Where did all the Open Minds Forum members go?

Fri Oct 19, 2012 12:29 pm by Admin

With Open Minds Forum restored now for almost half a year at it's new location with forumotion.com we can now turn to look at reaching out to OMF's original members who have not yet returned home. OMF's original membership was over 6,000 members strong, prior to the proboards suspension, according to the rolls of the time. We can probably safely assume that some of those accounts were unidentified socks. If we were to assume a reasonable guess of maybe as many as 30% possible sock accounts then that would leave potentially somewhere between 4800 to 4900 possible real members to locate. That is still a substantial number of people.

Who were all these people? Some were average individuals with common interests in ufology, exopolitics, globalism, corruption, earthchanges, science and technology, and a variety of other interests. Some just enjoyed being part of a vibrant and unusually interesting community. Others were representative of various insider groups participating in observation and outreach projects, while still others were bonafide intelligence community personnel. All with stake in the hunt for truth in one fashion or another. Some in support of truth, and communication. Others seeking real disclosure and forms of proof. And others highly skeptical of anything or limited subjects. The smallest division of membership being wholly anti-disclosure oriented.

So where did these members vanish to? They had many options. There are almost innumerable other forums out there on the topics of UFO's or Exopolitics, the Unexplained, and Conspiracy Theory. Did they disappear into the world-wide network of forum inhabitants? Did some go find new homes on chatrooms or individual blogs? Did they participate in ufo conventions or other public events and gatherings? How about those who represented groups in special access? Or IC and military observers? Those with academic affiliations? Where did they all go and what would be the best way to reach out and extend an invitation to return?

And what constitutes a situation deserving of their time and participation? Is the archive enough? How exactly do people within the paradigm most desire to define a community? Is it amenities, humanity or simply population size for exposure? Most of the special guests have been emailed and have expressed that population size for exposure is what most motivates them. But not all. Long-time member Dan Smith has other priorities and values motivating his participation. Should this open opportunities for unattached junior guests who have experience and dialog to contribute to the world? How best to make use of OMF's time, experience and resources?

Many skeptics would like to see the historical guardian of discourse opportunity to just up and disappear; go into permanent stasis. They think that not everyone has a right to speak about their experiences and if there is no proof involved then there can philosophically be no value to discourse. I personally would respectfully disagree with them. Discourse has always been the prelude to meaningful relationships and meaningful mutual relationships have always been the prelude to exchanges of proof. In a contentious social environment with regards to communication vs disclosure how do we best re-establish a haven for those preludes? Is it only the "if we build it they will come" answer? Well considering OMF has been largely fully functional over the last four or five months this line of reasoning is not necessarily true. So what would be the best way re-establish this? Your suggestions are sought. Please comment.

Journey Wisdom

Post by Admin on Fri Mar 15, 2013 2:26 pm

“When you set out on your journey to Ithaca, pray that the road is long,full of adventure, full of knowledge.” ~ Constantine Peter Cavafy

The Road to Ithica

The sentimental path
The un-explored thought
The leap to be taken
The green moss draping over the rabbit hole.

The cry in the night
The symbiont forgotten
The reach awaiting
The lichen on the stepping stones.

The urgency suppressed
The evolution despised
The unintended consequences met
The wind howling at your back.

There is no journey without value.
There is no effort too small.
There is no dream un-affordable
The Soul determines over all.

I Am Real

Touch me. I am real.
I am your history.
I am your generation.
I defend your existence by challenging mine.

Touch me. I am real.
I am the stuff of thought and stardust.
I am rough hewn like the bark of the cottonwood.
I defend your infinity by reaching back into mine.

Touch me. I am real.
I heard you speak in the shadows.
I seen you pass through the door.
I stood in your stead and shewn them more.

Touch me. I am real.
You will forget me tomorrow.
You have failed to return.
I will fade in my own whilst you continue to yearn.

This journey is ours.
Pinwheeling through time.
Forever interconnected.
Eternally live.

We each have our own path to walk,
It may be straight as an arrow
or it may wander this way and that.

You have your path to walk
it is your path, not mine

I have my own path to walk
It may connect with yours
(for a short or long time)
but each path is our own.

The Sea of Vetch
its violet flowers,
they reach up towards the sky
in torsion-twisted timeless masses
deeply dreaming sigh.

It drew me in
this thought filled muse
an inspiration keep
while Grian swung so high above
glinting pale yet fleet.

Hold your mystic numinore
for one enthralled by light
while a grey world sells
it's high-born soul
for a pantheon of simplistic sight.

THE COWBOY's LIFE
by John A. Lomax

The bawl of a steer,
To a cowboy's ear,
Is music of sweetest strain;
And the yelping notes
Of the gray coyotes
To him are glad refrain.

For a kingly crown
In a noisy town
His saddle he wouldn't change;
No life so free
As the life we see
Way out on the Yaso range.

The rapid beat
of his broncho's feet
on the sod as he speeds along,
Keeps living time
To the ringing rhyme
Of his rollicking cowboy song.

The winds may blow
And the thunder growl
Or the breezes may safely moan;--
A cowboy's life
Is a royal life,
His saddle his kingly throne.

GREAT GRANDDAD
an American Cowboy Song

Great Granddad, when the land was young,
Bared the door with a wagon tongue,
For the times was rough and the dangers great
And he said his prayers both early and late!

He was a citizen tough and grim,
Danger was duck soup to him,
He ate corn pone and bacon fat,
Said his great grandson would starve on that!

Twenty-one children came to bless
The old man's house in the wilderness,
They slept on the floor with dogs and cats,
And they hunted in the woods in their coonskin hats!

--from the Cowboy Sings edited by Kenneth S. Clark, C.1932 Shawnee Press, Inc.

Re: Journey Wisdom

Post by Admin on Wed Jul 17, 2013 11:50 am

Was having a conversation earlier today with a friend about ancient history being imperative to current events. The general idea that history has an influence or impact upon current circumstances is something many people don't ponder often.

Three KINDS of Knowledge: The Nature of each thing, the Cause of each thing, the Influence of each thing.

The Nature of something is structural knowledge. How something is constructed will have impact HOW something is INFLUENCED. The Cause of something, accounts for purpose in existence. That purpose is the core to how the results of INFLUENCE is directed after the cause is given form. We must understand Nature and Cause to understand the responsible and Excellent/Virtuous application of INFLUENCE or to understand the absence.

That is why it was synchronous to see this email arrive shortly after.

FROM EMAIL

Once upon a time when our politicians did not tend to apologize for our country's prior actions, here's a refresher on how some of our former patriots handled negative comments about our great country.
These are good
JFK'S
Secretary of State, Dean Rusk, was in France in the early 60's when
DeGaulle decided to pull out of NATO.
DeGaulle said he wanted all US military out of
France as soon as possible.

Rusk responded,
"Does that include those who are buried here?"
DeGaulle
did not respond.
You
could have heard a pin drop.
When in England , at a fairly large conference,
Colin Powell was asked by the Archbishop of Canterbury
if our plans for Iraq were just an example of
'empire building' by George Bush.

He answered by saying,
"Over the years, the United States has sent many of
its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for
freedom beyond our borders.
The only amount of land we have ever asked for in return
is enough to bury those that did not return."
You
could have heard a pin drop.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There was a conference in France
where a number of international engineers were taking part,
including French and American.
During a break, one of the French engineers came back into
the room saying,
"Have you heard the latest dumb stunt Bush has done?
He has sent an aircraft carrier to Indonesia
to help the tsunami victims.
What does he intend to do,
bomb them?"
A Boeing engineer stood up and replied quietly:
"Our carriers have three hospitals on board
that can treat several hundred people;
they are nuclear powered and can supply
emergency electrical power to shore facilities;
they have three cafeterias with
the capacity to feed 3,000 people three meals a day,
they can produce several thousand gallons of
fresh water from sea water each day,
and they carry half a dozen helicopters for
use in transporting victims and injured to and from their flight deck.
We have eleven such ships;
how many does France have?"
You
could have heard a pin drop.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

A U.S. Navy Admiral
was attending a naval conference
that included Admirals from the
U.S., English, Canadian, Australian and French Navys
At a cocktail reception, he found himself standing with
a large group of officers that included personnel from most of those countries.
Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks,
but a French admiral suddenly complained that,
whereas Europeans learn many languages,
Americans learn only English.
He then asked,
"Why is it that we always have to speak English in these conferences
rather than speaking French?"

Without hesitating,
the American Admiral replied,
"Maybe it's because the
Brit's, Canadians, Aussie's and Americans
arranged it so you wouldn't have to speak
German."
You
could have heard a pin drop.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
AND
THIS STORY FITS RIGHT IN WITH THE ABOVE...
Robert Whiting,
an elderly gentleman of 83,
arrived in Paris by plane.
At French Customs,
he took a few minutes to locate his passport in
his carry on.
"You have been to France before, monsieur?"
the customs officer asked
sarcastically.
Mr. Whiting
admitted that he had been to France
previously.
"Then you should know enough
to have your passport ready."
The American said,
"The last time I was here,
I didn't have to show it."
"Impossible..
Americans always have to show their passports on
arrival in France !"
The American senior gave the Frenchman a long hard look.
Then, he quietly explained,
''Well, when I came ashore at Omaha Beach on
D-Day in 1944 to help liberate this country,
I couldn't find a single Frenchman
to show a passport to."
You
could have heard a pin drop.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If
you are proud to be an American, pass this on!
If not, delete it.
I am proud to be of this land -- AMERICA
I am proud to be an American

END EMAIL

I read the email and thought what if the individuals who responded in this email account to those questions were faced with people who not only had forgotten those histories but were denied them altogether? What if those histories existed only as Conspiracy Theory or alternative research myths despite being true?

What then would their suffering for lack of acknowledgement influence? This is thus an example of the value of the NATURE of a human condition and the injury of a cause that is created which is not congruent or harmonious with true history. It is a pondering on how ill constructed nature and wrong cause alter outcome through influence.

Societal reality is created via nature, form, and work. Comprehension is attained when cause is the form manifestation, and influence is the work.

The parallel relationship to the valuation of truth and inclusion of history to modern circumstance is then more apparent.

So continuing from the last post above,

Why would we applaud unambiguous Contact, un-prepared if prepared consists of Valuation of Truth-Nature, History-Awareness generating a harmonious Cause/Work, Comprehension producing a congruent Influence for the overall outcome?

I'm thinking about all the things in life that we prepare for.

We prepare for journeys.

We prepare for advancement in schooling.

We prepare for new employment.

We prepare for building and maintaining our homes.

We prepare for inclusion in human society.

So why don't we properly prepare for unambiguous contact?

Why don't we even talk about it?

At what point does the cure of National Security and Continuity of Governance become worse than the AFFLICTION?
