it moves all the time, devouring, digesting consciousness, power, a monster of energy! We must kiss the snake on the tongue, if it senses our fear, it will eat us instantly. But if we kiss it without fear, the snake will take us through the garden and out the gate. To our freedom -we must ride this snake. To the end of time.”

—Jim Morrison

Ride the snake all the way.

The wind is blowing
The trees are growing
And knowing time
The snake enters the garden
With a kiss your destiny set
Now you will ride the snake
To the end of time

That was quite an amazing stunt you pulled on Saturday! Already commented on it later that day in the Premonition Depot thread.

Yea, I would definitely say that you're talented in ARV. That long shot horse that you predicted was going to win ... won! That's pretty amazing!

Dali made me write some poetry

The Priestess comes, red desert skin
Her burning blisters fester deep within
Passing through the desert heat
Her blood drips down between her feet

The Priest finds her footsteps in the sand
The smell of death across the land
They disappear into the distance
Beside her trail of blody innocence

The Priest embarks through the heat of day
Up ahead the Priestess finds a place to lay
At last she’s passed beyond abyss
She spreads her legs and hears a hiss

The moon now rises up above
Her water breaks to seals her love
The naked child left behind
The Priestess crawls away repined

The Priest upon the path of blood
Discovers something in the flood
He finds the child cold and naked
What must be done is something sacred

He reaches down into abyss
The sound of snakes begins to hiss
He opens wide and swallows whole
The Priest connecting with his soul

Silencing the hissing sound
He finds the snake skin on ground
He burns the skin and floats away
The sunrise starts another day

All muppets are equally dumb and fun.

I love you all as ME always or I wouldn’t persist with your ignorance.

It is my compassion to wait for you and bash the sense out of you.

Only you can give me the stick.

I’ll always use it on you until you are passed out, all sense gone or you leave.

I've left plenty of times since 2007...

If you're waiting for something to happen here... You've come to the wrong place.

Dan is teaching what he knows and that's what's happening.

Please let him do what he needs to do...

Nobody cares about the other bullshit...

Marnut, you don’t have all the info, best to stay open minded until you know it’s a dead end, then you will say don’t know—straight on.

If you can say the above, you have no idea what is happening now.

Something beautiful is always happening here.

It's the play. Why not play along?

You always play along whether you like it or not.

Dan is teaching knowledge. Shaman's burn books of knowledge with magick.

Dan is always doing what he needs to do. He doesn't need to do anything. Nothing is needed and everything is needed, but that's all been taken care of already.

Nobody should care about any bullshit.

The secret is it's all bullshit.

Have fun with it.

Wonderland is a world of nonsense.

Flow with it.

Gravity pulls, just chilax into it Murnut.

Dan has nothing for you. I have nothing for you.

You are a faker and a shaker, but IT plays you just the same.
