The narrative war is in full swing. When there's a 100 different competing narratives, how is it possible to discern a disclosure?

Is it akin to which truth is Truth?

Since March 2011 when the meltdowns took place in Fukushima, much has happened. The Pacific Ocean has much debris of small and large size now showing up on our shores. The radiation problem continues out of control in Japan and now the effects are being felt on our West Coast. I shall endeavor to play catch up with the information with you all here.

I had the pleasure of someone I did not know on another forum to recover my entire thread of Fukushima from the original OMF. This thread will deal specifically with what is happening in our hemisphere. It will take a little time to put my information here. This has turned into a passion with me as I try to inform people the best I can. Rod

This article is from Intellihub and I didn't realize how much more widespread the problems was with regards to wildlife. Since we have a number of our folks on the West Coast to include Canada and also Alaska in the Northwest, I thought I would start a thread just for these areas and the possible issues that are arising from Fukushima.

    http://intellihub.com/2013/12/30/is-fukushima-decimating-wildlife-in-the-western-portion-of-north-america/

"Radiation? Seals, Sea Lions, Polar Bears, Bald Eagles, Sea Stars, Turtles, King and Sockeye Salmon, Herring, Anchovies and Sardines In The Western Part of North America All Suffering Mysterious Diseases At the Same Time" from Intellihub...

Bald Eagles have been the latest species added to the list. Is it radiation or some other malady? I am not an expert in this field but it sure makes a person wonder. Is it radiation in the air? Is it radiation through the food chain for the wildlife? The timing sure is suspicious.

    Or perhaps something else?

    https://www.seafoodsource.com/en/news/supply-trade/25101-china-bans-us-west-coast-shellfish-imports

China has closed its doors to all imports of West coast shellfish. Chinese officials tested samples of geoduck clams and found elevated levels of arsenic and a toxin that causes Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning. But this is only shellfish....

There are so many variables to consider to add to the mess we now have in the Pacific Ocean and on the West Coast.

Look out West Coast...here comes another wave of radiation fallout?

    http://www.turnerradionetwork.com/news/146-mjt

From the Turner Network Radio site:

NEWS FLASH - URGENT - December 28, 2013 11:00 PM EST -- (TRN http://www.TurnerRadioNetwork.com ) -- Persons residing on the west coast of North America should IMMEDIATELY begin preparing for another possible onslaught of dangerous atmospheric radiation from the Fukushima nuclear disaster site in Japan. The Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) says radioactive steam has suddenly begun emanating from previously exploded nuclear reactor building #3 at the Fukuishima disaster site in Japan. TEPCO says they do not know why this is happening and cannot go into the building to see what's happening due to damage and lethal radiation levels in that building. Experts say this could be the beginning of a "spent fuel pool criticality (meltdown)" involving up to 89 TONS of nuclear fuel burning up into the atmosphere and heading to North America. Steam photo, full details and suggested methods to protect yourself appear below.

    Another criticality?

To provide insight into how much trouble this could be, the chart below proves that, according to TEPCO, reactor #3 was loaded with 566 fuel assemblies. The spent fuel pool in reactor building #3 contains 514 assemblies; about 89 TONS. If that "goes critical" there's nothing to contain the radiation which will go directly into the air.

This is a link to civilian monitoring stations and in some areas on the West Coast the levels are above the 100 CPM (Counts Per Minute) alert level.  Thought you might be interested.  I don't trust the EPA monitoring system.

    http://www.netc.com/

It has 5 levels of alert and some areas out West has Level 3 and 4.  Level 3 is elevated level...level 4 is concern level...level 5 is the highest level.  Just realize that in some cases there may be a local issue causing the elevated reading.  Back ground radiation from what I have been told usually can run up to around 60 CPM.

    Active alerts at this posting

These are level 4 Radcon alerts as of 1-4-2014

    Bolded numbers are CPM.

Read the comments on the site and in their forum and realize that this is a monitoring site and also realize that the higher in elevation you go the readings will go up.  The monitoring may be near some geological area where background radiation is higher to geological formations.

NORM - Natural Occurring Radioactive Material - This word is the answer to any question about radiation. If asked about radiation snow, its the NORM. If asked about cancer effects, its the NORM. If asked about oil drilling levels, its the NORM. The NORM was created to explain the radiation in the area where you live.

There are many questions about radiation and the causes / effects of exposure to radiation, but the one that is most often asked "What is the NORM level?" The EPAs answer is "Health physicists generally agree on limiting a person's exposure beyond background radiation to about 100 mrem per year from all sources. Exceptions are occupational, medical or accidental exposures. (Medical X-rays generally deliver less than 10 mrem). EPA and other regulatory agencies generally limit exposures from specific source to the public to levels well under 100 mrem. This is far below the exposure levels that cause acute health effects. The millirem (mrem) is a very small measurement of radiation.

In Olympia, WA the average NORM radiation is 50 mrem and 100 mrem exposure from all other sources would set the level of concern/watch level at 150 mrem. Nuclear Emergency Tracking Center will alert you when the radiation exceeds the EPA's standards. Please be careful and do not panic. Just be aware of the concern/watch levels in your area.

In Tucson, AZ, the average NORM radiation is about 118 mrem, add 100 mrem exposure from all other sources, the concern/watch level equals 218 mrem.

Here is a site that you can calculate your dosage:

    http://www.epa.gov/radiation/understand/calculate.html

The amount of radiation exposure is usually expressed in a unit called millirem (mrem). In the United States, the average person is exposed to an effective dose equivalent of approximately 620 mrem (whole-body exposure) per year from all sources (NCRP Report No.160).

The dose calculator is based on the American Nuclear Society's brochure, "Personal Radiation Dose Chart". The primary sources of information we relied on are the National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements Reports #92-#95, and #100. Please remember that the values used in the calculator are general averages and do not provide precise individual dose calculations.

My reading for this past year was 382.319 mrems just from my dosage calculation for my specific area where I live. This is by no means exact but generalized. Florida is low in natural occurring radiation. My home has smoke detectors, no granite but is made of concrete block and so on. This is part of the dosage chart calculation. The Midwest has a lot more natural background as well as those at a high altitude. The higher up you go the more exposure to cosmic radiation and the lower you go the higher terrestrial radiation.

Is radiation hurting the sea life on the West Coast. This guy says NO.

Is the sea floor littered with dead animals due to radiation? No.

Posted on January 4, 2014 by Dr. M Deep Sea News

"The Pacific Ocean appears to be dying, according to a new study recently published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. Scientists from the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI) in California recently discovered that the number of dead sea creatures blanketing the floor of the Pacific is higher than it has ever been in the 24 years that monitoring has taken place, a phenomenon that the data suggests is a direct consequence of nuclear fallout from Fukushima."

"The reason I am unfamiliar with a study providing evidence of “Dead sea creatures cover 98 percent of ocean floor off California coast; up from 1 percent before Fukushima” is because no such study exists. Here are the details of the actual study." Dr. M

    See entire article:

In the interest of presenting both sides I found this article.

Should I Take Radiation Protection Pills?  From Fairewinds

Every day Fairewinds Energy Education receives many questions. The big question in the New Year is: “Should I take a ‘radiation pill’ to combat the radiation being given off by the triple meltdown at Fukushima Daiichi?”
First, lets start by defining a radiation protection pill is and what it does. A radiation protection pill is usually called potassium iodide because it consists of potassium iodide KI which is the scientific notation for this molecule consisting of the elements potassium (K) and iodine (I). Unfortunately, potassium iodide only protects against one type of radiation, radioactive iodine. It does not protect against the hundreds of other radioactive isotopes released in nuclear meltdowns.

    http://fairewinds.org/demystifying/take-radiation-protection-pills

I always listen to Arnie Gunderson from Fairewinds due to his background as a Nuclear Engineer and his seemingly neutral stand between the industry and science. He is more science oriented than industry oriented.

Professor’s Diary: Fukushima radioactive material “has reached the west coast as of June 2013 by ocean transport” — Health risks to be determined by ongoing monitoring

An article from enews on Professor Jay Cullen from University of Victoria.  He is a professor of marine chemistry.  January 4 2014.

Fukushima derived Cs has reached the west coast as of June 2013 by ocean transport but [the] concentrations of Cs continue to be well below levels thought to pose environmental or public health threats. There have been a number of popular press articles that [...] report the timing of the arrival of the radionuclides but offer no perspective on the actual levels and the associated risk to residents of the west coast (e.g. link). [...] About 93% of radioactivity in seawater results from the presence of primordial, naturally occurring potassium-40 (K-40) and rubidium-87 (Rb-87). The remaining 7% are radioactive elements deposited to the ocean from past atmospheric nuclear testing. [...] Fukushima derived Cs was detected all the way to the coast in June 2013 with the highest levels of Cs-137 farthest offshore (0.0009 Bq/L or roughly 0.006% of background radiation) and lower levels of 0.0003 Bq/L toward the coast [...] Ongoing monitoring will constrain the likely environmental and health risks posed by ocean transport of Fukushima derived radionuclides.

Note the professor changed the units to Bq/L for Cs-134 and -137, instead of using Bq/m3 as in the source document (pdf). The above amounts must be multiplied by 1,000 to get Bq/m3.

In addition, the figures provided by the professor appear to be inaccurate:

According to the source document, it’s Cs-134, not Cs-137, that measured 0.9 Bq/m3 (or 0.0009 Bq/L if you modify the units like the professor).
The professor writes that in June 2013 there were “lower levels of 0.0003 Bq/L toward the coast” — This amount is not in the  measurements for 2013, the only mention of it was in 2012: “Levels of 137Cs equal to 0.3 Bq/m3 measured at Sta. P26 in 2012.”
Last month in a Vancouver-area newspaper Prof. Cullen wrote: “the natural level of radioactivity on average in the oceans is about 13 Bq/L, against which radioactivity resulting from human activities and disasters should always be discussed.” What is the basis of this claim that “natural radioactivity levels should always be discussed” when “radioactivity resulting from human activities” is mentioned?

“In the ocean (and human body) different radionuclides have different fate and toxicity,” according to Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution’s senior scientist Ken Buesseler (who mentions his ability to be quoted in media reports downplaying Fukushima-related data).

Also be aware that fish can bio-concentrate cesium-137 at a rate of 100 times the level found in the surrounding water. For seals and sea lions it’s up to 1,000 times. (Source: IAEA)

This article copied in its' entirety from enews.

    http://enenews.com/professor-fukushima-radioactive-material-reached-the-west-coast-as-of-june-2013-by-ocean-transport-health-risks-to-be-determined-by-ongoing-monitoring

I can only say this at this point.  No matter what the level of radiation, it is destructive.  We can do nothing about natural radiation.  We can do nothing against cosmic radiation.  We as a society can pressure the nuclear industry to crack down on maintaining the nuclear plants now operating.  The genie was let out of the bottle in the early years of the atom and it will be hard trying to stuff the genie back in the bottle.  The plants are already built and we need to bring pressure to bear on those who regulate the plants.  This will only happen if we ban together.  The largest influence are people themselves.  Zorgon himself brought up the fact of "human tolerance."  How much will human beings tolerate?  How much will human beings care?  Will human beings just sit and write about the problems and not get involved?  Our fate is in our hands.  What will we do as a species? Ron has always been an influence on me and guided me to remember the human psyche and it's influence.

This is what he said on his site:

    http://www.asmdc.org/members/a25/press/wieckowski-urges-state-to-post-information-on-fukushima-disaster-s-risk-to-california-beaches

Wieckowski Urges State To Post Information On Fukushima Disaster’s Risk To California Beaches

SACRAMENTO - Saying that Californians are concerned and seeking information about potential health risks caused by contaminated water coming to the state from the Fukushima nuclear power plant disaster, Assemblymember Bob Wieckowski (D-Fremont) is urging the state’s Department of Public Health to post updated information on the issue to its homepage.

“With newspaper reports, on-line videos and a number of stories about the possible radiation dangers to our beaches, residents are concerned and seeking information from a source they can trust,” Wieckowski said. “I think a lot of people’s questions can be answered if the department would conduct a study or post the results of other studies and monitoring that are already completed to its homepage. The difficulty of finding accurate, current information about the science and the level of risk involved has exacerbated confusion and worry among some in the public.”

Wieckowski said the federal government has suggested Fukushima’s problems pose no risks to California’s coastal and estuarine lands. However, online speculation about contaminated water traveling to California, and higher than normal radioactivity levels on a California beach have increased the public’s concerns.

“Tourism, fishing, agriculture and outdoor recreation are among our most important assets,” Wieckowski said. “Millions of Californians live in communities that are directly impacted by contamination in the ocean. That’s why I think it’s important for the state Department of Public Health to put what information it has in layman’s terms onto its homepage so the public can see it and understand what, if any, risks or concerns are out there.”

Wieckowski represents the 25th Assembly District, which includes San Jose, Santa Clara, Milpitas, Fremont and Newark.

    Below from a different source;

KSBW, Jan. 10, 2014: Zero threat of Fukushima radiation at California beaches, health officials say [...] there is also no risk of Fukushima radiation hitting the Monterey Bay. John Hodges, Santa Cruz County’s environmental health director, said, “We have no indication of anything that would be unusual here on our beaches.” Santa Cruz surfer Danilo TJ Magallanes disagrees, and said he would never go surfing right now.

Half Moon Bay, CA Patch, Jan. 9, 2014: Dean Peterson, Director for Environmental Health Services for San Mateo County [...] forwarded the issue to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and [the California] Department of Public Health to further analyze the radioactivity. “Because the level was higher, it is protocol for us to contact state and federal agencies for further investigation,” he said. CDHP has collected and will be analyzing sand samples from Half Moon Bay. [...] The agency has been in contact with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and they are monitoring the situation with the nuclear reactors in Japan, said [spokeswoman Wendy Hopkins].

Awareness of the situation is now hitting local officials a little bit at a time on the West Coast. I would say bring pressure to bear on your local officials in the city, county and state so they will bring pressure to bear nationally.

Yachtsman says the Pacific is broken. This is indeed an eyewitness story.

    http://www.theherald.com.au/story/1848433/the-ocean-is-broken/

IT was the silence that made this voyage different from all of those before it.

Not the absence of sound, exactly.

The wind still whipped the sails and whistled in the rigging. The waves still sloshed against the fibreglass hull.

And there were plenty of other noises: muffled thuds and bumps and scrapes as the boat knocked against pieces of debris.

What was missing was the cries of the seabirds which, on all previous similar voyages, had surrounded the boat.

The birds were missing because the fish were missing.

Exactly 10 years before, when Newcastle yachtsman Ivan Macfadyen had sailed exactly the same course from Melbourne to Osaka, all he'd had to do to catch a fish from the ocean between Brisbane and Japan was throw out a baited line.

"There was not one of the 28 days on that portion of the trip when we didn't catch a good-sized fish to cook up and eat with some rice," Macfadyen recalled.

But this time, on that whole long leg of sea journey, the total catch was two.

No fish. No birds. Hardly a sign of life at all.

See more of this article from the New Castle Herald at the above link.

THIS IS FROM AN EYEWITNESS TO THE DEBRIS FROM AUSTRALIA TO OSAKA.

    Hey Maverick!  My Fukushima buddy!

Wow, you've posted quite a lot here.  Just noticed it, haven't read any yet, but wanted to thank you for sharing all of the above.

I've been keeping up to date from Fairwinds Energy.  It's simply awful what's going on.  Horrendous is probably a better word.

I have two sisters and four nieces in Vancouver.  I can't bring myself to telling them, because I know they can't move without loosing a significant social network of lifetime friends.  And they were already seriously irradiated in April/May 2011 (as you and I well know).  So why worry them to death when there is not a damn thing they can do about it.  If they find out on their own and bring it up with me, I will surely update them with what I know, but otherwise I can't bare to destroy their world.  I'm at a loss as what to do.

Well that said....thanks again for all the above.  I'll sign off now and read it all.

    Cheers,
    Jake

Nice to talk to you again Jake. I certainly hope I can inform people more about what is happening once again. There is always hope that something can be done. We have to hold on to that no matter what the crisis may be. The more you are informed as to this crisis and possible solutions, the better you will be able to help others through this. With all the terrorism going on in this world, this is a problem that has the potential to kill a great deal of people. Maybe right away but over time. There are defenses to some extent but those need to be studied and brought to the forefront. More people are being made aware and that is reason for hope. If we don't have hope, we have nothing. Another update from the West Coast

It appears the California school system has announced testing for Fukushima radiation.

California schools announce Fukushima testing: Imperative we monitor for any Fukushima contamination “that will be arriving this year” in ocean — LA Times claims levels are declining, fails to inform readers of radioactive plume crossing Pacific

    http://enenews.com/california-professor-imperative-we-monitor-for-any-radioactive-contaminants-that-will-be-arriving-this-year-in-ocean-from-fukushima-l-a-times-claims-levels-are-declining-fails-to-inform

This link will hook you up with several reports about the monitoring of kelp and other things. People are becoming more aware of what is going on. Why is the mainstream media continuing to back off?

Fukushima influence on West Coast USA/Canada and Northern Hemiphere Empty Fukushima hits home for me....literally

Post by spacemaverick Wed Feb 05, 2014 12:02 pm

Well, just found out some information and we were not told about it when it happened. Nice, really nice. Right here in my own back yard.

Fukushima Radiation Fallout In Florida and the Indian River Lagoon Superbloom of 2011

Following the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant disaster on March 11, 2011, radioactive fission product material began to spread across the globe. As seen in this time lapse video map of Fukushima radiation distribution across the world, Florida had the meteorological bad luck of being under a concentrated atmospheric radioactive "swirl" from the second half of March through April 2011.

As a result, Melbourne, Florida in Brevard County recorded the highest single day concentration of Iodine-131 of anywhere in the world, according to measurements taken by the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty Organization. Xenon and Cesium were also detected in Melbourne. Additionally, Cesium-134, 136 and 137; Iodine-131 and 132; and Tellurium-129m and 132 were detected by air filters in nearby Orlando, Florida. North of the Indian River Lagoon, Cesium-134 and Iodine-131 were detected in rainfall in Jacksonville, Florida.

While the radioactive material was overhead and falling onto Florida, severe weather with strong winds, waterspouts, hail, and heavy rainfall fell over east Central Florida during the last few days of March.

For the rest of the story, see link below.

    Hey Maverick,

You've been doing great with these threads.  I found something today I thought you might be interested in...I don't think you've already posted it, but I could have missed it.  I just come from WND's news site and they have a piece there about what Japan and a US corporation thinks is a viable solution for blocking further radiation leaking into ground water.

    http://www.wnd.com/2014/02/super-cool-plan-to-save-japan-from-radiation/

    Here's a few snips:
"Officials already had announced plans for a $300 million project to build an almost mile-long subterranean ice wall around the complex, which is hoped to have the effect of halting the drainage of contaminated water from the plant site."

"To build the wall, 1,073 pipes will be sunk about three feet apart into the ground to a waterproof rock layer (a depth of about 90 feet). The pipes will then be filled with brine (concentrated salt water) and circulated through the pipes. Using 14 400 kW refrigerating units, the brine will be cooled to -40 degrees Fahrenheit, which will freeze the ground around the pipes.
This ground-freezing technology has been successfully applied before on projects such as the construction of building foundations on unstable ground, the construction of underground storage tanks and escalator tunnels on subways. With hundreds of ground-freezing projects having been implemented, it is hoped that the use of a proven technology will work in this application."
    and
"While the ice wall may stem the flow of radioactive water, it is at best, a temporary solution. It is also assuming several things to be true:

    • The pipes will be able to be placed in a dangerous environment within the precise tolerances needed to freeze the ground; people involved in the construction risk exposure to contaminated dust, as well as radioactive leaks.

    • The refrigerating units will be sufficient to provide the cooling to freeze the ground completely;

    • The waterproof rack layer underneath the complex is level enough that the water will not just flow under the wall.

Analysts suggest to provide a long-term solution, the radiation situation at the plant site needs to be stabilized. The heat being generated by the atomic fuel needs to be brought under control. (Plans call for work to begin removing the melted fuel from the No. 1 and No. 2 reactors in fiscal 2020.)"

Fukushima influence on West Coast USA/Canada and Northern Hemiphere Empty Where is the fuel and can frozen ground stop it?

Post by spacemaverick Thu Feb 06, 2014 1:13 pm

In my opinion the ice wall is too late and not enough.  The ice wall is not even proven to work in a situation like this and is dependent on no problems to even work.  They should have taken a Chernobyl approach.  TEPCO and even the Japanese government have said they do not know where the coriums are located.  Extreme heat from the coriums may not allow the ice wall or ground to be frozen.  You still have water and radiation getting into the ground water.  I am not an expert but I would say they should have jumped on encasing the units to include the spent fuel pools.

They mentioned the melted fuel in reactors 1 and 2.  I have heard two stories on this and one is they do not know where the melted fuel is and that they do.  So we have a problem here.  Do they or do they not know where the fuel is?  Why have they waited so long to do anything about it?  I call for encasement until they can find a way to take care of this problem.  They need help from outside their country from some of the world's experts.  This is now a world problem because it is affecting the whole world.

Now, some experts would beg to differ with me but I have learned one thing in life.  You can find an expert for any side of any argument. (My wife hates that particular thought of mine but it's true).

    Just my humble opinion Cy......

I believe this is what you were talking about...

I agree with you on that.  That was always my first thought.  I don't know why they didn't jump to that?  Could proximity to the ocean have something to do with it?  Or could it be like you speculate that they might not know where the core is?  I'd heard at one point, can't remember the source, that someone thought it had burned through the floor and into the ground below...basically on the loose and uncontrolled.  Nice thought that there might be nothing really stopping it from continuing to burn downward for goodness knows how far?  What would happen if that stuff burnt down far enough to hit some molten part of the Earth's interior?  Yeah that thought had crossed my mind.

Anyway, someone asked me today what I thought of a statement put out by Jean-Michel Cousteau  http://www.oceanfutures.org/news/blog/statement-about-fukushima-radiation-hazards

This was my response - from Email:

Cyrellys wrote:It's sounds like damage control to me.

People have been out with their own geiger counters checking levels in the air against history of background radiation...and the readings as I've been hearing it, aren't pretty.  We're all over the safe limit.  Also the federal gov has been caught raising the 'safe-limit'.  There are independent teams right now on the west coast taking readings and water samples for testing.  We've been hearing reports of the sea floor littered with dead sea creatures in places, and other places where sea life was abundant, now absent entirely.  Even places as far away as Florida have been hosed down with dangerous levels of radiation since the event took place.

Let's put it this way, based on what I know from independent observers (non-governmentals with equipment) I would not advise anyone to be outside in rain or snow storms if it can be avoided, and I would not advise eating ANY sea food at this time.  We simply do not know how this is going to affect people, livestock, wildlife, sea life and plant life long term.  An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.  It's simple common sense.  Consider you don't  dump that much material uncontrolled into an environment and it not circumvent the globe within the first year.

There was data somewhere (I'm not recalling off the top of my head) available at one point as to the height of the plume from the explosion when the event went critical.  High enough to reach the upper atmosphere.  Maybe we won't feel the effects in the first five years, but 10 years down the line I would bet money that the most genetically vulnerable will be hit hard first i.e. the seniors, pre-born, and the children under 12 who are still growing and developing - bone doesn't finish out until approx age 12.

Anyway, it seems foolish to me to be advocating what he is.

I agree that we do not have enough of the right kinds of monitoring structures to deal with this properly.  But I also am well aware that we have depopulationists among governmental personnel at this time, so this is awfully convenient for them is it not?  Someone in government is not taking chances, and gov has purchased and received delivery of a massive quantity of iodine supplements.  That alone should say quite a bit.

I think he is entirely too trusting.  Perhaps he's not informed on the so many other issues outside of F.D. problem, that he thinks standard organizations are trustworthy?  Well, he can eat all the fish/sea food he likes.  I'll pass.  I've been party to far too many pieces of paradigm information to trust 'official' statements so carelessly.

This event is what you would call a global DNA altering event on a potentially larger scale than even the Black Plague - look up how that altered DNA of Europeans in the middle ages.  Those who can adapt and pass that adaptation on to their descendants. will survive beyond their current generation.  Those who can't....shrug.  Sad
